  1. About a year and a half ago I got back into 40k and Fantasy. Was out of the hobby for nearly 15years. I used to play Man O War, Necromunda, Blood Bowl, 40k and Fantasy. I'm getting a Skaven blood bowl team painted up to play again. Also a fairly big Death Korps of Krieg 40k Army work in progress not to mention a Skaven Fantasy Army. All these projects have suddenly been paused as me and the Fiancee discovered..... MALIFAUX! :D

  2. Define sensible.

I just sold one of my nightmare chompy's for $200. Buyer is beyond excited to get him.

Have one more left at that price or higher since I can throw in the stat cards autographed by Nathan and Erik.

I'd say $200 is a fair price. I said sensible as sometimes they crop up on eBay for $500+ ;??)

  3. Welcome! great to see the growing group in and around London, and I know you have a great Henchman there in Talishko too. Great to hear that you and your fiancee both got excited about the game, I think you'll both enjoy it. Yes another gaming couple to join up! Just get those crews together and get playing :D

Thanks Eric. We will get our crews painted and start gaming ASAP *Salutes* :D

  4. My fiancee used to play all the oldskool pen and paper RPG games and she picked up a few bits of 40k as she was interested in trying it. But for her to come up with a sizable army to take on my Death Korps of Krieg she would of had to cough up lots of cash so her enthusiasm sorta disappeared. She then came along to Salute with me and we discovered Malifaux. We are getting our stuff painted up at the moment. Shes gone with The Neverborn and I've picked The Ortega's. It seems to be a game that has something for everyone and appeals to both the Guys AND Gals. :flame:

  5. Hi Regnak, glad to see more Londoners around here.

We're running a tournament at my local club tomorrow, pop down for a pint if you'd like to see some good games.

I don't know if you have a gaming club or group to play Malifaux, but I'll be running a demo next Tuesday at Dark Sphere and would be happy to guide you two through your first games, and of course to play against you soon.

Hey Talishko. Thanks for the kind offer. I am unfortunately working tomorrow and also next Tuesday, Doh! :ballchain

I work 4 in 4 off night shifts and that's weekends and start of the week ATM. If you wouldn't mind letting me know when any of your future demo's are I'd love to take you up on the offer. :)

  6. I agree with you about Box. In general I think Three Extremes showcases the amazing talent of three asian directors. Takashi Miike Is in my pantheon of godlike directors. Have you seen Sukiyaki Western Django. An awesome movie with some good visuals for us Malifaux freaks.

    Yeah, great movie indeed.

I'm liking this thread. Some great movies have been mentioned and I like them all!

    I'll add:

The Good, the Bad, the Weird

    Azumi

    Ichi The Killer

Casshern (alot of people dislike this but I don't!) :aetsch:

    Seven Samurai

And not forgetting the amazingly AMAZING Lone Wolf and Cub Movie series.

  7. Hey Everyone,

I'm the latest n00b to register on these forums but have been lurking a little while. Like a few people on here I saw this game at Salute in London this year.... Well I say I did but it was my Fiancee who "Dragged" me over to have a look. We both really liked the look of the mini's and the use of cards instead of dice was nicely refreshing. When we got home we jumped on the Wyrd site to see what was available and ordered the Core Rule Book and 2x Fate Decks. For our starter models I picked the The Ortega's (Inc. the awesome Abuela) and the Fiancee picked out The Dreamer and some of the Neverborns. We are currently painting these up ready for our first game and I'm slowly working on some Terrain.

    So yeah, that's basically it..

    Tony/Regnak
