  1. Rogue Necromancy is a hefty chunk of soulstones to be spending, considering you're reducing it to half wounds - would you then hold it back and heal it up in order to make it last longer, or do you try and get as many turns as possible out of it? I've seen the kind of damage the Coryphee duet or a firing line of guild guard can do, and I'm not sure I could justify spending a third or more of my gangs soulstone allowance on the necrotic monster when I still want my Seishin wall and the Shikome. (along with the Hanged, Lost Love, and that, and that, and that...) I still need to figure what I'm running with Kirai though, so what do I know
  2. Ack! This is the one I'd been told about, and unfortunately can't make Are there any other large events I should set my sights on?
  3. Heya Bigasb - I think I'm playing the Collette gang on Monday but I'm happy to sort things about if possible. I could get Tez to bring his Freikorpsmen, he's not played in a little while and I think might be up for a game? Is that the expo in early June?
  4. Thanks for the welcome guys! @Absolution - I've gotten tired of playing the 'good guys' in most of the games I take part in, disciple of a tyrant entity and summoner of the damned seemed far more fitting in the available setting =P We never know though, the story and standards of the models are far too nice... @Cloassau - We've got 5 or 6 players with a nice mix from each of the factions (one of each as it stands, with 2 arcanist gangs and 2 outcast players) and all of the gangs are different, so hopefully we'll be able to attend some events very soon!
  5. I find that Pathfinder bridges the gap between 3.5 and 4.0 - it gets rid of the messy and overcomplicated rules (such as the pages and pages worth of rules for grapple checks, that just got silly) and the over-focus (in my opinion) on the importance of combat for 4.0. I also believe that Pathfinder has really made the character creation part of the game a much more interesting part of the process, no longer simply a min-max decision for the rest of the campaign. I really suggest checking out the advanced player handbook for Pathfinder to see the different options there are for rolling character classes - the 'Two-handed fighter' option is a machine!
  6. Hey guys, I'm Josh from Salisbury in the UK and I've been playing Malifaux for a few months now; I've played Rasputina since I started (the idea of a magical glass cannon really got the imagination going) but I recently received my order of Kirai and her spirit crew so I'm looking forward to gaming with her. I've not played a large variety of wargames (the major sci-fi one that rules the market taking predominance) but I've been heavily involved in role-play games in the past, so both the fluff and gaming aspects drew me in to Malifaux in the first place. I'm a committee member at my local gaming club, which runs every Monday night at a pub in town - we have a tonne of players who regularly come down for a variety of games, and the types of games we play are changing all the while. It's great to be here, and I hope to swamp you all with various questions at some point in the near future
