  1. Also looking to see if anyone has been to some malifaux events and would like to write about them.

    Tournaments

    Henchmen demos

    wyrd events

    Gencon 2011

    Gencon 2012

Also reviews on terraclips and reveiws on minis

LETS GET SOME REAL LIVE REPORTING ACTION

also battle reports with photos are cool!

I can write up my experiences of the UK GT, if you like? And I'll happily review the new models Wyrd are releasing.

And I'll take photos for my next Bat-rep, if you so wish!

one last thing lets start brainstorming ideas for a title
    Through The Breach?
  2. also question for you guys large page size or small page size?

Large page size would mean more content per page but less pages. Large pages would be 8.5x11 which is normal paper size

small page size is less content per page but more pages... about the size of the small rules manual was what I was thinkin if we went with the small pages

I'd go with rules manual size, personally. But, that's only my opinion with no real reason. Any size will do :P
  3. Is there any non-nightmares that are good with him?

Well, just from looking, the Hooded Rider might be fast enough to keep up and can use it's Chase the Sun thing to stop it being targeted on the Way up.

...I think he's the only really viable one. Perhaps a Mature Nephilim might be able too as well?

  4. With the OP on about a fun force, Im assuming he means fun for both them and whoever there facing.
That's right, there's only one other Malifaux'er in my area, and he has a habit of rage-quitting if he feels like he's getting trounced.

Well, thanks for the tips all, I'll bear them in mind when Chompy finally arrives! :D Starting force will be the Chompy, three of the PW Teddys as Daydreams, then trading the other two for actual Teddys. Should make an interesting 25SS first game!

  5. So, my Nightmare LCB and accompanying crew are becoming a reality, and I've decided I want wooden bases. My question is where to get them?

I know Wyrd do some VERY nice Orphanage bases, and that's all well and good.... except my crew configuration is somewhat prohibitive...

    Dreamer/LCB

    3 Daydreams

    3 Teddies

That's 4 30mm's and 4 50mm's. Off of Wyrd that's 5 blisters of bases, which I simply cannot afford at this present time.

But, I also can't see a logistical way of effectively using coffee stirrers or ice-cream sticks to get the same effect without lots of gluing, filing, filling, pinning and painting. Nor am I a good enough sculptor to use GS and just sculpt wooden floors.

    Any suggestions?

  6. DUDE, this stuff is fantastic. I bow down to you in your woe-inducing awesomeness. I WANT MOAR! :D

I'm pretty sad to admit that I hate the alternative Model, but as the original is just great (and even better with the alternative cloak) I can live with it.
Pandora's Alt model is one of the few that I think isn't any better or worse than the original. Most of them (Ramos, 'Tina, Sonnia, Lilith) I think are way better, a couple (Perdita, LJ) I don't like as much. It's not that I think the Alt.Pandora model isn't fantastic, it's that the original Pandora is also a fantastic sculpt in a different way.

    But, I guess it's all preference :P

Ps.: I'd love to see my base scheme in pink
I've been so tempted to do a Nicodem crew completely pink... Especially since it's not mine...
  7. A couple of ways to tone down your crew and ease up on your opposition, don't start with any daydreams on the board summon them in, don't defensive stance and bury your entire crew of nightmares turn one, don't take a crew purely consisting on nightmares.

    Simples really.

Well, I'll make note of that when expanding my Neverborn :P I wasn't going to Def.Stance my crew anyway, to be honest. Thanks for the idea, though!
  8. The :+fate and :-fate flips from Focus and Proper Manners cancel out for a straight flip

I assume Conduit would give :+fate on all Ca where that model is defending... but I'm not sure.

You can Obey someone to walk over an elevation.

I think the Stitched's damage line is meant to be a straight flip, it has no mention of a Duel total affecting the flips or twists.

  9. Is it Lord Chompy Bits you're talking about for the Onslaught trigger? Well, here it is anyway...

Onslaught: After damaging defender with a Melee Strike with this weapon, immediately make a Melee Strike with this weapon, targeting the defender.
Well, if she applies the dual to the Seishin, she is not being damaged by the Melee Strike, therefore they cannot possibly activate this trigger as is it not the defender being damaged.

That's my take on it anyway.

  10. The bit you're missing: an activation cannot interrupt another activation. Here, "immediately" means "next".

If someone kills the Dreamer, Chompy unburies, the enemy model finishes out it's activation, *then* Chompy activates "immediately".

In the case of the Daydream unburying Chompy, he is buried again before he gets to activate "next".

This was ruled somewhere but not sure in which thread.

    Mike

OK, that makes sense now. Thanks a bunch!
  11. After 1st Daydream casts Frightening Dream, why doesn't One Master kick in? Shouldn't Chompy activate immediately, interrupting the Daydream's activation in a similar way to, say, Slow To Die?

Just ordered Nightmare Chompy myself, and look forward to learning his tricks, but I don't understand how this one is legal (Even though I know it is used quite widely). If someone could explain it to me, I'd be grateful.

    Thanks in advance.

I'd imagine because One Master is referring to when Chompy or Dreamer are activated; when one goes, the other can immediately follow because they are One Master.

Because this is the Daydream affecting the models and not the models themselves doing actions and neither the Dreamer or Chompy have activated at this point, they're not affected by One Master and allow the Daydream to finish the activation.

It must be a kinda similar trick to Lilitu luring Lelu further up the board. The Lelu is moving, but it's not spending AP to move.

This is just what I'm thinking. I've ordered Nightmare Chompy myself, so I'm learning as well. Feel free to correct me! :P

EDIT: Re-reading the rules, I'm actually having to agree. One Master does clearly state "Anytime this model is brought into play, this models controller must bury the Dreamer and this model activates immediately" So, what's going on here? Unless there's an errata?
