This is correct at least, It's how I play my Orphelia crew so I hope your right

Well ikiryo is unique and buried models only count as dead If they'r still buried at the end of the game. So id say no.. could be wrong tho..

Hi,
I would play it as your option b, I believe you declare which pigs you want affected, then make wp and damage flips. Would seem a little cheesy to be able to crowd a target and explode them one at a time til the jobs done and then save the rest for another target...

Lovely color scheme!

It's artillery, so I would say it ignores cover. Walls, bushes and similar 2d scenery isn't gonna do much from something falling from the sky on you.. unless by cover you mean the Target is in a building, what with buildings having roofs an all..

Well as hamelin can't be the Target of spells or abilities from ht1 or insignificant models, I would say no..
Could be wrong, but at first glance, it reads like that.

And you shouldn't' date=' because Algoritmi was one of the greatest mathematicians history recorded. We should be ever thankful to him for invention of Algebra, introduction of algorythms (named after him), propagating Indian numbers around the world (we call them arabic because we've learned them from him) and explaining what the number 0 is so that dumb and religiously fanatical Europeans of the time could swallow it. That last part is very pertinent to the current discussion. [/quote']
The issue is not what your saying, I always appreciate constructive comments, the issue your developing is in the way Youv said it, arrogance isn't an attractive quality in anyone. Still waiting on an official answer or at least one that isn't voiced from someone so far up himself he's inside out..

OMG' date=' it's like you're taking it all back to the Middle Ages. I hate to tell you, but Algoritmi has solved the problem already. [/quote']
..considered answering this.. then decided I had better things to do..
So what does the additional blast do? If the adds only apply to the direct damage, then the additional blast wouldnt effect anyone, so pointless in it being an add.. also the rules state that anyone caught in the blast isn't effected by triggers, its not a trigger its the effect of sacking a pig to make its action better, so the +1 should be applied to all damage. Now given the option a, b, and c, you strike me as the guy that would shout '5' before being told to get back in your box.

Also If the rules (don't have em on hand) say the bracket below.. 0 dg isn't a bracket, surely?
-
Yup, but Zoraida's rule specifically allows you to hire these models. Nix rule does not specifically override basic rules, but rather adds even more restrictions to them.
Think of it as a logic equation. Different rules interact differently with general rules - based on the wording, you have to actually determine how the basic rule is being changed, not throw it out altogether.
For what its worth, I would agree with this..

Hey,
well nix isn't a merc, so couldn't be hired by anyone else that isn't an outcast, right? And although old hamelin can hire 1 height 1 model new nix is height 2, so that wouldn't work. Perhaps abit more context on how you'd be using them, might help with a more definitive answer..
Although I would say no based purely on fluff..

I would have to agree with cerealkiller, I wouldn't worry so much about what your opponent is taking as both 'should' be selecting what would win the mission for you.

I think both answers have their sides, just be nice to get some clarification, but I do realise that the powers that be are busy with gencon.. wish I was going..
-
Ok, but if that is the case, then the current explanation of the rule is so so far from being accurate.. surely (having not checked every possibility) there's plenty that adds +1 to things, damage/blasts that are redundant when flipping weak?
SS!

Afternoon all,
So here's question, the rules say that any model caught in a resulting explosion, I.e not the hit but the placing of 2nd or 3rd explosion, takes the lower bracket of damage. What if the damage is weak? Does it mean that the models caught in the blast take no damage, or weak like initial hit?
Context: I launch an exploding pig at a clustered belle and sybelle, once hit and blast marker placed, I flip weak damage, as the belle is the Target and hit, she takes 2 wounds, plus 1 and blast for using a stuffed piggy, which catches sybelle, sybelle should take the bracket below damage, but as its weak anyway.. what should she have taken?
We played that she took the damage, but I know i won't hear the end of it if she should have taken nothing..
Cheers!

Lets get some showgirls over here.
One minute you're partying hard, the next you wake up on the other side of the Breach with no money, a hangover and only wearing a tutu.
Just another Thursday night in malifaux's red district...

Really good game, I had deliver a message which had me laughing to myself all game, til I.got carried away with the pigapult and forgot to lauch Orphelia turn 4.. which unfortunately meant seamus won.
The suggestion of dropping Rami, in exchange for more bayou gremlins is a lesson learned, as Rami got lured out into the open.. and I did find myself being out activated.

Hmmm.....considers using his untried Hoffman crew.....
Do it! Be nice to not have to face the undying seamus.. I could take on the malifaux mindset but I didn't think you'd be too happy playing against a random assortment off bases.. plus I spent ages sculpting my swamp bases especially!

I did consider that.. however as il be model repping the youngster, pigs and bayou gremlins, I figured is try and keep it simple for tonight.. are the young'be worth it?
-
Afternoon all,
So with a few hours to go til my game with Big Kid and actually reading Orphelia's rules ( plus abit of whining about the piggy position). Iv come up with the list I intend to use. Firstly: i think il be playing against seamus and his wonderful bells.. so any generic advice is appreciated as well as any critique for my list.
40ss.
Orphelia, no SS as she starts with 6..
1x young la croix, (2)
Francois la croix, (5)
Rami la croix, (6)
Raphael la croix, (6)
Pere ravage, (5)
1x Pigapult, (4)
1x Taxidermist (6)
3x Bayou gremlins (6)
The intention being to kill the normal gremlins and launch piggies to hopefully stop him bunching bells and being chain lured..
Whilst putting the pain on the rest of his crew with the family..

I'm sure by now they could of 'legitimately acquired' some more tho...

I appreciate all the advice, and I'm looking forward to the look on my opponents face when I start hurling piggies at him..
Still a little disappointed that her rulings contradict the background, but at least I have a way around it for the mean while.. thanks all

Bear in mind that if you have a Strategy or Scheme that involves getting places before the opponent, launching Bayou Gremlins is a hilarious way of doing it I can also confirm that the look on your opponent's face when you achieve Deliver The Message with a Pigapulted Gremlin is sweeter than unicorn tears!
..I do like unicorn tears..

The additional soulstones are the number that follows their henchman characteristic, so in a 25ss game if you take a henchman 4, it gives you an additional 4 to play with, a henchman 6 would give you 6 more and so on..
