  1. Because the wendigo doesn't really offer Rasputina much of anything at all.

It is a semi-effective combat minion, with the ability to heal itself and occasionally eat other models, with a very low Wd count.

Combat totems tend to be very lackluster because they are easy to kill, and don't have the combat scores or dmg to go with their intended role.

The Wendigo only has two uses, and one of those uses can be done just as effectively as the essence of power, and that is to cast Raspy's Ice Pillars so that she doesn't have to. The other use is only valid if you plan on bringing her Avatar along, and that is to serve as a Graverobber from the beginning of the Game so that When Avatar Raspy comes out there are Corpse Counters for her to play with.

The Essence, however, directly contributes to supporting Raspy's main function, which is to slaughter her opponent's models with spells. By linking the Essence to Raspy you make her spells more deadly.

So theme aside, which would you choose.

A Totem who is sorta designed for melee combat but isn't very good at it.

    Or

A Totem that significantly increases the amount of dmg that Raspy can put out.

For a graverobber though, I'd rather bring SnowStorm or an Acolyte. They at least won't go poof when you have Rasputina manifest her avatar.

  2. I actually removed a leg from both my nurses, put a pin in instead and then used a tiny bit of greenstuff to give it back the shape. Much much sturdier.

    Nurse2.jpg

In this picture the leg on the left is a paper clip with a tiny bit of greenstuff.

Nice idea, but the deed is done. He pinned the model right through the middle of it's legs. The model is getting primmed black and base will be black too, so it should be hardly noticeable to most.

  3. Have you tried superglue? ;)

I was thinking of something more secure than a plastic to metal superglue bond.

    Pin it? Gorilla Glue Superglue?

My brother is thinking of that. But I am not sure a pin sticking out between the legs (legs are pointy, so pinning there is a no go) will look good...maybe paint it back and hide it visually with the black base.

  4. My brother was trying to assemble my second Nurse for me and while trying to fit the siringe arm (which wasn't fitting snugly like the first Nurse so he had to use a little force), the little peg on the Nurse's leg broke off.

Anyone know of a quick/easy fix?

  5. I got a question, if I wanted to try a Marcus crew only using Puppet Wars models from one of each booster + base set, what would you run?

I think all you could use are:

    Marcus (duh)

    Joss

    Moleman

    December Acolyte (2x)

    Razorspine Rattler (2x)

    Ice Golem

    Guild Hound

    Sirulid (2x)

    Mizaki

    Convict Gunslinger (2x)

    Ronin (2x)

Not a great pool I think. I own the base set and one of each booster (except the Multiplayer one which has Marcus and Joss but I'll get it later) hence my inquiry. :)

  6. In that case, dip away!

I think if you paint the puppets in relatively light, warm colors (tans, yellows, reds), then dipping should work just fine. When you see really nice looking dipped models, often it's because the person went back over the richer colors with the original paint color and a highlight and then matte coated the minis. I've seen armies done this way that you can hardly tell you're looking at dipped minis.

I have dipped armies for other games. I'm just wondering if there it would look good on tiny models like puppets. Hence, why I ask if others have done it before.

  7. Well my folks got me Puppet Wars and all the Pawn Boosters during TheWarstore's Black Friday sale at 35% off retail (plus 5% off on top due to Black Friday). It was going to be their Xmas present to me but they let me open it today when it arrived.

What is the best lists to demo/intro with just a few puppets? As I said, I got the Base Set and the Pawn Boosters. I intend to try it tomorrow or Wednesday with my brother.

P.S. The sale is still going on until midnight if anyone wants some cheap Puppet Wars at TheWarstore.

  8. Should have made this one choice only. I mean, I'm sure we all want all of those things.

I voted wyrd chronicles, because that's what I would like the most.

The reasoning behind multiple choice is to show if there is interest in various choices instead of one. For example, currently almost 2/3 of the voters would like a Token set. It shows that 2/3 of voters would also like Wyrd Chronicles back. At best, that is 2/3 of voters wanting both, at worth, 1/3 wanting both, and 1/3 wanting each choice. Therefore, if they did both, they could please between 2/3 and all the voters.

    :)
