    Agreed, but they're $15 a pop. The list provided emphasized costing less than $50. Going forward his totem and some dogs would be a wise investment. To be honest, you could probably replace the Dead Rider in the $100 list with whatever, as he was included largely as personal preference.

    If you spend $50/$100 on Nicodem you can be happy. If you spend $500 on Nicodem you can still be happy. He's one of those masters you can just keep dumping money on, but you don't need to. At 25ss I'd recommend

    Remove one Punk or one Belle for the soulstones, depending on your taste. Note that this won't have Mindless Zombies under $50 and that you are confined to the "Block" style of play.

    I recommend Seamus' box being among your first purchases entirely because you'll use the Belles so often and you'll want the other models anyways, eventually.

    Interesting, wouldn't it be important to get some Canine Remains? Both the master and assistant can summon them, and they give back the 2 Body part pieces at death, no?

    Edit: Similar to my last post, what is the minimum to play with Uncle Nic (hehe...Nicodem) at 25SS (I play at that level)?

    I ask because since he can summon like half the Ressurectionist minions, the Box + Mindless Zombie blister seems insufficient. That is why I'm thinking Seamus might be the best Master that needs the least stuff added to his box. Even though I hate Sybelle's sculpt (not the model's rules, they're nice)....

    Ok so working off that $50 = £31 quid and using Maelstrom...

    £31;

    Marcus - £5.40

    3 Slurrids - £11.70

    Kaeris - £6.30

    Student of Conflict - £4.50

    Total = £27

    Second set, so this time £35 to spend...

    Jackalope - £4.50 (I'd have this if I had 50p to spare in the first lot)

    Waldegeist Blister - £9.90

    Moleman Blister - £9

    Soulstone Miner - £9

    Total = £32.30

    Night Terrors are the next addition I'd have but they fill the same role as night terrors so it's personal preference/what other factions you play really.

    I'm guessing the SoC is for Kaeris, Marcus taking the killer bunny?

    Can someone please tell me, why the vulture? Nicodem was my first Master and I have never once ran a vulture or two and not thought soon after "I should have taken the Grave Spirit." It costs less, has a crow in its cast(which is even numerically better than the vultures), and has the link/armor abilities. Why do people recommend the vultures? What am I missing?

    My guess if to use the Vulture(s)OAS vectors to pick up Corpses and/or let Nicodem himself cast at longer range.

    As i once said on the Team Marcus topic...I like Marcus in the fluff and concept wise, he is rather unique. But being the budget gamer that I am, it scares me that based on what I've read, just starting a crew with him requires an investment. Not to mention the fact many see him as very weak (wether that is fact or not I do not know, but many say it is).

    Keeping an eye on the budget talk for Marcus in here. :)

    so as my first update.. i have .. acquired.. the updated rulebook, borrowed the two expansion books.. researched some crews.. browsed the wiki pull my finger! and started this thread and am interested in learning with Ophelia LaCroix.. because i think i may add Som'er Teeth Jones Later. I'm concerned about the popularity of gremlins... and difficulty of style of play to learn with .. but also i think they sound funny to me .. so for now i have her in mind.. opposite this choice would be any master from the guild.

    Just to add some notes on your choice of crew (I'm no expert, I'm mostly new, ignore my post count):

    Ophelia with So'mer lends to a gun line list. If you are not into shooting a lot, go So'mer with pigs (it still has some range game, but it isn't a gun line). Check out the Outcast sub forum and the PullMyFinger wiki for more help/tips.

    Well, darn.

    I see a loophole in this auction system. Posts/bids can later be edited and keep the same time stamp. Didn't see that one coming.

    To resolve this, each new bid must be a new post. I'am subscribed to this thread and will confirm by those emails what the initial bid for that post was.

    Its not as elegant or transparent as I'd like, but I think it'll still work.

    You can see if the edit happens bellow the post (as long as the edit was a few minutes after). Maybe add a rule that all edited posts are ignored?

    Just an idea, not interested in the auction myself.

  12. Making sense in the fiction of some Brawls with Hoffman

    Yeah it is in book 3. Dont want to spoil too much before you read the book, its the first story following on from where Hoffman was during 'the event'.

    With no.2 levi works with Sonnia in the first book so he already has Guild ties. And for no.1 perhaps we will.see Hoffman become a ms&u member in the fluff at some point to show the link.

    Thing is, Leveticus's "work" falls into the department that Hoffman is supposed to stop. I can't see them working in the fiction. Funny thing, on the table they a good team...

    1. How well does Lady Justice, the Judge, and the Death Hunters punish Undead crews? I ask because I want to know if the advantage would be too unfair. I don't like one side fights.

    2. How well does the Peacekeeper and Lawyer work with Lady Justice? I think a themed army based on Law figures / arbiters ( The Judge, Lady Justice, Scales of Justice, Peacekeeper, and the Lawyer) might be cool.

    3. Does the Executioner model come with his chopped arms attached or not? I like the sculpt except for the hands.

    4. How well do Lady Justice and C. Hoffman work together in a Brawl?

  24. Outcasts???

    I guess this is a good place to ask. How many of you use Zoraida with Gremlins (Ophelia, Bayou, So'mer, anything of the sort) whether leading in a Scrap or in a Brawl with So'mer (or alone and getting the free Stones)?

    Also, funny thing in January, both So'mer and Zoraida are getting resculpts and Avatars...Bayou month (noticing that is how I came to think of the question).
