  1. Molemen are indeed objective runners and they do it very well. The ability to take a (0) action to move to a friendly scheme marker within 8" makes them surprisingly speedy.

The Ice Golem can also be sped up for a single turn if you take Imbued Energies on it, which you then discard to gain Fast.

Ice Golem can ride Snow Storm too, can't he?

  3. I played in my first Malifaux tournament this weekend after having been a Henchman in the past and running a few of them. I took Raspy (borrowed my Wife's crew since my new ones are a WIP) and matched her with Snow Storm every game. I lost my first game because I was over aggressive with Snow, and could have moved away and completed schemes to win. I went on to win the next 2 to finish 2-1.

Is there even a reason to take an Ice Golem ever again once Wave 2 is official? Snow Storm is a heavy hitter (though not AS heavy as the Ice Golem), with the added range threat, movement shenanigans, and a defensive buffer.

Kind of disappointing as I really like my Ice Golem paint job, and he is better than last edition, but still just doesn't compare to Snow Storm.

  4. Cool, I've been leaning toward both the Building and Streets.

It will take 2 packs of Buildings, 1 pack of Streets, and 4 sets of Clips to make a decent 3x3 table out of Terraclips. I've done this and it is fun to play on, but is time consuming to assemble and hard to transport.

For ease of set of and more variety, I would first suggest building onto whatever Warmachine terrain you already have. trees, hills, buildings, wall sections, etc from Warmachine all work well. You just need MORE.

If you're set on Terraclips, this is what 2 Buildings and a Street set built me. I still change up from time to time and build a full board, but more often lately I just use the buildings standing alone rather than a fully assembled table.

  5. I am less impressed with the Streets set as time goes on. The Buildings set is great and exactly what you need for some fun multi level buildings with balconies. I find myself using the buildings now without putting together a whole board of terraclips. All the photos I see of Wyrd tournaments lately have stand alone buildings as well, not using the streets/board and sticking to buildings.

My new city board with Terraclips will only be buildings standing on their own. Also using other spot terrain (crated, carriages, barrels, fences, etc).

For reference I own 2 Buildings and 1 Streets set. I've posted my boards here before. http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?32425-My-new-Terraclips-board

  6. I've been drawing 2 with Lilith and Primordial Magic, not thinking they could possibly not stack. Seems like a pretty obvious combo with both models being in the first wave in the same faction.

Pg 53 M2E rulebook under the stacking box. "If a crew contains two models with the Rush of Magic ability, that crew would fraw 2 additional cards in the draw phase and then discard 2 cards"

Thanks! I have the cards, but no rulebook yet.

  7. Hi there. I am deciding if I want to pony up (apparently a lot) and return to Malifaux. I have a few questions before I decide.

Are there crews left out of the M2E book, as in are there crews I may own from the previous edition of the game that will be unplayable?

The arsenal boxes come with "wave 1" of new stat cards? $56 for all of them? Will I have to pay another $56 once "wave 2" is released? How many waves until all of the previous models have updated cards?

I tried looking for this information in stickies and big threads, without much luck in finding answers.

  8. I will be running a 35 SS, Fixed Faction tournament at Pandemonium game store in Garden City, MI on February 16th.

Entry will be $10 with all entry fees returned as prizes, plus more.

    Pandemonium is located at:

    1858 Middlebelt

    Garden City, MI 48135

    (734)-427-2451

Registration at 10am. Event starts at 11am.

The format will follow Gaining Grounds format with 90 minute rounds. We will be using Unique Schemes. Scoring will be as Domination format: TP/DIFF/VP. Strategies will be determined the day of the event, and not announced beforehand.

Painting is not required, but there will be an award for painting.

There will also be Dead of Winter style achievements to track for MORE prizes. Two prizes at least will not be based of winning games.

We had a great turn out last time for our first tournament. Hopefully we can keep it up.

    Brad
