  1. You have to remember that the game is in the middle of not only an edition change but also the end of the pewter era and the begin of the plastic age. It's not the best time to get into the game, agreed. Still, I heard getting into Warhammer is way more expensive...

    They aren't comparable games!!

One is a massive wargame for 100-200 models, the other is a skirmish game for 5-10 models.

  2. I'd definitely go with something to run schemes for you. Necropunks/crooligans are both good enough that you could just pick up one blister and do almost everything scheme-y. They both have certain ones they're better at just based on the difference of their movement tricks. If you're trying for plastic only, neither of those are out yet, so I'd sub canine remains in their place, since those you can get in plastic, and you'll probably want a few around anyway.

can you even get blisters anymore?

    unfortunately I would prefer plastic

  3. Damn it! This one is for you, Mr. Z.

In all seriousness: Good ideas. Bete is a bit controversial, but much fun. The Nicodem box, Toshiro, Izamu and Yin and good alternatives. Yeah, Resser are a very well rounded faction. Just take what you like!

I plan to have everything, as usual, just wondering what is good to start with.

  4. I'm starting Ressers today and picking up a few boxes. Seamus and McMorning to start.

I am probably going to grab a few support boxes but don't want to get EVERYTHING in one swoop just yet.

What are some good ideas to get with those 2 boxes?

I was thinking another Flesh Golem, Canine Remains, and maybe Bete.

  5. Contents of the starter set would ideally be as follows;

    - Two starter crews (as above). Basically the same setup as what you'd get in the current boxes (Master, Henchman/Enforcer, Totem, Minions).

    - Two Fate decks.

    - Measuring Tape (optional - most seem to have one of these anyway),

    - Card Terrain (in partnership with Terraclips?),

    - A5 Rulebook,

    - Soulstones (glass gemstones? Surely they'd be super-cheap to source in bulk)

    - Scheme and Corpse Markers. (double sided, so opposing colours for the scheme markers and scrap/corpse on the corpse markers)

    - Introductory Campaign book.

I think all of the strikethrough text is unnecessary, based on my experience with other game starter sets.

The important thing is models and basic rules, and the ability to use those basic rules.

  6. That Guy will often have a strange mark upon his body which is immune to pain. He will often be accompanied by an animal familiar with whom he conspires constantly.

In order to identify him, we recommend binding his hands and feet and throwing him into a pond. Or simply asking if he has ever owned a Warhammer Fantasy Chaos Demons army.

Or played Neverborn in Malifaux 1.5
