  1. Has a card for them specifically with their artwork - ala like the Miss Step card.

Will the Miss Terious and Santana's for the Through the Breach have similar M2E cards? Pretty please?

  2. In this logic the blue line ends when it touches the front of the base. It does not intersect and continue on through the base to the other base edge.

Any part means any part. It doesn't arbitrarily end because it intersects a part of the base. You could draw a line from the back of one base, through it's front, to the targets front, and then to the back and have a legitimate line. That's what it means when it says you can draw from any part to any part. There's no stipulation that the line has to stop as soon as it intersects the base.

  3. Maybe make a Marcus avatar that summons / places more beasts on the field, a la a Tarzan call, rather than him becoming one with the animals. aLilith brings the trees. Pandora and McMourning bring their own friend along, or alter one they have on the field. So it wouldn't be that big of a stretch.

    Marcus can summon The Rhythm

  4. But, I am curious about utility. I don't play ressers, so having a resser crew is not overly spiffy. Had it been 10t, then yea, I'd be happier. If it is a 1-shot thing, that you can only play it one way, well, that leaves something to be desired, as well. Will I buy it... well YES... I just don't WANT to shell out that much. :-D

Just convince the missus to play Malifaux and that should help resolve that issue. As for the models themselves, I have a feeling that while they can be used by Ressers, from the description it seems like they will be, "autonomous," models in that they function on their own during the scenario. Sort of like how the mindless zombies work when Nicodem isn't around.

  5. I'm actually kind of hoping that this is Book 5. Instead of making more and more new masters, henchmen, avatars, and such, give us a year of new encounters and minions to bolster what we already have, giving us new options without throwing even more crews into the mix, aside from maybe this Professor Albus Von Schtook, should he be a character with stats, instead of a looming menace like the Governor General.

Actually I think this is the first of the, "Map Packs," that they had hinted at in a Gamer's Lounge interview last May or so.

  6. BUMP - If anyone want to share a cab from the airport shoot me a PM - I get in at 2:05 Thursday and don't feel like picking up the tab to Lombard all by my lonesome.

I won't be getting up that way till sometime between 4 and 5. I might also not be the best person to give you a ride before the con after what happened last year..... :D

  7. This is a great point, and Wyrd has done a lot right over the past 4 years to earn our trust. As an exercise, what types of things would be on a list of things that if they happened in a V2 then they would ruin the game? What are the things you think Wyrd should watch out for if they were to do a V2?

The biggest thing Wyrd should pay attention to, IMO, is wording. If for nothing more than to help cut down on confusion for players new and old. I would love it if Wyrd could straighten things out a bit and keep things more level in the verbiage department. I feel that it would be easier for them to make changes to models overall without too many catches in the process.

  8. I can answer your first question. LJ's Blind Justice spell creates an aura that gives those (but not her) within it the same ability as Perdita's ability See the Unseen. The biggest advantage of this is that it negates Pandora's Expose Fears, which requires you to beat her in a Willpower duel. Increases in Df could come from abilities that grant higher Df vs ranged attacks, like when firing into melee (the defender gets +1 Df per model it is engaged with).

I don't have my books handy for the other three.

  9. As I recall, Dumb applies Slow if you don't discard a card. If you do discard it, Dumb won't apply Slow... but you'll still have it.

Lucidicide is correct. When a model is summoned it receives slow *IF* it activates the turn it was summoned. So if the Flesh construct activates he'll already have slow. Discarding a card keeps Dumb from applying slow, but since you'd already have Slow it wouldn't matter. If you discarded a joker for Fast, then it would cancel out the slow from summoning.

  10. For me it depends on the model. I'm just as likely to buy a model to paint as I am to use it. Some of the new plastics are cool looking, but I don't know if the scale has been one I like. Things are smaller proportionally overall, and it doesn't feel like I'm painting in 30mm scale.

I don't know if they'll go back, but I have picked up some of the alt masters to paint (at some distant point in the future when I figure out how to manipulate time) as I like their sculpts better.

  11. When a model is paralyzed it's activation, "doesn't occur," in the sense that activation effects (like poison and such) don't go off, but they still count as having activated. They don't get an activation though (confused yet?). About the only effect of "activating" a paralyzed model is that they'll get their melee threat range back (since they would no longer be paralyzed).

  12. Having been on the receiving end of Mordeqai's Izamu more often than I'd care to remember I'd have to say that he is overpowered. It's true Fetid, he is. In my opinion the big issue with Izamu comes down to his healing flip. Anytime he deals severe damage he gets to make a healing flip, and with the Dadao's positive twist on damage you're going to be able to cheat damage a significant portion of the time. Having a defense of 5 when models of a similar caliber means that he's going to be harder to hit, and if he gets his riposte and cheats damage there's a healing flip for him. The positive twist on his attacks increases the likelihood of him getting up to severe without a cheat. With his object 2 reducing incoming damage you have to dedicate a lot of attacks at him, and if he gets his riposte off there's the chance that you'll be taking a step or two back in your attempts to destruct him. Throw in the Grave Spirit and the job just got harder.

From what I've encountered some of the better (read: more viable, not necessarily effective) tactics for Izamu are: Shoot him with an unending barrage or after he activates, and avoid him. In smaller games you can't spare the models/resources to try and take him on, and in larger games you're going to have other threats to deal with. When you're trying to achieve schemes and strategies Izamu is a pain, but if all you do is focus on him then maybe you can take him out. The tradeoff there is that your opponent gets to maneuver his models and achieve his schemes and strategy.

This is just Izamu in general, and I haven't even addressed what happens when he's taken with a specific master. Watch Nicodem paralyze models attacking Izamu, only for Izamu to steamroll them on his activation. McMourning has enough attack power to start chewing through models without regard. Kirai is Kirai. Seamus is the only one I haven't really messed around with, but having fast belles to pull models into Izamu's melee range where they will likely stay a turn or two is a probable strategy (don't quote me on this though).
