  1. When Mei Feng works for Arcanists, can she take the emberling as a totem?

Also, can she use her specific upgrades or is she restricted to the generic Arcanists upgrades?

(In this occurrence I'm using Mei as an example as the info is the same for all dual factions)

The answer isn't actually the same for all dual faction masters. In Mei's case the Emberling itself is dual faction as are all the Foundry upgrades.

  2. Found another gem that I believe is a misprint.

Samael Hopkins and Francisco Ortega are Henchmen but they do not have the Rare 1 limit. I would think that a rare 1 limit could be a default of Henchmen in general, but I can find no such rule. Also, I believe it is a misprint because all other Henchmen specifically state Rare 1 in their Hiring Characteristics.

That being said, as it stands right now, I can hire 5 Francisco's in a crew lead by a 6th Francisco in a 40ss game.

The Valedictorian card also lacks Rare 1 even though she's a Henchman.

  3. I know and understand that some models have more than one :melee to choose from. My point is that it says that to make a single strike multiple models choose a single attack. It does not say that to make a single strike multiple models EACH choose a single attack. The grammar in that sentence from the rules I quoted earlier does not make sense if it means what everyone seems to think it means.

Specifically it says so under disengaging.

It never, ever uses the word "each" in the section about disengaging. If you think I'm wrong, please quote it from the book.

  4. Here is what I believe to be the pertinent paragraph (with comments by me in red):

"To resolve a (single) disengaging strike, the enemy models (collectively) that are engaged with the moving model may choose to take a (single) free Attack Action with any one (single) Close (:melee) Attack which the disengaging model is within range of."

If you were allowed a strike with each model then why when resolving a single strike do you choose an attack from any of the enemies engaged with the moving model?

  5. Do you choose how many Arachnids you are trying to summon before or after you flip? I had assumed it was before, but when I played a game the other day I flipped the 8:tomes necessary to summon two when I had declared I was only going to summon one. I played it that I only got the one spider, but I'm not sure if I cheated myself or not. An argument in favor of not needing to declare before flipping is that the Void Wretch's The Hectic Glow action specifically says to choose something before the duel but Summon The Swarm does not. This same question would seem to apply to most the summoning actions where you make a choice of what to summon.

  6. Oops, TOTAL miss read, I have to apologize.

Direct quote for folks who don't have the Upgrade card:

"(0) Eternal Journey: Place this model anywhere within its Deployment Zone, not in terrain. This Action may only be taken if this model is the first friendly model to Activate during the Turn."

As long as the model is the FIRST model to activate in the turn, note that it does not say first friendly, so it must have been the absolute first model to activate during the turn, I'd think it could be used during the reactivate action.

    Sorry for the miss read.

Uh, it totally does say first friendly model. You just quoted it.

  7. I'm not actually sure this is even allowed. If you look at the Doppelganger she specifically allows you to copy an Action from an Upgrade card where Hannah makes no mention of Upgrade cards. Of course, mentioning the Doppelganger just shifts the problem to her, since she can cause this problem with any number of discardable Upgrades.
