can't gremlin taxidermists use body parts too? or am I off, haven't played against my brother's yet but he mentioned it
-
On a slightly less serious note, I'd love to see a complete set of Masters in appropriate attire for a dress ball; but in action poses, as if the party has gone horribly awry. I'd pay quite well for that as a limited edition set.
kind of like a set based on one of the stories in wyrd chronicles where Leveticus and Rusty Alice go to a party Ramos and the union are hosting at the new pump station?
I'd go with more canine remains, another flesh construct sculpt if I weren't making my own, rotten belles
McMourning in an 'It's Alive!' pose
-
still say, I'd like to see a 3 kingdoms themed arcanist crew, Lo-Pan or some sort of alchemist, with monks and ninjas, assassin-geishas
or a Nemo themed crew, could work for either Arcanists, or Outcasts, nemo, some crew, silurids, a bayou kraken, sharkmen and octo-mermaids, lots of water themed spells
-
been working on scratchmaking a 2nd flesh construct, for those times McMourning stitches one together while another's out on the table:
about 80% green stuff, some polystyrene tubes, and the arm off of a GW ork, tried making him look more stitched together from spares, the mechanicle arm's from a 1.00 gundamn vending machine model

nice work
-
i've seen blank cards, but don't know of any template or system for figuring out points and abilities when they make characters
-
if Malifaux has oceans or any big body of water, maybe a Nemo themed master, he could be either arcanist or guild
if he was Arcanist, more water themed magic he could bring in, give him some sort of fishman or deep one minion, maybe he has a special rule so he can control silurids. or have some kind of sharkmen
Guild, maybe some water abilities still, and guild in old style diving suits,
either one could have for a larger minion, something like Bioshock Big Daddies
-
Also what if there was a person who didn't have any powers, who's crew we're devoid of the use of soulstones. Sort of like an untouchable, resilent to magic, etc.
maybe could even go a step further, make them walking dead zones for magic, abilities that mostly dispelled or nullified the spells of other crews
as far as the civil war, maybe the breach closing kicked off something similar, only instead of being over seceding and slavery, it was over control of the soulstones earthside, the real life civil war would of been before the breach in the malifaux timeline reopened right? or am I off? always sucked with dates in history

yeah, it was a close game against that set up

aside from the fact, to me, proxying is when you use a penny to represent a model, I'm good with conversions, it's half of what I like about miniatures, conversions.
I've generally played with conversions allowed, since my rotten belle, 1 canine remain, are conversions, plus I'm sculpting a flesh construct for a contest at my local store.
my brother's got Ramos, is scratchbuilding his own brass arachnid and electric entity, because he prefer's to scratchbuild than he doe the wyrd models.
Long as the opponent knows what the mini is supposed to be, I'm good, but I don't do alot of tournements anyway. and can understand if wyrd's official stance with any tournaments they may do, is to limit how much of the mini is not wyrd

the nurse in the miniskirt's needle was broken when t arrived in the mail, if anyone has suggestions what to do for the actual needle part, let me know, I considered GSing it, but i don't think I could get it narrow enough to look right
-
Accidentally posted this on another thread, now it looks like it's where it should be.
, I took some pics with hopefully better lighting.
cleaned up the nurses so they're a little less bloody:
my converted rotten belle, One Arm Susan:
and my converted canine remain, was hoping my wyrd ones would have arrived today, but mail is slow:
McMourning:

looks good, you use a GW robot for the base model?
-
yeah, I might repaint them to be a little cleaner compared to McMourning and Sebastian, at the time I was just thinking slasher movie for everyone
-
Finally got pics of my crew, I'll try to get better ones tomorrow, I did the bases with greenstuff, trying for a tiled floor, like a morgue or lab, I'm also converting a canine remains out of a GW wolf, that'll go with the two Wyrd ones I'm waiting on, and a converted rotten belle out of an old reaper mini I can't think of anything else to use it for.
So, pics:
McMourning, it's hard to see in the pic, but I added a rebreather with greenstuff, McMourning's background reminded me of an RP character I played in a steampunk setting, who always wore a rebreather:

Nurses:
Harle:

I thought it was the Three Kingdom's because it was CHina and a couple other asian countries together? unless I understood it wrong
-
i printed Ratty's on cardstock, and works fine for me

Lo-Phang, the Little Emporer, Outcast/Arcanist:
An immigrant from the Three Kingdoms, Lo-Phang came to Malifaux initially with the rail crews. Over time, he built an empire of opium dens, massage parlours, and prostitution rings in the city. Smuggling opium in from Earthside and smuggling out Soulstone.
Lo-Phang was a practitioner of traditional asian medicine back in the Three Kingdoms, when he went through the breach, his magic potential opened up. Now, he enhances his opium with alchemy and ground soulstone, creating Soulpiates, a very popular drug with the magic crowd.
He commands an assortment of unemployed samurai, ninjas, martial arts masters, railroad workers, prostitutes, geisha's and
mages, and does not accept failure from any of them.
The Guild has tried to catch Lo Phang and put a stop to his criminal enterprises, but he always slips past them.
kind of trying for a Lo-Pan/Triads/opium smuggler theme master. I don't know if he'd be arcanist or outcast though.
-
i'd like to see more Three Kingdom stuff too, like as an outcast tong crew to smuggle soulstone out, and opium in, or they could be arcanist.
there just has to be a Lo Pan mini is all I'm asking
-
I think it totally fits the "larger than life" style of the characters. Flip open an X-Men comic. What will you see? Strong female characters in skin-tight tops and massive breasts. I've yet to hear anyone complain about that objectifying women, though perhaps I just instinctually avoid those kind of people!
likewise.
besides, they could always be naked, then they'd really sell well.
and probably garner more eye rolling from some types
Or calling it "one of the most feminist comics on the market."
[Edit: responding to Mergoth.]
to be honest, doubt i'd want to read it if they did call it that
-
looks good so far, looking forward to seeing them thursday
I gotta take pics of my McMournings myself
-
when I think proxy, I usually think of people using pennies in place of a model or something, wich is kind of lame, since part of the appeal of mini's to me is visual.
converted mini's i don't see a problem with, I'm already planning on converting my Mcmourning box once it comes in, since I tend to not want my crew to look identacle to other crews.
my 40k armies are pretty heavily converted too, but as long as you can tell what it is, I don't see a problem
-
just got into Malifaux after a couple demo games at a nearby game shop, also play warhammer 40k, and used to play mageknight and heroclix.
so yeah, hi
