  1. the gunslingers are really truescale space marines without their armor, wyrd figured you could use them for that other comp[anies game as well, and this way lawyers don't show up

actually seeing this, I'm kind of glad i held off getting them, i didn't know about the size, but like how the original looks better, short, potbellied, and i put a cowboy hat on him and named him Barry, Barry the Bastard Ortega

  2. started with wfb/40k and played them through most my teen years and adult hood, mageknight for a short while before whizkidz  was bought by topps and mageknight was killed off, and heroclix until i moved to an area where noone played.  picked up malifaux because 40k became a game to make sure your weekend was clear for and I was looking for something skirmish sized that i couold get a game in within a couple hours., plus i liked the settings and steampunk style.  have been slowly getting into warmachine as well and have a dystopian wars fleet, though i havent played yet

  3. That was that card game, right? I can't imagine a company making a miniatures game would be foolish enough to do that, given the time, effort and money involved in getting a painted army ready!

(Well, except maybe a certain big one, but then there's always rumours they'll abandon old armies)

Squats will return one day..  probably once gw goes under and someone else buys the IP

personally i like the sounds of this, I always liked 40k, just havent gotten the chance to play as often lately as most of the people i used to play are currently focused on other games, and i can never get down to the local gaming store for their 40k nights

setting sounds interesting and I like how the story wwill progress

  4. i like the detail and working with plastic is alot easier when it comes to conversions, but some of the small parts are a pain, I've already lost:

a punk zombie's head (he is now 'headless sid')

a number of hoses and wires from iron zombies and miss step

    the hand the chihuaha's holding

    and

the cylinder that's supposed to hang under the tray McMourning is holding

I unfortunatly have wall to wall carpeting in my current house (wich i hate, but rent, so it stays)  so those pieces are good and gone

  5. one thing i've sort of wanted since i first got into the game was some official rules for making your own master.  like a base stat, costs for addons and upgrades, spells abilities

otherwise some sort of time travel based master for arcanists, like he can do paralyze effects or even an ability to reverse an action so it never happened.  either make him mounted on some HG Wells time machine, or some guy in a suit holding up some fancy mechanicle screwdriver.

and been messing off and on with ideas for a Nemo based master and crew

  6. I don't even use a mini until it's finished, too many games in the past of warhammer where i'm playing agains legs glued to a base, bases, or pennies and coasters, part of the appeal to miniatures games for me is visual.  I want my crew of insane undead mad scientist creations to look somewhat like undead mad scientist creations when i play.

part of why I'm not big on using a plain soda can as terrain either

  7. There's some of the art/minis I do like, the ice golem actually looks like a golem now, and not an anorexic troll, new bells, death marshalls, gremlins still look goofy as they should. and there's some I like the older art beter, like the Viks, Seamus, McMourning (mostly those glasses) so I'm sort of on the fence

Also, just caught this, but what is with Miranda's leg?

  8. having come from a warhammer/w40k background, I'm used to new editions just as you've catched up to a 1000 point army, now need another 1000 points because everyone's playing 2000 point armies because they're in the rulebook. long as malifaux doesn't go that far, I can manage the occasional edition update.

it can't be nearly as bad as 3rd ed DnD going to 4th ed mmo-in-tabletop-form DnD at least

  9. I finally got Yan-Lo, primed the minis with Army Painter black primer, I've used it plenty of times before, on metal, resen, and plastic, never had a problem, so far have not had a problem with Yan-Lo's crew, except Chaiti, whose face and mask are featureless blobs, I thought maybe I went a little too heavy on the primer and covered the details, and went to try scraping some off lightly with a toothpick, and watches as the plastic oozed right off in a clump with the primer.

I've never had this happen before with this brans, and all the rest of the crew look ok, no loss of detail, no meltyness or squishyness. I'm actually not sure why it was just her head that was affected like this, they all come off the same sprue

  10. Sometimes Infinity is about who blinks first, it requires a ridiculous amount of terrain which is often dumped on the table with more concern for lanes of fire than any rhyme or reason.

But the models are really cool, except for the fiddly bits. Just make sure you play for actual objectives because mutual slaughter in Infinity makes for a poor game.

some of the people in my local gaming group are about the same with terrain for Malifaux.

I was interested in getting into infinity, i like the look, setting and the hacking rules, but there's a distinct lack of people playing in my area, and halflingspy who was the only other person around considering infinity, got talked into mercs instead, and mercs just doesn't do it for me
