I've had to do some conversions simply to cover up problems assembling wyrd models (like the smaller surface areas)

That always bugged me a little, lack of conversions, I love conversions, but outside of WH40k/FB I don't see alot

Of
course, I poisoned constructs. Why would't poison effect them?
ugh, poisoning construct was among many things that made me quiy dnd in 4th edition
otherwise, in 1,5, luring sonnia into lava with a belle. luring anything with a elle, i think there were some arachnids who fell for the belle's smelly charms

Nice work, they don't even look as much like a dance line.
and thanks for not calling them grots for short, I've had plenty of mixup's in w40k forums clicking on what i think are converted space goblins, only to find walking surigcal experiments of the dark eldar

i can't vote on Lola's rank

I havent had nearly as many problems with parts popping off the plastics as often as I have the metals. That said, there's been a few plastic models where I've lost heads and arms and other important tiny peices never to be found again (fortunatly i play rezzers). and there's some plastics I just don't like as much as the metals (Like Seamus)

if you're going more for 'Malifaux 100 years later' approach, in some cases they wouldn't be the same characters aside from the neverborn maybe, unless a side effect of soulstone usage makes them long lived, but seeing decendants of Perdita driving down the street doing a drive by magicing would be cool.
one of the things fluff and aesthetic I would of liked more with the normal game, is more steampunk techy elements, ramos and hoffman are great with most of the constructs, but things like the metal gamin, electrical creation's tentacles, or rail golem's arms bring it more into the fantasy magic, than steamtechy, kind of wish for the more metal constructs to be built and just powered by soulstone, less they're magiced into existance. a modern setting for malifaux I'd like to see more techy stuff, computer systems running on soulstone, uzi with magic unlimited ammo or something
a flying delorian
yeah, I'm talking more the setting and aesthetics, the rules would obviously need changes to accomedate things like modern weapons, but I get into games more based on the setting and aesthetics

i kind of wanted to pick up some of the male and female for conversions eventually, is the scale that bad?

hard not to lose some of the bits. I've gotten mini's missing the bit off the sprue that Wyrd's replaced, but if you had the bit and lost it, I don't know if they'll replace
-
oh, maybe i didn't see much difference because i've largely used the whole model, or malifaux bits on a reaper model. I can see where if you're just using a hat or somehing, it might be more noticeable then

I like the art for everything else, but if collette looks like she does in the art, I'm planning on getting the box, but get the reaper mini that looks like Zatanna as the base for a conversion instead
-
scales seem close enough between reaper and wyrd to not be too noticeable

Resser playwise, Mcmourning, he was my first master starting out, and I've really gotten a kick out of poison this tine around.
Fluffwise, Mcmourning again, the crazy mad scientist archtype's a;ways been my favorite, Molly comes a close second, since something about what's essentially a zombie getting self awareness enough to break from her master's control appeals to me.
Arcanist playwise, Rasputina, I like nthe whole sitting back and just blasting away through cold hearted models, and blocking you with pillars.
fluffwise, Ramos, mad scientist archetype again, only mor machines than stitched up corpses

Lilith is also a demon (or a type of demon) in some middle eastern mythologies.
early versions of the judeao/christian myth, she was also adam's first wife, and mother of all monsters
-
McCabe definitely has Indiana Jones inspiration behind him.
Yan Lo gives me a lot of Lo Pan (Big Trouble in Little China) vibes.
McMorning is every mad scientist trope, which themselves are rooted in (the more modernized) Dr. Frankenstein.
yan-lo as lo-pan, wan as egg, brent as burt

belles-obvious
necropunk-objective grabbing
punk zombie-cutty
canine-cheap and annoy the enemy
flesh construct-hitting things

I just run who I feel like, but seeing how mostly my arcanist selection has either been ramos or rasputina, doesnt give me alot of choices there anyway

I can remember a game where I was playing as Seamus. Due to lucky card draws, and positioning none of my Belles died and by the end of the game I had summoned another 6 of them. Strangely I don't have 9 Belles in my collection, so Kirai, Molly, and every other female Rezer I had came out. Sometimes things like this can't be expected, so I do feel some leeway is acceptable. Where I would be more Leary would be summoning a Shikome when you have 0 in your collection.
yeah, i ended up with the original metal belles, a reaper mini converted to a belle (it's a girl, in short frilly clothing, who looks decayed, a good alt in my book), and the new plastic belles. I havent bothered getting the redchapel box because, aside from not liking the johnnydepp'smaddhatter look for the plastic seamus, I don't think I'm ever going to have that many belles on the table at once.
but I have been wrong before, I have reaper bones zombies on bases, zombies taken from the old Mageknight line, as well as wyrd zombies, just because I already am painting the same identicle zombie 18 times for zombicide.
as far as the general proxy/conversion thing. I've played warhammer and warhammer 40k for years before hand, and (especially with GW prices going up) have seen plenty of alt minis, scratch builds, and conversions, as well as own pleny of alts, scratchbuilds and conversions. When we referred to proxies, it was usually a nailbox used for a drop pod, or coasters used as tyranids. Malifaux is honestly the first time I ever heard of alternative minis from another line, scratchbuilds, or conversions referred to as proxies in the same vein as pennies or a sodacan thunderbird, and early on it seemed like they were looked down on.
Honestly, if you put some actual work into it (no blank bases or unpainted SM legs), it's recognizable for what it is (with some leeway for similar minions like belles/doxies), and on the right base, I'll play your crew with no problems.
I have some proxies/conversions, mostly either because I own the original and wanted a second one that did not look identicle, the mini was not available yet, or I flat out did not like the look of the official model (most of them are good, there's a couple i'm not a fan of).
Aside from the zombies, I have a 2nd, scratchbuild flesh construct maybe 85% greenstuff, 2 seishen made from greenstuff, scratchbuilt brass arachnid, electrical construct made from an old o.g.r.e. tank (taken off my brother's hands, he didn't like the tentacle ball look of the official one and I agree) large arachnid made from a combination greenstuff and random sprue bits, a december acolyte converted from a mageknight mini and joining my other 3 plastic wyrd ones on occasion. and am working on a custom rail golem, because while I like the legs and head of the offisial model, the arms don't look mechanicle enough to me and just look cartoony.
I have bought by now, maybe a few hundred dollars worth of wyrd minis, so I'm not doing this to avoid paying for minis, it comes down more to personal tastes. I like seeing other people's creativity as well with their crews, and wouldnt want to see that go away completely. I'd like to see wyrd actually put out a line of just bits to use for conversions, heads, arms, bodies, and like the hats and weapons they put out before , hopefully we might get that with the through the breach minis.
and I will always go by what my signature says, it's not proxies unless I'm using pennies to count as zombies.

never really liked NMM, it never really looked right to me. I usually just paint the metals black and drybrush a few coats of different metallics to get what I want. but that's just me.

only k-12 educational wikis? well, there goes any reason I go to wikispaces.

we still have to get the brewmaster vs mcmourning whiskey game in sometime Mr. Tezla

actually last night after talking to some fellow players, came up with a neverborn teddy master, he can take teddies, that 4 armed bear, and some sort of teddy voodoo doll I guess, henchman can be some twisted version of Teddy Ruxpen or Winnie the Pooh, or Paddington ( the new creepy one). and he'd wear a bear suit, and his name....Teddy Roosevelt

gremlin backyard wrestling master and crew (keeps with the hillbilly vibe most of them have) the crew would be like the gremlin version of the rail crew, all combos and fighting moves
