Ok thanks for the advice everyone
i'll definitely try out gamin but i kind of feel like gunsmiths would be better. Best to try both things i guess.
So do you think this non gamin list would work well? i'm a Colette player so i'll probably use her if i need a lot of mobility. This is intended to be more of a very shooty, raw power list as an alternative to Colette.
Arcanists Crew - 35 - Scrap
Rasputina -- 7 Pool
Essence of Power [2ss]
Kaeris [8ss]
Student of Conflict [4ss]
Gunsmith [6ss]
Gunsmith [6ss]
Silent One [6ss]
fig for fig what i wone the Snowcon turney with up here in Maine with. Great list hope it treats u well

I like the idea of this list but i dont know how practical it is. Von shill is A great pick for some speed just remember not to leave him to open at the start while your apponant is out activating you.
other then that i would say you've got an interesting list and ide like to hear about how it dose.
-
I would disagree on Kaeris needing fire gamin. I would follow what Ukrocky was doing with her at tourney's. Her range is very good, so move Kaeris upfield a little bit and hide her behind some piece of completely LoS blocking Terrain.
I agree with this I dont think Gamin are nessisary at all I one a state turney here in Maine with a fire and Ice list and mine didnt incude Gamin at all i dont see them as being all that efective yes they help with range but i think they slow you down even more then you already are and that hurts Rapy more then the extra range helps her.

I love running Kearis with Colette I like running Colette and a performer and then throwing in kearis and some fire gamin not a sound list but its fun when your looking for something differant and i love seeing people crap when they see both Colette and Kearis charging at them.

Rules-wise, I don't know where "suffer" happens on the damage sequence, but I suspect it's before "Apply wound total to defending/affected model". Especially because it's possible the model is suffering Dg.
I believe that is how it had been spelled out I fell the overall view is exactly the way you see it.
-
remember the speed you have Ditas crew can really push outhers around hardcore ive seen in happen a bunch of times shes good at pushing people away from locations you want, but as said befor try not to get to companion happy and alow your oponant to out activate you that would be a vital mistake
-
as I read it you would have to activate it each turn to get the abilities someone can corect me if i'm wrong but thats the way i seeit and have been playing it
-
As an avid Raspy player i like the list for the most part. I personaly fell that Snowstorm is a bit costly for raspy yes he can be good in a few places i feel he is really situational. I think a better use of the points would be to pick up the kearis box and possibly use Kearis she helps put a little speed in the crew and brings in a bit of extra firepower for the enimy to worry about or even useing the gunsmiths they are really powerfull and can keep up with just about anything out there

but what i feel everyone has missed but i may be mistaken is that Paralized also says on pg 34. " "while paralized, a modle has no melee range, cannot take any kind of action...." so i dont think machiene pupet would work because the model cant make any kind of action period as stated on pg 34.
-
I know this was brought up a while ago, but i was just wondering if there was any definante answer to my question..... so the basic question would be if an attack would cause a blast near nicodem and the blast marker was in range of him could he use zombie fodder to negate the blast.
sorry to be a pain about this
-
Its the same reason people target weak models around hard to hit models that can shunt hits off onto others like kirai and pandora. This has allready been answered months ago by rules marshals
http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=19616&highlight=Martyr
would this be the post you speak of...lolol... i see the point you make but it dosnt say anything about the zombie fodder abilty and I cant see a conection between Martyr and Zombie Fodder.
-
Well, it's specifically an "action" that causes Dg or Wd. So things that are not actions that cause Dg or Wd may not be attacks. Abilities or Triggers may cause Dg and Wd without being considered attacks, for instance.
I believe the normal ruling is that a is not an attack but rather a side effect from a successful attack. So zombie fodder would not block it.
I think "hit" is the operative word here. Zombie Fodder only protects Nicodem when he is hit by an attack, whereas blasts don't hit what they touch/overlap. The rules just say that models touched by a blast suffer the damage.this is how i thought it was as well. The one person i have run into this discussion with says he wont except the answer unless it comes streight from a Marshal.

Where in the book does it say this? Becuase I honestly can't find it. The freikorps says immune to . If the weapon deals damage, then they are immune.
I agree no where in any of the blast rules dose it make the distinction I read it as if it deals:blast then it is damage.... unless I’m missing where it's stated differently.
-
I believe that the answer would be no because I'm not targeting him with an atack and he is not participating in the dule so he would have nothing to negate.
-
In a recent game I have played, a rules discrepency came up with Nicodems Zombie fodder ability.
If I target a mindless Zombie within two inches of Nicodem and Get a blast marker to touch him and deal damage can he still use the ability to negate the hit without being the initial target?

I still feel there is a lot to potentially be added to Malifaux, and I'd hate to see the company rest on it's laurels now.
Totaly agree Wyrd needs to keep going with this because for gamers like me who really love the fluff of it all Each expantion twists the story a little more give you a little more insite and leaves new questions to be answered even if it's a little one a new one always gives the game a little more spunk...

I see the point but I think it works as is Marcus would have to much pull if the Raptor had it suited. I think it works well right now if you think you'll need it keep a Tome's in your hand use hand management to make sure you have it for the chance to do it.
-
I have run this exact list and had a good bit of luck with it. It dosnt look like it can dish out to much untill you really look at it I would probubly think about gunsmith's though they are one of the best range options the Arcanists have
-
Pretty sure that's not what he's saying. If you obey your totem to obey the activation has not changed. So it would have been cast by 2 different models but still twice during the activation.
I apologise I missunderstood what he was asking
-
I picked up Marcus and play him with any beast really it just seems fun to run around with a raptor or four and to bring snowstorm....I love the look on someone’s face when I put 20 guild hounds on the table just for fun.....if your looking to just have a good time Marcus can give that to you no matter what mixture of beasts you use with him...but don’t forget you don’t only have to use beasts with him a few other arcanist minions work well with him to like gunsmiths...
-
I believe you can because your totem activating is separate from your master activating the Obey activates it allowing it to make a one action of its own so yes I believe but I may not have all the facts.
-
No standard sizes, I always say the more terrain the better the game will be it makes completing goals in the game more of a challenge of you have to wind around tones of forests and buildings....it adds a bit of spice to an already awesome game
-
I've played a few 2v2's in my short time playing and we've played it as each team is fighting for there own 8 points and can help each other to get it so everyone would have their own strats and schemes... its work out well for us and makes a lot of cool and weird things happen in the game.
-
My assumption would be "model acting" = the model who's action/activation it is.
I agree Model acting would be the Model that used the action or cast the spell that is causing the push to happen.
