Easy way to get around that...Turn 1-3 work on getting both manifest requirements then next turn get Wendigo into combat shoot him with rasp and kill him with either a blast or however you can. 0 Avatar, boom.

Haha I actually did that too in round 3, Freikorps vs. Lilith I believe. I hid my own counter from myself, lesson learned! Yeah it was a great weekend and I actually liked the impact your VP had on your standings, it made me focus on getting VP more than I would have otherwise.

Between watching the big competitive players in the tournament, playing a few pick up games, and rereading everything I have to say this was a very fulfilling experience for me. I am definitely coming back but next time I'm competing!

well I know Nicodem works alright straight out of the box but some extras would be really helpful for you (my friend picked up the box recently). I own Colette and yeah straight out of the box works and really the only thing that would be missing is some Mechanical Doves, I have the Corphee Duet but I don't use them that often even though they are really great. Kirai without extra seishin and gaki is a definate challenge as they are a pretty big part of her game play and I know absolutely nothing about Hamelin...so I'm no help there.

Malifaux is pretty versitile gameplay wise. I think the correlation between shooting and terrain is crucial. Shooting does alot better when there is terrain to duck behind. Perdita is definately able to handle herself in combat because she has gun fighter which allows her to use her guns in CC. Pair that with execute and quickdraw and somethings going to die fast. The best teacher is practice, it was hard for me to transition to VP's as well but now I cant picture it any other way.

Also Colettes Magicians Duel (the one you mentioned) does work against Perdita is good but you could still defend. Not nearly as bad as it is if you had Von Schill who would be reduced to a CA of 1 for defense.

This tactica has made up my mind for a new crew. Before I was planning on picking up McM first but i have since rearranged my priorities. Thanks for this awesome tactica!

I find that the Arcanists have more 'style' when it comes to their game play. I currently own Colette and Rasputina and play against marcus at least once a week. They are great at what they do even their minions play a bigger role than normal. When I run Colette its not rare for me to pass on the Duet even at 35SS, they DEFINITELY are amazing but it seems a little unfair to me...Back to my first thought. Arcanists play a certain way and have a million and one ways to make sure they get to do it. Example, in one activation with Rasputina I once killed Abuela Ortega, Francisco and Sonnia Cridd, and once with Colette I had destroyed 2 of 3 pieces of evidence by turn 3.

As a side note, Collodi may be able to move that far but almost nobody can take out a master as easily as Colette can.

anyone care to inform me a little bit as to what she does? I sadly enough dont have book 2 so I dont know if her stats exist or what she does... Im on a mission to get all the henchmen as they come out. All i really need is a brief summary.

I have banned myself from playing masters against my friends because it can get messy. Hence my excitement to pick up Collodi and Lucius.

hey guys there is going to be another demo this tuesday at hobby works, I have alot of crews available for anyone who wants to come.

Just pick up the rules manual and two boxes, if the manual is too much you can use the pdf of it on the sidebar, it has all the basic rules but the other stuff is 'censored'. You can also pick up the card decks, trust me buying it is alot simpler than using a normal deck.

My marionettes arms refuse to stay on no matter how much green stuff I use. Uncool because the showgirls are now my Number 1 crew. That and the Mature Nephilim my friend has falls apart at least once every game. I am also now afraid of picking up Warmachine, this talk of annoying models is unnerving.

Oh I have put the fear of Taelor in my friends with her I have one shot a mature nephilim (Cheated Red Joker) and survived a round of focused fire from the Ortegas. The second feat was all thanks to the librarians furious casting and a low ram. The two make a really solid pair if your viks aren't in danger. List is solid and the large soulstone pool is definitely going to help convict gunslinger is amazing....i love the model and the way he plays can be borderline ridiculous.

this was a 25SS battle, shared treasure hunt, I played the Freikorps box, dropped a Freikorpsman and took the Convict Gunslinger. I played against the Ortegas straight out of the box.
