  1. Ok so a little confused about a model with Ruthless attacking Pandora. Would Pandora operate as normal when attacked by a model with Ruthless and do all her normal WP duel tricks. Or does Ruthless change the way all those tricks she can do work, aka she can still use her WP for defense but doesn't count as a WP duel? Just like some outside input on this.

  2. I think you have to find a SS balance locally depending on your player base. For instance in my local area Malifaux has to compete with established Warmachine/Hordes and GW groups. Three of the selling points of Malifaux are: the rules, the initial cost, and wide range of themes. Like for my area I may try to keep the SS to a starter box and 1 to 2 models (or 3 to 5 for the gremlins) to try and get newer players interested in Malifaux even though they own WM/Hordes or GE stuff.

  3. So is the Lone Marshal replacing the Pale Rider? Just noticed minus the death mechanic the Lone Marshal is similar to Pale Rider. Or did Wyrd state somewhere that all the ME1 models will be used in ME2. Just curious due to it being my second favorite easter egg to use , Sue being the first.

  4. I always understood dg and wd's as this. You attack do x amount of damage, then any defensive countermeasures for damage are used aka armor,evasive,bulletproof to deduct the amount of damage done. Then all damage turns into wounds and applied to the model.

    so Mcmourning's ability states he heals for the amount of damage his melee strikes do, so no matter how many wounds are on the target he heals the damage he did (because he ignores armor)

  5. I look forward to "The Armor"... He is a beat stick that is capable of helping himself heal when beating things down and if he should somehow die, he can come back with Yan Lo and with Nicodem, he drops 3 corpse counters which are also incredibly useful.

    I thought Nico could only summon nonunique models, which Izamu is definitely not.

  6. Wong is an offensive asian stereotype. Shame on you Wyrd! Oh, he's a Gremlin merc who does magic too, both in terms of buffs and offense. Speaking of which, neither of the gremlins like 10-Thunders models. They remain pretty true to the source of their inspiration. ;)

    You do realize Bert Jebsen, Gracie and Wong are this books little easter eggs aka Sue aka Johnny Cash, Right?

    All these characters are from Big Trouble in Little China, Bert is Jack Burton not only does he look like jack but some of his abilities reflect this aka " All in the Reflexes" and "Big Talker". While Gracie is based off Gracie Law in name only and Jacks Big Rig, The Porkchop Express. While Wong is Wang Chi/Egg Shen, Wang was Jacks best friend and Wong's abilities are more in tune with Egg Shen with a "3 Demon bag" and a "Magical Iron Fan or something I can't recall". SO Wong is based off of 2 Asian characters in an awesome movie, wouldn't really say that's stereotyping, more of a homage if anything.

  7. Cool thanks for the extra info the Rising Powers groups cards seem to lack the information the V1 cards do like McMorning's Nurses have the base contact buff but it says it ends at the closing phase specifically. Just would have been nice to spend more time playing less time playing rule raider.

    But back to Kirai are there any other spirits outside her Revenge spirits good to start off with? Like I am thinking of getting some Night Terror's, The Hanged and Jack Draw and start with them and summon the others. Any other spirits to keep an eye out for?

  8. Quick question about Kirai's abilities and the way this would play out;

    Into the Spirit World says she turns into a spirit, is she a spirit for the rest of the encounter or does it end at the closing phase? It never states when it ends.

    If Kirai uses the above to turn her into a spirit can she use Soothe spirit on herself? For that matter if any model has an ability that states Target Friendly BLAHBLAHBLAH within 8" and then do this can the model doing the ability target itself?

    These two questions have some up in our group often, not just for Kirai but other people with abilities like the above; i.e. Cassaundra's Southern Charm is one example.

  9. I had a question about the Henchman Program. I live at Kadena AFB, Okinawa, Japan and we really have limited access to players and no stores that sell Malifaux. I just started getting into Malifaux and noticed the Henchmen program. So my question is with our limited player pool being stationed in Okinawa and no access to local stores (I use FRP Games and Warstore websites) should I even bother applying to the henchmen program?
