How modular are to pieces?

I can answer at least some of your questions. He's not finished it, but I have been badgering him a bit because I want to play on it. He's been lost in Dead Game Limbo for a few weeks trying to play necromancer with some defunct game systems. As to how modular it is, each piece is two by two feet. All of the buildings are attached and we have a drawer full of boxes, barrels and fences to add to them.

High humidity and temp are the key. My buddy does it to his Tyranid army on purpose. Spray outside in the summer just before a good rain and that should do it. Or find a sauna. Bathroom after a shower is also not a bad way to go, but harder to control.

I vote he should just give it to me.

It looks heavy as all hell. I bet the cost to ship it would be astronomical.

I'm part owner of a shop in Cincinnati and we have a huge Malifaux group. I have not seen any support from Wyrd yet but we manage to do our own promotion. We have a few creative individuals that make some great boards and terrain to play on and we regularly have a campaign of some sort running. We usually charge a nominal fee to enter the league which goes towards prize support of some kind for the winner at the end of the campaign. The best thing you can do is keep playing and be passionate about it. People will see that and they will gravitate towards your games.

You go ahead and use dozens of cheap synthetics for a year, I'll use my 3 moderately priced natural brushes. And then we can see how much cheaper the synthetics are.

I do a lot of painting and I have an assortment of both synthetics and natural bristle brushes. The naturals are fantastic for oil and water color painting, on a canvas, but I've found that they don't hold their tip and tend to get stray bristles far too often to be practical for miniatures.

I buy my synthetics in bulk at hobby lobby for around $6us for pack of 6 assorted sizes. The brands change often and they usually have a 50% off sale every few months. I'll usually pick up 3-4 packs at a time and I'm set for a few months.

Also, somebody mentioned how the synthetics suck up the color and it dries at the base. This is true of any brush if they are not properly cleaned. I recommend a cleaning jar with a furry sponge in the bottom, like this one; http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/brush-cleaning-jar-and-pad-318451/

This will help extend the life of your brushes as well.

I like option 3 with the cars emerging from the breach, but I would place it a bit further out and add a flat car to create a "bridge" across the platform. From a playable point of view it will allow for some LOS blocking as well as a quick way through without wasting turns going over or around the train and it can always be loaded up with boxes and barrels if players want to block the path. Another option would be to have the car in the breach be fixed but allow the other cars to be placed on the tracks as needed with a few different options available.

I like the synthetics. They don't last long but they are cheap, easy to replace and they're great while you have them. I usually get mine at either Michael's or Hobby Lobby. I'm not sure if you guys have those across the pond, but I'm sure you have something similar.

A few years back I had just finished putting a beautiful finish and a hard coat on a set of 15 commissioned, Iyanden Wraith Guard and I took to the spray booth to apply a layer of dullcoat....little did I know, I had grabbed a can of black primer in error. I had sprayed the whole front side of them before I realized my error. Luckily for me, it was a light coat and as I had used a relatively liberal application of hard lacquer, it was a small job to scrub off the black spray, but I was livid that I had made that error at all.

You should have kept your warmachine bag and picked up some more troop trays.

I own a shop in Cincinnati and one of our customers makes a really nice set. If any of you are interested I can see what we can do about getting some out to you...or at least putting you in touch with him directly.

The Bo-At is about 95% done. I'm just wrapping up the cross beams and sails and we should be good to go with install to the board. I'm pretty excited by the progress and I can't wait to play on this board. I'll have to finish up the paint on my resurectionists so we can have a brawl to break it in!

I'm gonna go with lower parallel dock, one fishing shack. That would break up line of site without cluttering up the dock too much and provides a playable space with a bit of cover.

I just picked up a nice stain for the boat and finished some of the rigging. I'm really liking how it's coming along so far.

The buildings are based on the old GW Mordheim buildings that have been beefed out with foam core. the Boards are based on blue sheets of insulation foam, which is also what I used to frame out the ship. I spent three hours last night working on the rigging....it may be my undoing, but it will look awesome!
