Starting Sunday, June 17th, Neverland Games will be hosting regular events as part of the Worldwide Dead Heat League.

    Are you ready!?

Sunday June 17th and July 1st from 12-6pm as well as every Wednesday from 5-9pm. Demos are also available during these times, so if you haven't learned to play yet, it's time...

  3. No. Gunslinger only allows you to make melee attacks with the ranged weapon, it doesnt extend your melee range to 2" except in those circumstances. This means that the melee range of the gunmith is 1" (its bash range) when it isnt actively attacking.

    Actually:

This model can make melee Strikes against enemy models up to 2" away with the indicated ranged Weapon. The indicated Weapon gains :melee and loses :ranged when making these Strikes. Models with this ability can block disengaging models with the indicated Weapon. Talents that reference the indicated Weapon may be used in melee.

So being that you can make a disengaging strike with your weapon, and can choose to attack a model 2"away (note the lack of requirement for being within the other model's melee range), the models are then engaged, and I would believe Gunfighters do then have a melee range of 2".

---------- Post added at 09:56 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:53 AM ----------

More importantly, why would you be able to block a disengaging model if it wasn't engaged

  4. I would tend to think that "additional effects" as it pertains to weapons, is anything that affects the target, other than damage. So magical isn't something that affects the target, but rather a trait of the attack, whereas tokens (be it poison, burning, or blight) are applied to the target in addition to damage.

But that's just my take on it...

  5. 1. Yes, since they take Damage caused by the Ignite weapon.

I have to disagree based on this:

Are all models touched by a blast affected by its additional effects?

When a Blast is generated by a Dg stat only the original target suffers the additional effects (RM p.45), unless stated otherwise. When the Blast was generated by an effect without a Dg stat, all models touched by the Blast are affected (RM p.21).

Since the Blast is off of the Dg stat of Ignite, I don't believe models hit by blasts will get burning tokens.

  6. Our plans for Episode 2 were shattered when upon recording, the Malifaux FAQ/Errata was released. So we spend some time talking about the new documents, and some significant changes from those documents. We still managed to get in a game review of Lords of Waterdeep, among other things.

Make sure to tune in to listen for the winner of the Episode 1 giveaway!

  7. I understand what you are saying, but expected reciprocation is not my criteria for being nice. :1_Happy_Puppet2:

While that may be true, games tend to work better when everyone follows the same rules. It's not so much about reciprocation as it is consistency.

Of course, this is totally theory-based, because in reality, I let must things slide save for the most critical moments in the game.

  9. It's one thing, especially in friendly games, to allow them to take it back, but in competitive events, especially if you're playing against an experienced player, your opponent should know better and take care to ask about things like I2I BEFORE declaring an action.

That, and if it's a pivotal moment in the game, your opponents mistakes aren't your responsibility. Or for that matter, what happens when you play someone who doesn't return the favor?

  10. Nah, its fine. I was just teasing. I just had to dig up my Apple ID and then unlock my password. But while I was in there I left reviews on all the other Malifaux podcasts as well so that should make them all happy.

What's funny is, I've had to reset that stupid password like 3 times already. They make the requirements so strict, I can't remember it. But, maybe that's just me...

  11. He can use counters he carries for anything other than Arise.

Still, compared to the Canine Remains having a (0) to send all of their carried counters to their master the Vulture ability leaves much to be desired.

True, but the dogs still have to be carrying the counter, whereas the vulture can just be near it, and since height isn't taken into account, your vulture can fly 10"(?), perch on anything it wants, send back a corpse counter, and be out of reach for attacks.

    Better than dogs as collectors...
