I believe so, unless of course you're casting it through Magical Extension, because to Hippo, it's still an Ace
-
My sprue had each piece very clearly marked (A, B, and C) first thing I did was make three piles of archers. And yes, assembling heads before attaching to bodies is the way to go.
-
Like, for example, the Doppelganger who can copy t hings, like stats, and abilities, and spells

What I'm being told on that front is that the casting flip is an Offensive Resist Flip.
What!? :facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:
There is absolutely no such thing as an "offensive" resist duel.
Casting Sequence
1. Declare Spell and Target
2. Casting Duel
a. Caster Flips Starting Casting Total
b. Caster Changes Starting Total or Passes
c. Caster Determines Final Duel Total
d. Caster Declares a Trigger
e. Caster Determines Success
3. Resist Duels (if necessary)
a. Resisting Model Flips Starting Resist Total
b. Resisting Model Changes Starting Total or Passes
c. Resisting Model Determines Final Duel Total
d. Caster Meets Additional Requirements
e. Resisting Model Declares a Trigger
f. Resisting Model Determines Success
4. Apply Spell Effects
As you can see, the Casting Duel is completely separate from the Resist Duel. And in no way is anything like an 'offensive' Resist Duel

He's a construct, which covers that.
Anathema, which may be even more relevant in Storm of Shadows with Yin, the Panangalan

Raspy, take Kaeris and use Ice/Flame Pillars to control where your opponent can move.
Lucius and Lady J are super fast together, but the Cordon Off ability on the Guild Guard is another nice way to control the field.
Hope that helps a little! Welcome to the forums!

Just finished listening(slow day at work), I may enter the short story contest to win a copy of Zombicide even though I own it already. I could always use more Zombies
No discrimination based on current ownership (unless you currently own magic cards :-P)

Our first full episode since Gen Con, and we had a lot to catch up on. This episode we have a first look at Storm of Shadows, Wyrd Plastics, and War Room; as well as some exciting upcoming events, including your first chance to win a Santana, and an in-depth review of Zombicide by Guillotine Games and Cool Mini or Not and our biggest contest yet!

To the powers that be: vBulletin (the power behind these very forums) does support mobile forum apps, numerous other forums they power are on Google Play.
Maybe something worth looking into...
As for other things, not necessary but could definitely be useful.

Playing a brawl is the most likely.
The only other way is to have something transform into it.
So you could field a Sabertusk Cerberus and have Myranda Transform into another one.
Since she isn't a proper Cerberus she doesn't count as one for the rare limit.
Myranda is the only model I know of who can shapechange and so its only rare beasts that this applies to at the moment.
Rare limit applies to sape change as well, so you cannot have 2 cerberus outside of a brawl.

Sunday is the last day to fight over Malifaux!! This 6 hour event will give you the chance to boost your factions control in the final hours before the victor is determined!
A preview copy of Storm of Shadows will also be available to peruse, as well as some of the new Wyrd plastics if you didn't have a chance to come to GenCon and/or are still waiting to receive your order.

Checking for a legal target is different than checking if a model could be affected.
"This spell may only target a model with burning tokens" is very different from "this spell has no effect on models without burning tokens"
It could be poor wording but
Targeting Restriction =/= Unaffected
Consider shooting into melee and randomly hitting a model that's out of line of sight. For consistency sake, let's say it's Rasputina casting December's Curse. The spell didn't check for target legality after it's been randomized.
So if targeting restrictions were checked before aplying the spell's effects, ranged spells would never be randomized to models out of LoS.
Just my take on it

Also, 1.5 has the full rules as available in the Rules Manual, so buying one of each would still allow you each to have a set of rules, along with model stats and fluff!
Welcome to Malifaux!

That version of Shrug Off was printed before the rules manual. Prior to the rules manual, we had poison counters, not poison tokens. Because of confusion with corpse and scrap counters, the term token was introduced.
A new version of Shrug Off, printed on the Latigo Pistoleros reads "Discard one token or end one effect..."
Hope that helps!

I would say you are correct.
Immolate says that it may only be cast on a model with burning tokens. Kaeris met that retirement when she made her casting duel. Sonnia's trigger only redirects the effects of the spell.
This is in the same way that a Kirai with burning tokens can redirect the effects of Immolate to a Seishin without burning tokens. Same with Pandora's Martyr.
Hope that helps!

I think Dawn and Paul are trying to steal my Malifaux podcast whore title.
And how come no one asked me to chat at the con on a podcast...You didn't want the ramblings of an insane man
We did ask, I think you responded with something like "grumble grumble malifaux...grumble grumble parking...grumble grumble air mattress..." :-D
But do be expecting an email after the standard GenCon recovery week.

So a couple of things:
Welcome to the wonderful world of Malifaux!
Terraclips really is a hobby product, not terrain in a box. So build it how you like, or get together with someone and build a table together, there's a lot of cool stuff to do with it, and be sure to check out the Terraclips section of the forum for videos and builds.
To build a full 3x3 Malifaux Table, you really need 2 boxes of Terraclips, which means each player, with one box, could build a 3x1.5 board, and then the two are pushed together, making it a little more fair.
Additionally, don't forget about the flip to choose deployment zone. So while you may be more familiar with a board you built, your opponent could wind up choosing the first deployment zone. So it really is in your best interest to build it as balanced as possible.
If you're just showing people how to play, you don't need a complex setup. A little blocking terrain is good, but a sparse board does just fine.
I hope that helps!

It's worth noting as well, that although the Beckoners are not dual faction, they can still be used by Jakob if he's running as a TT Master.

We wrap up GenCon day 3 in a chat with Paul (@abraxus04), Dawn (@sassylady1970), and Alex (@badmalifauxer).
A little late due to hotel upload limits...
Enjoy!

Only tangentially related, but I love both the movie and the song Lost Boys, so I'm definitely going to have to check this out soon.
We're actually based off of J.M. Barrie's Lost Boys (Peter Pan). But, you should definitely listen anyway! Much Ten Thunders info will be coming as soon as we can digest it all!

Join us on our adventure through Gen Con at 2 am, then go away, so we can catch some shut eye...

Don't worry we are aware of Hamelin having issues, but we are not going to rush through changes. We want to make sure the changes are right before rolling them out across the boards.
But we are looking at him.
I definitely appreciate time well spent, making sure that an adjustment to Hamlin isn't a cuddle.
Personally, I believe Indiscriminate Void needs revisited. One of Hamlin's biggest weaknesses was having to keep his Stolen within 3", which made him extremely vulnerable to pulses, blasts, and even black blood. Not to mention limiting his movement, since the Stolen can't keep up.
Obviously my intention is not to bring back the infinite loop, but I think the changes to Indiscriminate Void removed one of his fundamental weaknesses.

I'll give up Neverborn, I kind of already have, but yea!...
Product Release Order: Do you think it affects competitive play?
in Malifaux Discussion
Posted
A lot of this depends on what is meant by "released to the general public." Though the pre-releases at GenCon were available to everyone, I personally wouldn't consider that a "release." Which would technically mean those models are not legal in an 'Official' tournament.
But, as most tournaments aren't "official" and I certainly wouldn't disallow the use of the new models, I can see where the pre-release models might give an advantage to those factions. Disregarding the pre-releases however, if you are to believe the release schedule on the war store pre-orders, it seems to be fairly mixed in the schedule.
