  1. I actually kind of figured they would try and avoid religion (Since they don't have a single thing regarding it yet).

    How so?!

in the Fluff (at least) there is a specific scene where a minister is delivering a sermon as a body is being buried

the WHOLE NOTION of an alternate world where Nephlem run-amuk... Nephlem are from Religous "Mythology"

Specificly in the book of Genesis!

to think in this world of Malifaux that a Sin Eater, a Fatherly Decon of the Poor, an Exerocist or Religous Zelot would not try to make their place is just, well, silly!

    to avoid a tangent...

I understand and respect the idea that the folks at Wyrd

want to avoid religous... stuff. there are PLENTY of reasons to not do it.

I would suggest, because it will keep comming up otherwise-

to offer an editors note like the little parchment fluf in the rules books a simple statment; something to the effect:

Due to the Guilds agressive and single minded holdings in Malifaux, to prevent any discourse among it's people, those of the "Religous" persuasion are forbade entering Malifaux

    or even something kinda funny:

... after the third trian car full of Nuns and Viccars burst into blue flames... no othe church member dared go in again...

  2. Our league has a component to make terrain to add into the game

so Making it "Model Friendly" is a MAJOR concern of mine as this a new endevor for me...

Korrova (one of our veteran players) suggested we consider each model as a Ht 2 30mm or ht 3 whatever...

    CILINDER

it's good advice for establishing LOS and building doorways & movment zones among the terrain features

  3. Well

the specialist is limited to one in a scrape

the librarian is 7 points and somewhat fragile, good but fragile

the student is great for this squad to help with the pieces that have mobility and range issues ala the Specialist ;)

the troops are "OK" IMO, but I often find an excuse to throw in a Ronin or the Gunslinger

    I've played 3 solid games with Vonschill/Freikorps

and I've been very happy with them

  4. I went quite off piste with my kirai bases and went out and got a sheet of green mosaic glass. Turned it upside down - carefully - and then with green stuff stuffed bases pressed them into the glass.

I then roughly removed the bases and the result is green gem type bases that hang over the lip of the bases.

I think the result is suitably spooky.

    LOL

I got no Idea what you are talking about

    can you provied a pic?

I'd like to see how it looks

  5. Great that was what i needed to know before I start ordering my bases in !

Thanks for the really quick reply

    Razorbreed

While I understand wanting to ad "character" to your bases

besides the "Illegal for tourny" you would be giving your opponent a SERIOUS advantage in being able to hit you!

  6. With his box set coming out, I've been eying up Von Schill. All of the troops seem pretty solid so I'm having some trouble deciding which to take. For a 25SS crew, does this sound any good?

    Von Schill

    Two Friekorpsmenn 8SS

    Librarian 7SS

    Specialist 5SS

    Trapper 6SS

Total: 26SS (Cache of three SS)

I thought taking one of each of the non basic troopers would make the squad pretty solid and diverse. However, after reading this thread I'm really tempted by sticking a Student in!

that's pretty much the out of the box squad

I find the Specialist has some of the same problems as Hans-

    in Melee range they're cuddlefed

I like the troops in general & would suggest looking at trading out the specialist (in appropriate occasions) for the Conv. Gunslinger
