I actually kind of figured they would try and avoid religion (Since they don't have a single thing regarding it yet).
How so?!
in the Fluff (at least) there is a specific scene where a minister is delivering a sermon as a body is being buried
the WHOLE NOTION of an alternate world where Nephlem run-amuk... Nephlem are from Religous "Mythology"
Specificly in the book of Genesis!
to think in this world of Malifaux that a Sin Eater, a Fatherly Decon of the Poor, an Exerocist or Religous Zelot would not try to make their place is just, well, silly!
to avoid a tangent...
I understand and respect the idea that the folks at Wyrd
want to avoid religous... stuff. there are PLENTY of reasons to not do it.
I would suggest, because it will keep comming up otherwise-
to offer an editors note like the little parchment fluf in the rules books a simple statment; something to the effect:
Due to the Guilds agressive and single minded holdings in Malifaux, to prevent any discourse among it's people, those of the "Religous" persuasion are forbade entering Malifaux
or even something kinda funny:
... after the third trian car full of Nuns and Viccars burst into blue flames... no othe church member dared go in again...

Our league has a component to make terrain to add into the game
so Making it "Model Friendly" is a MAJOR concern of mine as this a new endevor for me...
Korrova (one of our veteran players) suggested we consider each model as a Ht 2 30mm or ht 3 whatever...
CILINDER
it's good advice for establishing LOS and building doorways & movment zones among the terrain features

Heh very nice use of old Lego's or Kinetc's or whatever they were called (or thats what they look like...)
it's a combo of Lego Star Wars Technic "Pit Droid" parts and Star Wars Miniatures Hailfire Droid and other home design products

I'm planning to get these for use as wicked dolls.
Nice find!
My opponent last weekend used some figs from the Confrontation "Ledgends" line that are micro miniature like...
although
that makes me think you could probably use 15mm/Historicals and kinda paint them as "Toy-ish" and pull it off well enough

when you're playing Texas hold'em and you try to cheat the flip on the river
-
That's a great idea.
we all thought so too-
there are some limits, rather minimums 12"x12" (IIRC) total area of terrain
I'm not much for making Big pieces like Lobostele's theater but I'm pretty good at turning out basic 3"x3" -5"x5" pieces

The scrap yard looks nice. I may have to put something similar together.
our game store is fairly new... and as an incentive, the league organizer is offering additional SS's to use in the league for players who build Malifaux terrain for the store

WHOA!
where did you get Those bases!?
-
Heroclix Jonny Sorrow
-
Well
the specialist is limited to one in a scrape
the librarian is 7 points and somewhat fragile, good but fragile
the student is great for this squad to help with the pieces that have mobility and range issues ala the Specialist
the troops are "OK" IMO, but I often find an excuse to throw in a Ronin or the Gunslinger
I've played 3 solid games with Vonschill/Freikorps
and I've been very happy with them

I went quite off piste with my kirai bases and went out and got a sheet of green mosaic glass. Turned it upside down - carefully - and then with green stuff stuffed bases pressed them into the glass.
I then roughly removed the bases and the result is green gem type bases that hang over the lip of the bases.
I think the result is suitably spooky.
LOL
I got no Idea what you are talking about
can you provied a pic?
I'd like to see how it looks

she was the Guild leaders gardner... so maybe a hedge row
or a picket fence, some flowers and bamboo stalks>
she was hired as an escort for a Ball, why not a marble floor?
-
you'd think with such mini painting skillz, she could paint her finger nails a bit neater! :hahaha:
I thought the same thing!:approve:
-
hey this is rainborg
where did you get the mini from? What game is it from?
I think it's called Mutant Chronicles
the game was Fail about 2 years ago...
you can find pieces on Clearance all over the web

Freebooter, or Black Scorpion sells FLintlock pistol sprues
-
the Hassle Free mini
Witch Hazel and Dionne "b" ?(in trench coat) look Really good
with either the MAS wings or the old Necromunda Spyre wing set
-
she's got her uses
literally her own 'bag of tricks'
but she just shines 'better' in the Leveticus squads
-
Great that was what i needed to know before I start ordering my bases in !
Thanks for the really quick reply
Razorbreed
While I understand wanting to ad "character" to your bases
besides the "Illegal for tourny" you would be giving your opponent a SERIOUS advantage in being able to hit you!

Anybody got an Idea about when we'll see some studio art?
I'm talking Painted versions of the new figs...

With his box set coming out, I've been eying up Von Schill. All of the troops seem pretty solid so I'm having some trouble deciding which to take. For a 25SS crew, does this sound any good?
Von Schill
Two Friekorpsmenn 8SS
Librarian 7SS
Specialist 5SS
Trapper 6SS
Total: 26SS (Cache of three SS)
I thought taking one of each of the non basic troopers would make the squad pretty solid and diverse. However, after reading this thread I'm really tempted by sticking a Student in!
that's pretty much the out of the box squad
I find the Specialist has some of the same problems as Hans-
in Melee range they're cuddlefed
I like the troops in general & would suggest looking at trading out the specialist (in appropriate occasions) for the Conv. Gunslinger

Is ryle supposed to be that big? If I used ryle I would most likely get chronoscops mega mutant with a gw assualt cannon and a few choice necron pieces
I asked the same thing
but the book says he plays on a 50mm base

GREAT Find!
Defensive Stance.

I use top loaders on my cards
so if I have a fig needing to take the Def stance
I write a real big " D " on the sleeve
