as an avid Rasputina player
I have 4 sets...
and frankly, I've put up more mor ethan that and I'm thinking about getting the GF9 crystal set (Pictured in earlier post) to make more

First
I think a Hardcover book is a BAD idea- some of the best games suffer because their starting price to get in requires an overpriced hard cover book that inevitably has printing flaws and errors and requires a lengthy FAQ or an online correction
WAY too much of our culture is now geared to smart phones or tablet PC’s; this path should be the way of the future, not wasteful printing- Piazo does an amazing job of offering downloadable apps and PDF files, any corrections or updates can be made in “app” form as a “patch” with very little cost or hassle
Having said that,
I would like to see smaller book releases like that of the main rule book, to more accurately reflect the release schedule of the models
Wyrd (IMO) is treading close to the issues Privateer Press is having with releasing materials and not keeping up with the need for models (older and new)
Tokens!
YES please!- work something out with LITKO or… GF9 (if you must)
Organized Play
My main interest is a proper ORGANIZED format for tournament and league play
with a definitive scoring system that is universal-
I absolutely HATE going to another store and having to tolerate "house rules" or alternate win scenarios because a T.O. is favoring their players
Also some kind of recognizable achievement or reward system like tokens, patches, badges...something

when they shoot, the oponent gets a fire token
when they melee hit, the oponent gets a fire token
when they get hit in melee, the oponent gets a fire token
when they burst, the oponent gets a fire token
when they burst they cause WOUNDS, not damage
Keris' spells require opponents to have tokens
an unused token causes a wound or slow effect
Keris can force them to explode, Raspy cannot do that to Ice Gamien

nice way to slip in some 40k

the gaimen look great nice and bright
but
for some reason the male gunsmith- the orange coat and brow hat look 'off' to me
the color on the gloves is fine... I just .. something about it is distracting...
great use of washes and blending overall!

I use The Army Painter snow effects mixed with a touch of Elmers "drys clear" school glue
Ice effects are from Dark Age Ground Wurks, the Wendigo base and the surfing' Gaimen are ice ements cut from Heroclix
BTW the Blessed is a Heroclix Wolvesbane fig

Very nice!
Can you show us closeups?

I mean, you could add snow flock to just about any base and make it 'Winter (insert base name here),' but Raspy's Evil Lair© is in a snowy mountain cave.
I use " the army painter " battle field products
Their 'micro bubble' snown is really quite good and FAR less expensive than any of the other leading brands

Hi everyone,
So the game was announced a while ago and there was a pre-order, but there is still no info on it in the web, not even a photo of the box.
Have anyone recieved it yet? Any feedback would be appreciated!
Manufacturer's site: https://store.sodapopminiatures.com/product_info.php?products_id=72
Check coolminiornot
They have been keeping a tab on the game and it's figs and alternate "chibi" figs for well over a year
IMO -it looks "CUTE" and therefor of no interest to me

So I could only think of one way to paint up my avatar Seamus, especially since my standard version is wearing a purple suit.
My wife has since added some blood to his hands and base, and Im working on a dismembered corpse for his right hand.
Ill post more pics once those are added.
Ah-maze-ing!!!

I'd like to reiterate and point out that these were done for me by a friend, but thanks for you tips anyway! For my next crew I'll likely buy some of the scenic bases from micro-art studios.

Don't overlook secret weapon or dark age for bases

It's a shame such a great looking crew is on such bland bases

Hey i was looking to do a list with rasputina and kaeris but was kind of stuck with ideas of what to take with them. Anyone have any ideas on what to use?
What masters do you figure on facing?
What schemes & strategies you plan on playing for
What minis do you own to make the builds?
While "net decking" is frowned upon...
It helps the rest of us if YOU frame your question in a more complete way

I think you SHOULD keep the gloss aspect to the coat

I'm part owner of a shop in Cincinnati and we have a huge Malifaux group. I have not seen any support from Wyrd yet but we manage to do our own promotion. We have a few creative individuals that make some great boards and terrain to play on and we regularly have a campaign of some sort running. We usually charge a nominal fee to enter the league which goes towards prize support of some kind for the winner at the end of the campaign. The best thing you can do is keep playing and be passionate about it. People will see that and they will gravitate towards your games.
It would be nice to get some kind of O.P. Rewards or some such
Patches for our BF Bags
"WYRD" logo tape measures
Signed sketch/promo art
Just saying

I may have to try these techniques
My killjoy is very close to breaking and my mechanical rider broke during assembly >(
while the rider's chain is a small loss(IMO) I'd hate to try to drill to fix Kiljoys 0.o

i second what Antizombie said, use Vallejo as the GW paints to go very pink
A way to avoid this it to highlight by adding grey instead of white to the mix, it makes the purple hold its colour a bit better
Nice tip
Thanks!

I may get started on Resurrectionists with Seamus. Given his clothing, and somewhat his character, I was thinking how he would look in purple. Why? It isn't because he is a pimp, it's because he reminds me of Batman's archenemy, the Joker. Does the idea sound cool?
Purple is also my favorite color. But I hear it is a difficult color to do well. Anyone got any tips?
I guess it depends on the pigment you start with-
Everyone has an opinion on that
I prefer GW/Citadel "lich purple"
Being somewhat color blind myself, I can see it well and it appears visibly well with other colors I choose
Next would be the ink used to shade
I use a dark blue GW/Citadel space marine
Finally
Highlighting- I know most prefer to use bleached bone
But I'd shy away from that path-
I think that makes the purple look "foggy"
instead use a touch of pure white blended with the purple in successive layers
-
IIRC, they were just washed with a purple ink.
Some were
One of our players got an alternate version with a "scarecrow-like" bag head
It was inked in a light tan
Only one of our players has started to paint his, it's just foundation colors at this point

*ignorant poster buts in*
What is this Carver you all speak off?
It's the model from last years Halloween story encounters
Several were made and given away at GEN CON as prizes
There was some discussion, ( though it must have only been speculative) that it would be available for Halloween this year
-
Expect a pretty hefty price tag on it, because from what I recall it was a huge model. Absolutely beautiful and so amazingly detailed but huge (Nightmare Lord Chompy Bits Size).
Actually
Since 3 of them went to Cincinnati players
I see them every week
It's about the size (hight) of the standard box set chompy
It's less bulky
But I imagine it will cost about the same as the avatars

I bought the book and the "yellow jackets" CCC faction
It's a fun game; about 2-3 steps above beer and pretzels
It's about (IMO) as close to a "true skirmish" game as I've ever seen
The mechanic of using the stat cards as effect template AND movement guide is 'clever' but a lot forced
The models ( that are available) are VERY dynamic, well sculpted and produced.
My issue, after GENCON no one from my FLG came back with any interest to pick this up
To make things worse... The MERCS guys have started to fall behind in production and development-
So
Anyone want a painted Yellow Jacket squad & core book?
