  1. Well the Belles and Crooked Men work very well together since they changed the rule on Shafted markers.

I've also heard people using the Datsue-Ba with McM. I've tried it and it didn't work well for me...you may have more luck. Slicing people up is a lot of fun.

For just nabbing objectives...I would use dogs or Necropunks.

Jumping is nice but you need a midrange Mask to do it but dogs are fast but only significant in packs, you do have Sebs though.

  2. I don't know where play testing stands but I would hope the teams are working hard at getting it right.(which I am sure they are.) Let's hope for a good year.

A side from that I know they can't say anything but keep up the good work play testers. I know you have a thankless job and get no recognition for what you do. But without you this game would be so broken no one would know Malifaux existed.

    Oh yeah...you mean like...hmm

    :hamelin

Just like to do that sometimes, I'm a real bastard. Not like those fake ones on TV.

But honestly, I agree...out of all of the miniature games I have played and witnessed, Malifaux seems to be shrugging of the symptoms of Codex creep quite well. We have a very competitive plethora of players and they are all very good at their respective masters. I guess my point is that most of the masters are very balanced and have ways to best each other where nobody has an overwhelming advantage above the others.

I do thank the playtesters and wonder who they are...I do have to give kudos to Wyrd though.

As for the Horrors...well I hope they make Molly more worthwhile.

  3. Thanks for the help guys I guess its time to do some research. One last question is there a list of release dates for models from the expansion book

What they linked as well as it is usually on the side on the main page as you visit this site.

As for Seamus, you really shouldn't need to go outside his style.

Just him, Sybelle, his totem, and then just fill in the gaps with Rotten Belles.

You don't need anything more than that. His crew centers around them and they are pretty fast when they're with him and they are very tanky...so they are good for anything, really.

  4. I have never had a problem with that...

Morty can (0) action companion one and fresh meat him up into the fray and they do a lot of damage with one little flurry...

Seamus should mostly have belles, and probably the Convict Gunslinger, I've seen those belles do more damage than they should.

McMourning is the ressers heavy melee master, if there ever was one but you're better off using Lady J, the Viks, or Lilith for that.

If you want to go old school with your demo and just have people beat on each other, go with Perdita vs. Lilith.

Maybe the Viks vs. Lady J or something.

  5. Yes, but the fact we have so many of these "Beat up Hamelin" threads, isn't that proof alone he is overpowered?

I don't really have the time right now to pull up all of the discrediting people do against Sandy, but it's not such...direct "You're wrong, buttlicker" but more of just people cherry picking everything he says like politicians.

  6. Flame warriors unite!

    Against those two!

Seriousness inbound, and no, I'm not trying to piss anyone off,

But it seems that the vast majority of Malifaux fans are content with his current standing, regardless of how we, the few, feel.

So I'm going to say its in Wyrd's best monetary interest to just keep him the way he is and not change anything else.

I'm personally just going to go back to Seamus and use Hamelin & his rats as proxy models.

In fact, I have pink paint with me as we speak.

He's going to be my bottom b*tch from this day on.

Unless I feel like easymoding a tournament.

Which is what I suspect is the desire of those defending his current status.

Make that 3, my brother...as much as I dislike him, I know he is someone's lovechild...therefore, nothing will change. For better or for worse. But I am siding with you guys cause regardless of numbers...you make more sense.

  7. hmm, I can understand the theme, but I have personally not had much luck with the Autopsies, and against a rangy crew...you can return fire, but that Easy to Wound they have will really put you at a disadvantage.

But to be honest, I would just drop the nurse and his totem in favor of more dogs. The totem just seems to silly now that Wyrd has smacked us with the cuddle bat. Although, I know it acts like a Vulture for him though, and with the dogs being pretty easy to knock down it'd be good to have someone to scoop it up.

Also you may want to advise the person playing to snatch those two soulstones above your cache and make them into his Body Part Counters and show them how to pop a Frankie out on the first turn...amusing...but optional.

Sebs and McMourning are absolutely brutal, the only major weakness of the good doctor I have found is to make sure to kill him before he activates, because of Organ Donor and a lot of Soulstones....ahaha he can come back very quickly.

  8. Oh yeah, Fog is outstanding.

Morty has a (0) action that helps him out big time with shooty lists too.

and Bete can come out and teleport where she wants =P

Crooked Men are pretty good too because they have a ranged spell of their own and 6 Df against ranged attacks.

  9. I would go with...

    Nico

    Mindless Zombies

    1 Vulture

Morty if your enemy is not dropping counters, Sebastian if they are

    3 Punk Zombies

    2 Canine Remains

    1 Rotten Belle

Leaving you with a few extra SS to make sure you Paralyze people if they get to close to Nico.
