  1. I don't mean to be rude...but why is it that nobody ever looks at McM or Nico?

Yeah, Seamus is nice with his rocket belles and handcannon, and Kirai has teleporting spirits...but what about Nico, who can summon virtually any model without a pulse, can do it up to three times AND does not have to injure himself to do it.

McMourning who heals whenever he hits something, ignores armor and hard to wound, has a spell that does 10 DAMAGE, oh and has a cache of SIX!

That's more than any master in the game.

My point is not really to rant but just to let people see that all the other factions have 4 masters...and so do we.

  2. Price rise on an already overpriced product...all the more reason to look at other products.

Not to disrespect the product itself (which is very good) but I personally don't agree with some of Romeo's (Battlefoam's Owner) business practices with other smaller companies so I don't intend support his. There are just as good, if not better, alternatives that are cheaper.

I agree with you, I was lucky to get mine when it was cheap.

Although where I am it was pretty cheap at 70$ where everything else was over 100$ and didn't include foam at all.

  3. I had a few questions about Von Schill and the Viktorias. Well let me ask here...

If you would eventually think of getting both boxed sets for Von Schill and the Viktorias, which would you get first?

I lack the RP Book, so what are Von Schill and Freikorps' background / fluff?

Von Schill is a mercenary in the truest sense of the word and he and his crew were on sale to the highest bidder, which for the longest time was a lot of high-paying Guild officials. Eventually the poopie hit the fan and bad stuff happened so he said &%*^ it and that's kinda where he is now.

I don't really read much into the fluff but what I've read so far and been told, that's my idea of what's going on.

I'd get the Von Schill box and then just buy the two Viks individually.

  4. Hello,

I was just thinking about some little summer campaing, because everyone loves these capture and command maps like Mordheim has - just to show some groundcountrol and so on.

Is there anything similar in Malifaux? I ´ve been looking for some little map or so, but found nothing....

Is there something? Do you now about any sources?

And last question - some skilled drawer interested? :)

We attempted this awhile ago and our best idea was to use that one as a reference and custom make your own map.

Our Henchman at the time made it the general shape of the Malifaux map given but divided it up into different pieces...the names of the different terrain types (ie. Slums, Bayou's Edge... as well as some custom ones Ridley Train Station and stuff like that)

Each terrain has a predetermined set up. A certain shared strategy, terrain and everything. No special terrain but each map had a special property not listed in the book.

The nice part of this is that each terrain was also made into a card and you took it with you. This means that when you started a game, you could use terrain properties from terrain you owned, and the person defending it could use all of theirs.

    The properties were things like...

Arcane Reservoir even if you owned no models with it.

Your master gains Rush of Magic: Discard a card, draw a card

Your master gains ability (1) Summon Guild Guard: This action can only be taken once per turn.

Two Mindless Zombies start in the middle of the table, regardless of schemes or strategies and cannot be targeted by any schemes.

  5. Dr Douglas McMourning, Morgue Master

    Sebastian, Morgue Assistant

    4 Canine Remains

    Convict Gunslinger

    Punk Zombie

I think should be a good list.

I never really use the gunslinger but I assume he's 6 taking in the mercenary thing?

That's the awesome thing about McM and I hope they never change....that nice SS cache he has.

  6. It's just a list of people who helped us out before the wiki came out.

    Which I think you were.

We hadn't planned on either adding to or subtracting from it.

    Thanks!

    =]

Karn gave me the OK to start up Nico's

I would try to help out, but I'm very new to Malifaux. I doubt I can grasp strategies well enough to do write ups.

It's all good, dude. Once you get the swing of your Master, you can start helping the new people who started after you. Malifaux is still going pretty strong.

  7. You have a lot of good points and being new to Malifaux is one thing, but you have a lot of other experience and that's what matters.

The good models to use for demos are precisely what you mentioned. They require little or no finesse right out of the gate and usually that boils down to a good, old fashioned slugfest.

For this I would suggest pairing up any of those you've listed...

Masters such as Lady J, Perdita, Rasputina, Seamus, Lilith, Viktorias, Ophelia (as a Henchman)

While Som'er is fun, he does require some knowledge of battlefield control because whichever list you run, his own dudes can get pegged or trampled.

The reason I leave out most of the Ressers and Neverborn is because most of them require knowledge of specific rules. Summoning is the primary one for the Resurrectionists, the Neverborn go crazy with model use, willpower duels, and burying. I apologize if I am speaking Greek to you.

I've seen Lilith vs. Perdita as one of the better matchups, as to pitch it...I am no good at that.

  8. Yeah, I agree with Sandy...

Against say....gremlins, it doesn't matter if you don't have a hand because they will be burning some sweet cards to get away from you. Meanwhile they are completely shafted because they rely on ranged attacks.
