  1. I've done a couple of re-paints for freinds, and never found them to be too bendy.

Some don't even need to be stripped, just over painted.

When it comes to stripping the paint, nail polish remover is best - but you will find it makes the vinyl "bendy" untill its totally dry/evaporated.

Leave it for 24 hours or so, then clean up with a sharp knife.

Re-Assemble (if required, it generally is) and use a good quality undercoat - they soon "stiffen up" again.

    Base and Paint as normal.

I'm trying to collect a decent lineup of the Golden Age Justice Society (without paying the earth LoL) so far I have Hawkman, Green Lantern, and Doctor Fate.

Ebay is your friend with these things LoL!

  2. The Marvel/DC Paints you are seeing are indeed Heroclix re-paints.

Pulp City is actually my all time favourite Miniatures Game, the quality of the sculpts and the rules are outstanding.

With regards to Superfigs, the rules are kinda cool - but the miniatures really are poo.

  3. Not sure if this has been mentioned but their was an RPG called Deadlands a while back that was: wild west/steam punk/magic/undead and used cards (as well as poker chips) to play. I know its not a Malifaux: RPG but until one comes out it is pretty darn close.

Its actually NOTHING like it LoL!

Its like Comparing A Slasher Movie to a Vampire Flick - both are Horror Films and are similar in some respects, but they aren't really the same!

UPON SAYING THAT - the original Edition of Deadlands is another Game that the system could quite easily be used wholesale with the Malifaux Background.

  4. I'm somewhat familiar with the Rackham products and their LE figs

but I'd never seen nor heard of the Fire Wasp

like with all things sometimes a picture says more than words...?

It will have to be a picture of the bits LoL!

They are kinda rare as Hens Teeth now!

Here is the Tabletop Gaming news Article that Mentions it!

  5. I have an AT-43 UNA Fire Wasp for Trade, all you hardcore AT-43 Fans out there will know it was produced by Fire Industries a while ago now it very limited quantities (Fire Industries were set to be Rackham Enterprises Forge World before Rackham pulled the license).

Its original RRP was $60.00 - and its totally OOP and rather rare now. Its never even been cleaned up let alone assembled or painted.

I don't really want to sell it on Ebay as I've been stung as a seller before (and its pretty much irreplaceable if I get ripped off by an unscrupulous buyer), and I would rather swap it if at all possible - as it’s a really rare/collectable item and I would rather it go to a good home

I am after a Lord Chompy bits extreme, it can even be part painted/assembled or whatever - I just don't really want to wait for next years GenCon before I can get one LoL!

I am more than happy to post first (Insured of course) if people are worried about doing trades.

I posted on here as a lot of my friends are gamers, but I will be posting on Miniature Forums as well.

I'm not a "fly-by-night" I've just never "traded" anything before, I use the same handle on all the Forums I am on - "Doctor Warlock"

Pictures will be provided upon request.

  6. To be fair, I've been talking Castle Falkenstein on the boards for the past few months. It's what got me into steampunk in the nineties.

I'd like to see your notes, if you made any!

I didn't really need to (other than story-line - which involved someone killing people randomly and stealing body parts ;))

Its such an easy transition, especially considering how the Cards in Falkenstein work (up to 13 on a Face).

  7. yes the knuckleduster one says so, but the store i linekd to (was mentioned on the knuckledusters site) is for 25mm western buildings,

so iam curious if it would fit, cause its pretty neat stuff but id hate to order it and pay large shippign stuff (iam in europe) to find out it looks silly...

again, nice LCB and sry for hijacking ;)

Opps, sorry - misunderstood - the Old Glory would be a tad small for 28mm.

  8. All this chat about Malifaux Roleplaying, and how to use the Cards and NO-ONE has mentioned Castle Falkenstien!

Castle Falkenstein is a fantasy/steampunk-themed role-playing game - so its already in the "ball park" for Malifaux.

The system uses playing cards instead of dice to simulate the action - so again little or no work is required there - and players are required to keep an in-character diary instead of using a character sheet. So unless you want to design your own Character Sheet for Malifaux, thats something else you need not do!

Its NOT currently in print, but if you hunt around its readily found at cover price (or less) its around $15.00 for a second hand copy on Amazon.

Does it work for Malifaux - yes it does, I've already run a Game :D

All I did was replace the Falkenstein Background with the Malifaux one - and it worked a treat!

For those with limited budget, or can't find a copy - try a Google search ;) you'll be surprised what downloads you might find LoL!

  9. could someone tell me the inside measurements of the 30 40 and 50mm bases, the lower round part without the lid

    ot none with me

want to sculpt some inlays for bases

A Man after my own heart, I love doing little projects like this!

30mm Bases, the inside "circle" is a little under 23mm.

    40mm Bases - a little under 32mm.

    50mm Bases - a little under 41mm.

I've put "a little under" because its DEAD on the measurements, but the inner part of the lip slopes inwards a little towards the bottom.

Good Luck - let us know what you come up with!

  10. All the suggestions on here have been top-knotch, take them all to heart.

When you first start to paint its 90% patience and 10% ability (for example, your "natural" ability is the level to which you can concentrate and are good with your hands) - as your abilities increase the %'s switch around till eventually its more skill than patience (and you can have a conversation or give a painting tutorial quite happily whilst painting yourself).

I have early onset reumatoid arthritis in my hands (my left is MUCH worse than my right, luckily I am right handed) which means I HAVE to be patient with myself.

I'm still trundling through my Malifaux atm, but here are some of my Pulp City Miniatures.

So, don't lose heart - my hands are VERY problematic (especially my left, try painting when you can't hold something) from time to time and I manage it.

Just be patient (especially with yourself) and you WILL get where you want to be :D
