  1. I could see them offering LE Hannah as a $250 bonus, like they did with Santana on Black Friday last year. I don't think that goes against anything they promised in TTB, and it would be consistent with previous LE offerings.

The only items that were marked Kickstarter Exclusives were the hardcover book and the wicked doll.  Hannah and the fate deck are marked "special editions" and are never mentioned to be Kickstarter exclusive.  This had to be done on purpose to allow Wyrd to offer these at later dates or on special occasions.

  2. It's too bad to hear about the multi pose minis being shipped in the wrong scale.  Probably had something to do with the renderings they showed us back in August being in 38mm.  I even asked about that back then and was told that they would be manufactured in the correct scale.  I guess the factory didn't get that memo.

  3. Also, Nathan has said repeatedly that TTB will not be sold to the public before the backers received their rewards.  Guess the question then becomes, does sale at Gen Con count as being sold to the public.  We do not have any solid proof that Wyrd is, indeed, thinking of selling TTB at Gen Con.  Maybe, all of their events will be run with the pdf....

If it does go on sale at Gen Con before we get our rewards, then I guess it will be time to contact Mack.  If I remember correctly, he said he would provide the torches and pitchforks for the riot...

  4. The product will not be available for retail before Kickstarters are taken care of - I've already made that clear.

I could put an update today going 'hey, books are coming in ..' but I'm not going to. I'm going to wait till they arrive this afternoon (if tracking isn't lying) and come next Monday will post pictures of the product in hand, etc - which I'm pretty excited about personally. Not everything has shown up, but we're pretty close.

In the mean time, the 'Wyrd has screwed me over and over' thread has run its course. The product has been created, paid for, and in the hands of other vendors right now (some of which I could strangle). When it's in mine, it'll be knocked out to kickstarter backers as quickly as we can, and the warehouse knows that that will be a mandatory overtime week to make that happen. If we could snap our fingers and have it done and sorted - I most certainly would.

Why not post this over at the Kickstarter website?

  5. People have been asking for their money back and were refused.

And I will most certainly not back any future kickstarters they might start, nor am I likely to buy any of Wyrd's products in the future, because I find the way they are handling the situation and the way they are treating me as a customer/investor upsetting.

This.  Our only option was to come to these forums where the only person with any power had a chance to see our complaints, could view them.  No one checks in on the Kickstarter website, only Mack ever posted on the TTB forums (and he, admittedly, is only the designer and cannot give any more information).

Look, you want to know what our biggest complaint is?  Lack of information about the product that we backed over a year ago.  Yes, we have the pdfs, but as many here have stated, they are not really great for reading unless you print them out.  And I hate reading copies that are loose or bound with a clip, so I have skimmed those pdfs and that's about it.  We are not unreasonable people, we know production and customs can take time.  We know that Caroland may actually not have any clue about when things will arrive, fine we get that.  But we don't even know what these products will look like, because we never got any type of "comprehensive" update showing us what we have backed and have enabled Wyrd to create.

We have seen Hannah, but only from non-official photos taken at two events.  Not one photo from Wyrd, the only thing we ever saw was the concept art at the beginning of the Kickstarter on the home page.  We have seen no concept art or photos of the Fatemaster's Screen or the TTB Fate Deck.  Unless these have no art on them, they can at least give us an update showing what our funds have been able to create.  We got a couple of concept art pieces for the multipose minis months ago, we would like to know what was finalized on those sprues, which can be written out and told to us if a photo isn't available.  All of this information Wyrd should have, and would have no reason not to release to backers in an update.  This would keep people interested for quite a while, because then we would feel that there was actual progress being made.

  6. And we have had 0 photographs of what anything will look like.  No official word of what the sprues of the multi pose minis ended up looking like, what the fate masters screen looks like, what the kickstarter fate deck looks like, no pictures at all.  And yet, everything is in production, you would figure someone somewhere would be able to post a god damn picture of some sort of finalized product.

I am beyond unhappy with the progress of this Kickstarter, as many are on the kickstarter website.  Course, you would know this if you ever bothered to check those messages every once in a while.

  7. This community has become pure poison, regardless of which edition you choose to support. I have felt that for a while now and it is sad that this is how the Malifaux community has chosen to represent itself. While I was disagreeable with the changes I discovered to the game during open beta, it is the reaction of the community during this time that has chased me further and further away from participating in this process. I am glad that these views are not shared within my own personal gaming community and I can avoid these forums from now on.

  8. It happens pretty much any time a game goes to a new edition, for one of two reasons. Either they're 1) stuck in their ways, used to the current game, and simply don't want to change, or 2) They're upset that their stuff isn't the strongest, most broken stuff in the new edition. Usually a combination of both from what I've seen.

OR they feel that the newest edition isn't as fun as the original edition, which brought these players to Wyrd in the first place.

  9. But if people listened to that episode and think it was just Bill being his normal snarky self and not a few hours of self-serving whining and mean-spirited jabs at Mack and Justin, then they and I listened to different podcasts, clearly.

Clearly, you and I did listen to different podcasts.

@ Nix I find myself currently living on the opposite side of the country from you, so my trips to the DC area are not as frequent as they used to be.

  10. I just picked up a Governor's Proxy to do the same thing.

That's how I run the protect chain, usually Peacekeeper-Hoffman-Guardian-Proxy. Anyone doing enough wounds is going to have to flip a wp-wp duel for killing of the Proxy. Makes the opponent think about how to attack the group and with what that much more.

  11. The Corpse Counter dropping has nothing to do with it. The line that matters is the one in Voracious rats where its says "No other models may be summoned as a result of this model being killed".

Necroctic unmaking kills it, so no SPA.

However, Entropic Transformation sacrifices the rat, so that spell would make an SPA.

That is not correct. Entropic Transformation can only summon a Hollow Waif from sacrificing a rat since the rat is living. You only get an SPA if you sacrifice a construct or a scrap counter.

  12. Ok, so as it's a sacrifice you wouldn't get a rat, but the Levi player wouldn't get an SPA either... am i understanding that right?

The Levi player wouldn't get an SPA anyway, since the rats are living and not constructs. But, essentially, yes. This is now my understanding of how this would work.

  13. You can't, and you wouldn't get a waif in 5) either

I have a question about this. Let me preface by saying that I only have access to the books, so if this has been changed on the cards, then forgive me. Since the rat is being sacrificed, and voracious rats only comes into effect if the rat is killed, why wouldn't Leveticus be able to summon a Hollow Waif if he has room to?

I've never played a Leveticus crew, but plan on picking one up during Gen Con, and will be facing a Hamelin crew. This will come up in our games eventually, so might as well clarify it now.

  14. Just to chime in with the "Jokers are fine" group, I feel that the mechanic works fine and makes the game that more interesting for me to play. I understand how tournament players would feel if the game was decided by a single card during a single flip, but that to me is what makes the games exciting.

Anytime you deal with cards in this manner, it's all luck. The luck of the draw for your hand, the luck of the initial flip, the luck of what your opponent flips. Having those two cards in the deck that can change the flow of the entire game in a single flip is what Malifaux is all about.
