  1. So far i know of maybe 2players in the great state of NY. Both of them in my neck of the woods NYC. Now I am wondering if there are any others out there. Mainly because I am coming from GW and as you all know their community is super cracked out. While other games like Privateer Press, Alkemy and Mallifaux not so much. Basically I am looking to do more then just paint minis that look so sweet.

So I am basically looking for New Yorker's in the City area that play. If youare out there just hit up this here thread or PM me.

  2. Okay a little bit more futuristic then what is generally spoken about. But I got this game this week and it is amazing. I bought it for the 360 preorder through gamestop so I have shockwave. The storymodes are Autobot and decepticon and basically feature the start of the decepticon uprising. While the autobot storyline features the Rise of Optimus as supreme leader of the autobots.

This game has a build your own bot multiplayer. As well as a nazi zombiesque style game called escalation in which you use named characters. In the team deathmatch you build your own bot but you pick both an autobot and decepticon chasis because much like Call of duty they randomly decide which team you are on for that one. Theres a capture the flag as well as a zombie style multiplayer game like halo had.

It is areally awesome game and the developers used G1 style as well as war within comic designs to make places like Torxus Kaon, Iacon, The old Slave Tunnels, The Core, and other places of note on the fictional world of cybertron. Voice acting is really good as are the cinematics/cut scenes.

If you have the 360 and you get this game my gamertag is HP Soundwave. I will gladly school you all in Giant alien robot fighting :) . But seriously it is a fun game I suggest people pick it up for any system they have since it is splash release on all systems.

  3. I wish I still knew the sites but the mining town looks nice but honestly from what I been reading of the style. I would use half the mining town and the other half use say a western town with some grim dark 40k/fantasy elements. But I do like your paint job on both the mining town and the minis.

  4. In all honesty they could license out the property to another party. Now I realize I may be using the wrong legaleze here so bear with me. Games workshop currently contracts out Flights of Fantasy I believe to print their roleplaying games. GW makes a profit based on the licensing of their intellectual property and flights of fantasy makes a profit and everybody is happy.

Now I realize I mentioned the evil empire and I will probly have my head chopped off al queda style for doing so but it was an example of what they could do.

Now the old deadlands system not the current d20 version I do not think is actually owned by anyone so they could honestly just contract out a publisher to take the deadlands ruleset and the mallifaux background and make an RPG book or 50. Which of course can allow for some crazy things like conversions of systems. taking the characters you made and for homebrew games importing them into the minis game.

Now if say a game like this is done with a whole bunch of mallifaux players and everyone has a crew. You make one crew the PC's or each PC is responsible for getting one mini to make up their crew. Then the GM could be like "hey everyone bring your minis to the game, because when we do combat we will actually be playing a game of mallifaux with all of you Vs me the GM and I may need Resurectionists, arcanists, or what have you each week.

Now my idea can also be for you own home brew things. In all honesty the system doesn't really need a tabletop roleplaying game simply because you have so many options. Deadlands, Whitewolf, D20, Tri Stat, Shadowrun, Percentile, Palladium, thereare even d12 systems out there.

  5. Why not and this is going out a limb here, buy the old deadlands stuff aka the poker playing RPG and. I mean you can DL all the books for freen, print them up then use the world setting of mallifaux. Since deadlands was partially steam punk as well as being western all you got do is throw in the victorian and damn you gotta game.

  6. Well if they stay true to continuity. At the end of Wyld Green Yonder they were sorta together and thats the last movie. Also nibbler will no longer poop fuel.

But all the sentiment of earlier posts I agree with. I cannot wait. I still watch my old futurama episodes and laugh. I just want some good episodes with alot of good lines by supporting cast like Nixon, Lurr of the Planet Omicron Persei 8, Zapp Brannigan, Mom, and Robot Devil.

Because "Brannigan's law is like Brannigan's love, tough but fair."

  7. it is only 80 minutes long.

And although it has the eye candy that is megan fox...thats sorta a reason to also not see the movie. I mean she is hot, but her acting or at least attempting to act is basically eye and ear sandpaper. Plus she is trying to have this old western accent on top of all that. I will wait to Download the movie and mute my computer when she speaks.

  8. Thing is I pickup games fast and money is a tight thing. Example is I played alkemy for the first time like a week or so ago, and against an experienced player I forced a draw to a win, And that is a very scenario driven game.

Basically I went after his alchemist, managed to kill all his band except for an archer ad I was holding the Jin outpost at the end of the battle. we called it simply because it wouldn't be fun for him just shooting arrows at my guys on the jin outpost and he already had 2 victory points from holding it for2 turns. So literally we coulda played it for a bunch more turns, but that just would not have been fun and since it was a friendly game i didn't want to be a total douche.

Point is both cash and general skill at games i just wanna jump in feet first like I have done with all the other games I play.

  9. Hello everybody

let me start by saying I own nothing mallifaux yet. Mainly because I am having problems picking a warband/army/faction whatever the game calls their forces. My main problem is I like playing bad guys. I play Chaos Space Marines for 40k, Fantasy I play Dark Elves, Alkemy I play both Empire of the Jade Triad and Kingdom of Avalon, When I played clicks games I generally went for all super villain teams and finally most of my reaper minis happen to be crazy evil looking.

Now the reason I have a problem picking an army I guess for Mallifaux is everything looks so deliciously evil, it is like an assault on the senses. So the ones that really stuck out in my head were the bayou people because I think evil hillbilly's would be awesome, The neverborn, and the ressurectionists.

Game wise how do these factions play?
