I know what you mean about that mould line. It was an absolute pig to deal with and that's aboit as good as I could get it before giving up hope.

I kinda hoped at the time that it would end up looking like a join between the metal plates. Should have drilled some rivets in it.

As you all may have guessed my inspiration was mostly derived from the original artwork and from real life steam engines. Overall I'm happy with the result.

You've done a fantastic job on both the black and the white which IMO are the hardest colours to get right.

Good call on the addition of that little girl, she adds that little something that the model needed. plus, her vibrant colours placed alongside Tannen's (almost) monochrome give and artsy cinematic feel.

I'm also lovin' yoir colour choice for the illuminated's claws, it looks ethereal without being too whispy.

I've finished the black body. I've tried to achieve a wood stove/boiler effect.

The brass is still WIP.

I've got the advantage of only living 10-15 minutes away from Beamish Open Air Museum which has a lot of old steam engines on display and my son loves to go, so I've had plenty of time to study the ornamentation on them. I've tried to carry this feel through the model and I'm pleased so far.

I've found for smooth drybrushing that a soft brush is the way forward, and like for all things, slightly thinned paints.

I'm diggin' the turqoise base for brass and copper, it seems to take away a bit of the shine and give an oxidised look to it.

Believe it or not, the hot water pipe coming out of our boiler was my colour study for this. *wink*

50/50 GW Hawk Turquoise/Black Basecoat.

Multiple slightly thinned tin bitz drybrushed on with a soft brush

Devlan mud wash in the recesses.

I'm thinking a brazen brass/tin bitz highlight for a touch more definition.

I think I'm going to add an additional highlight layer just to define the edges a bit more.

I don't know what I love about the Oiran more, the beautiful freehand kimono or those eyes... Wow!

Plus, your first attempt at NMM is a good one. Nice and smooth which is always the pitfall with that kind of technique.

The realistic colouring of the viscera with the fresh blood dabbed on top make for a VERY creepy Yin.

I also like the kabuki make-up on the face. nice touch.

Maybe a touch more colour on the base to balance with Lillith on top.

Other than that, I can't offer much advice on this excellent model. The haor in particular is brilliant.

I'm a little disappointed that Candy's model doesn't look much like her concept art... Wyrd are usually so close with that.

That's a very cool idea for a base.

I also like the maturr itsrlf. you've used washes well to create a natural skin tone. I would have been tempted to do a bit extra highlighting on the tunic, but that's just me

I'm really happy with the paint job on this, sadly the photos have come out rubbish, the blending is much smoother IRL honest!

The next couple of pics are my attempt to show of the fact that her wings shimmer. I painted layer upon layer of thinned gold paint getting progressively lighter towards the tip to get the effect, it took absolutely ages but well worth it.

That'll be a big book.

I'm loking the soind of streamlined rules. That's always been my biggest gripe with the rules manual.

Very cool idea.

I'll keep this technique in mind if I do a pure ten thunders crew.
