hey mate, with the winter base you are doing start with a white base coat and work the darker colours in from their, but at the end wash the rocks that are exposed with gw blue wash watered down a bit and build up the layers just to give the rocks a cold look to them,then a thinned down caot off gel meidium just to give them a shimering look but not to much. with the tree just go off the pics i sent u of snow to see where it falls and use the gel medium for some icesickals hanging of the branches just get a big blob on the end of your paintbrush push up under the branch and pull down trust me it works,i know you cant get gel medium up that way so im sending some back with your misses when she drops in so thats sorted. just remember to water the texture paste down to like a thin custard mix and build up the layers slowly it takes time but the extra time spent there pays off in the end.and when you come down to sydney next bring it with you hopefully its for the next paiting day so the big guns can looky as well cheers mate have a great new years c ya soon
