  1. Your wondrous tokens enhance my games as it is, so this would be the cherry on top. Allow for the maximum of 3 such tokens, as I imagine Collodi players will be maxing out of Stitched Togethers, at least in the very short term.

Many thanks, again, for your visions and generosity.

    :elefant::elefant::elefant::elefant::elefant:

Sans Elephants, what Ooze said. The quality of the art on your tokens is second only to your generosity in sharing them with us. Thanks again Ratty!

  3. No reason you can't have a forested area terrain piece with individual trees on them being fixed, blocking cover.

I generally use smaller trees to represent and larger trees, rotted trunks, boulders and the like for actual cover.

We use both wood area and single trees like those in the pic, although we do put the trees on bases and count the tree as cover + obscuring, ie you can see through it but gives you cover if within 1"

Outstanding ideas. So the outline of the "forest" gives you soft cover but still allows LOS and the bases of the tree elements provide a definition for hard cover. Excellent.

  4. The issue is your choice of; font size / color / itallics / centring making your posts illegible. Fix that and you fix the problem. If however you'd much rather contiune with this that's fine. People will just ignore you.

I have to agree here Ooze. It's not *what* you are saying... it's *how* you are saying (or rather displaying) it.

Loose the centering and italics. The purple is annoying but manageable. Keep the thoughts coming.

  5. Welcome aboard! I think Nicodem is a fine choice especially if you are a Karloff fan.

My son runs a Nicodem crew and with the addition of just a couple blisters of Mindless Zombies and a Canine Remains or two you can run a seriously dangerous game. The Punk Zombies are combat monsters and now that Mortimer can cheat Exhume flips corpse counters will come that much easier.

  6. Hi all, Looking to expand my horizons in Malifaux by building some terrain for indoor encounters. Has anyone yet gone down this road? What solutions have you come up with? I'm looking at making walls of foamcore with printed textures and maybe some miniature furniture and fixtures. The former is easy enough... does anyone have good sources for the trappings?

  7. I'll chime in with the "too little terrain" choir. In our games we typically have twice that number of buildings, along with low clutter like walls, fences and scatter. If we play forest or bayou games we have at least four areas of forest in the 3x6 size, a few ruins, and at least a shack or three.

While we are on the subject, how many of you play trees as single elements versus areas of trees with an outline or base and just two or three movable trees to represent?

  8. hi all,

i jsut got another great idea that hit me this morning during my insomnia ravings,

    Malifaux paddlewheelsteamer!

    I love it! Great idea.

You could make it big enough to have it take up a good portion of the table. Obviously you'd want it to be a waterline model and it could be multiple levels.

    Take this for example:

    DeltaQueen.jpg

The real life version is 285 feet long (86.9 m) and 58 feet (17.7m) wide... that's @ 5ft long and 1.16ft wide at scale proportions. Just a portion of this would take up near half a 3x3 play area. Seems to me you could model the proportions a little chunky and do a 3ft x 1ft. boat, add the dock and waterfront (maybe a boardwalk too!) and you have an entire play table.

  9. I think the idea of a experience based campaign style game set in the Malifaux universe has a lot of potential. Necromunda is the game most like this in my experience set so it's natural to draw some inspiration from there. The experience tables, skill tables, and territories are naturals for Malifaux.

Seems to me you could draw multiple "gangs" from MS&U, The Guild Guard, Friekorps, and even McMourning's morgue staff that would cover the Factions. Neverborn might be a problem but you could probably fluff that out too... rogue agents working for Nekima being raised in secret, for example.

Of course all of this using the superior Wyrd rules and card based mechanics. :)

  10. This is very similar to the Death Marshal APC technique.

OK, so I'm searching and darned if I can find this. Not to totally derail the thread, but can you give me a link or thread name for the Death Marshal APC technique?

  11. Giga-Bites Cafe in Marietta, GA added. The storekeeper, David is a great guy and the local group is friendly.

Stop by and see us if you are ever in the Metro Atlanta area. You might even get a peek at the wild WEiRD sKeTCH in his native habitat.
