  1. Outside of Raspy I could only see Snowstorm being used possibly with Marcus and only then if you are bringing Silent Ones. With Raspy however he almost always gets brought by me.

     

    Middle of the Storm helps cover for some beast squishiness and he is more survivable than a lot of typical Marcus hires

  2. I can, I am a little time poor at the moment but I will see what I can do.

     

    Mei can switch gears a bit with support and giving a bit of a beat down. She is not a Master killer but works really well against low and mid cost models

  3. Aionus has been a really solid addition to me for Tara. He helps so much with scheme manipulation. You will want someone else though with Tara as your heavy hitter, he just enables a lot of your crew and makes them perform more

  4. In preparation for an upcoming tournament I decided to be a little stupid and only 5 days out decide, 'NO I wont take the crew I have sent the past few weeks painting and what I have played with recently, I'll take something different'

    That led to me starting pretty well from scratch (only Raspy, Acolyte, Wendigo and Ice Gamin were even assembled) and pulling this crew out quickly.

    The photo wasnt taken under the best light last night but I hope to be taking better photos over the weekend and under more natural light.

  5. Skulls Malifaux is making another appearance this year on November 14th at the Outposts home of the South Perth Community Center.

    I am still finalizing the last details of the players pack but wanted to put this out for everyone to start getting prepared

    WHEN: November 14th 2015

    WHERE: South Perth Community Center, cnr Sandgate St and South Tce, South Perth

    HOW MUCH: $30 entry. $5 discount for Outpost and Club Westgamer members. Further $5 discount if you are attending either the Skulls Kings of War or Skulls X-Wing events on Sunday.


    EVENT DETAILS:

    4 games (random draw first round subsequent seeded by TP followed by VP (3TP for a win, 1TP for a draw, 0TP for a loss)

    45ss each game

    Fixed faction 1-2 lists for the day. Lists must be submitted to me by the 10th of November 2015 either via PM or email ( toomanylimbs at gmail dot com )

    Three awards: Overall Champion, Best General, Best Painted Crew (names subject to change)

    Best Painted Crew: Judge plus peer vote of one of your painted crews (only models painted by the player are eligible for winning)

    Best General: Highest TP (count back via VP scored then VP conceeded then finally a flip of the cards)

    Overall: TP scored + Total 'soft score' points divided by 3

    Soft score points (all cumulative)

    +1 point having a painted model
    +3 points having a fully painted crew
    +2 points having all models brought for the tournament painted
    +3 points to freely award to anther player f your choice (nicely themed crew, great person to play against etc)
    +1 to 3 points rank your opponents from most enjoyable to play against to least

    If you did not paint your models yourself you will not be eligible to win the best painted crew award but still gain relevant 'soft score' points for best overall

  6. For me its pretty well alwys Vapormancy and then Imbued Protection. The sometimes extras are Imbued energies, arcane resevoir, seize the day and seismic claws but it varies whether I take the third upgrade or not, more often than not due to my mood at the time

    Out of curiousity has anyone read the TTB encounter and have any thoughts I am open for feedback as all the encounters I have run for my group have been written fairly differently to this.

  8. I'm firmly of the opinion that Imbued Energies is the strongest generic non-Master upgrade in the game, with Oathkeeper coming in a close second. It can be tough for a newer player to see how much of a difference a single extra AP can make to the outcome of a game, but it will very often mean the difference between killing a key enemy and losing a valuable friendly, or being in position to score versus not. Even if your model gets killed before you get to make use of it, it still has great value (slightly better than Oathkeeper in most circumstances, hence taking the top spot in my estimation).

    That extra AP at the right time comes in handy as a lot of others have already gone into detail with.

     

    1 specific circumstance that I use regularly is Howard + Imbued Energies as it gives a nimble move plus the imbued move then 2" Ml to flurry. Its an impressive deterrent and board control piece that can very easily remove almost any model from the board if you enter its zone of death.

  9. From the skim I had this morning at work reading through it. I really liked it. It was a lot more than I thought we were getting and it made the wait worth it.

     

    Looks quite thorough and a good resource for Fatematers even if they dont run that story as you can use certain plot points and hooks in stories of your own devising.

    Well, actually, it isn't. It means (approximately) "beef labelling regulation & delegation of supervision law", so it's bureaucracy, not language. Furthermore, said law was abolished some years ago, so the word doesn't describe something real anymore.

     

    But you can build such words, which is hilarious. It isn't even the longest one I have ever seen. (That would be Donaudampfschiffahrtselektrizitätenhauptbetriebswerkbauunterbeamtengesellschaft.)

    Ich Sprehe kliene bissen deutsch but I understand a bit more and find the written language pretty easy to grasp. Its the grammar that kills me.

  11. Basing wise I am putting most of Arcanists on Railroads and wilderness/badlands bases. I am also adding elements such as crates and barrels to a few bases too.

     

    Tying everyone together this way isnt too hard, all the M&SU type models fit well in this type of base, for the frozen heart models they straddle a bit more wilderness or I am putting snow on the tracks, Marcus and his beasts though are going more wilderness/badlands and as the colour palette of all the bases will be similar they will still look in place with the other crews.
