  1. I just went through with a red pen and underlined anything that was altered, strikethrough anything deleted (except the movement section - too much) and added a plus sign where something needed to be added. Just gives me a cue that I need to refer to the errata.

  2. “What ever happened to a good old‑fashioned sewer lair? Close to home. Easy to identify. Home in time for dinner.” The Judge had been complaining for the past hour about the need to once again enter the bayou in search of some crow-begotten resurrectionist and his hide‑out. The marshals appeared mildly amused at his tirade but it was hard to tell if it was in response to him or simply the thrill of the hunt. Justice tolerated it as she knew it was simply a way for him to maintain focus and also served as a reference point for the rest of her group.

A raised fist brought a stop to the chatter and had the marshals drawing their peacebringers and scanning the surroundings. The Judge directed two of them around the southern hill, maintaining one as rearguard whilst Justice took off at full pace towards whatever she had sensed. As he made eye contact with the target of her attention, the Judge was forced to steady himself and resist a persuasive suggestion to level his weapon at Justice’s back.

The marshals moving to a flank position and trying to focus on the barely perceptible figures of several silurids, failed to notice the form of Bad Juju dragging himself from the earth only yards behind them. The crack of their colleague’s peacebringer drew their attention but did little to alter the situation of being outnumbered on two sides with the choice of a lumbering golem or the lightning quick swamp dwellers. The moment of indecision removed the choice as the golem quickly covered the distance, whilst sacrificing some of its bulk in an attempt to bury them. The onslaught was too much for even the steel will of one marshal who fled, fating his partner to the undivided attentions of the oncoming and frenzied silurids.

Torn between supporting his marshals and providing back-up to Justice, the Judge’s decision was made when he saw the silurids leap upon and begin tearing pieces of flesh from one of his men. He would have to trust in Justice’s skills to deal with the Hag and any further tricks she may have. Seeing Justice continue to close on her quarry, he made for the overwhelmed marshals fearing he may already be too late.

Justice sensed it, the power emanating from the twisted crone in front of her. She dropped her blade for a charge that never came. The power retreated, accompanied by the sound of a bird taking flight. She could not hope to catch it now, so turned her attention back toward the sounds of ongoing battle.

The Judge skidded to a halt as all three silurids looked up from the downed marshal and turned there attention to him. One moment they were beyond the reach of his weapon and the next they were clawing and biting from every direction. How they moved that fast he had no idea. Try as he might he could not block that many attacks particularly when the savage creatures had so many natural weapons at their disposal. The last marshal rounded the corner in time to see the creatures bent over the prone form of the Judge. As he contemplated vengeance or withdrawal, their alien heads twisted towards him and he witnessed first hand the speed of the silurids.

Tried to give a bit of excitement to a very one-sided game. Justice and crew were spread quite wide the Lady herself on one flank.

Turn 1 saw Juju come on behind two activated marshals whilst the silurids leaped to the same side of the board, away from Justice. Zoraida stood in plain sight of Justice and the Judge and dolled the Judge but couldn’t affect him.

Turn 2 saw Juju gain initiative and charge both marshals forcing a couple of control cards to avoid being landslided. The next activation saw a marshal terrified the half inch towards the table edge but still in Juju’s reach. The remaining silurids piled onto and removed the other marshal in melee with Juju. The Judge and last marshal moved toward the silurids but were out of range. Zoraida again failed to affect the Judge and Justice kept coming.

Turn 3 and Juju finished off the fleeing marshal whilst the silurids triple–teamed the Judge and survived the remaining Marshal. Having lured her close enough, Zoraida transformed and ran from Justice having sent her doll ahead of her last turn.

Turn 4 and the last marshal was taken out. Justice gave up chasing a bird and ran away from Juju (I think his size intimidated my opponent).

Turn 5 and 6 was simply grabbing table quarters and then leaping into Justice’s quarter once she had activated.

Again had a good post-game discussion and hopefully the next one will be closer. The siluirds were stupid good this game, I never once needed to cheat a leap and only one of them was injured at the end.

  3. Thanks for all the kind words.

The colours are all GW. The main colours on Juju were:

Brown - scorched brown with increasing amounts of rotting flesh added to highlight. The occasional brown or green wash was thrown over as well.

Green - rotting flesh darkened with green and brown washes and then highlighted back again.

First time I have used washes in years (normally start dark and work up) but decided to see how they would go after hearing a lot of positives. Happy with the result.

  4. Hi all, just working on my silurids. Can be seen in a variety of different lights (I am useless with a camera). The lightest highlight at the moment is GW rotting flesh. I was planning on lightening the belly further.

What I am interested in is opinions on where to from here?

My thoughts at this stage are glazing to bring back some more green to the main body. Was also considering if I go this route adding some brown glazes to the feet and hands to give a different tone to the extremities.

    Thanks for all comments.

Hurrah - got the images sorted.
