  1. Though as much as I love the model it is hard to put together, the mold parts are in all the wrong places, where joints have to fit making so you have to really work to clean out the area to get it to fit.

And of couse this is also the most flare i had to file down on a model to date but thats just bad luck.

And you will need green stuff to make this model or you will not line up.

I think the most work i have had to put into a model just to build it, and that incudeding all 18 Steampunk spiders I put together.

but in the end soo worth the pain!

I would think you either got a bad oe or I got a good one, I didn't have any trouble lining mine up as I assembled him, pinning for the claws went off without a hitch also.

  2. I had yet another good Gen Con. I picked up the Ortegas starter, rule book, and deck last year, but never found any locals to play. To top it off, I never really learned the game at Gen Con and didn't have much luck trying to learn it from the rule book on my own.

This year, Z (might be Zee on this forum?) gave me a most spectacular demo / game and completely turned my opinion around on the game. I ended up picking up Lady Justice, Lylyth, and one other starter as well as another deck so I can show the game off to the locals. I might even be able to grow a full play group, who knows?

Of course, first things first, and thats assembling and painting my stuff. I might be able to knock out the assembly over the weekend, but I'll be working a bit to get the painting done. Basing is my only question now -- what is a good generic base style to use for Malifaux? Normally I just go with the open field look, but something tells me that won't fit in most games. I've been debating using cobble stones like this but I'm not sure if thats hand sculpted or if its premade.

Anyway, next year I'll be packing Malifaux along with my Warmachine and Uncharted Seas, and I hope to see you all there.

Wyrd makes their own inserts for the bases, also dragon forge designs has some nice cobblestone bases (and many others as well) at their site. Good luck.

  3. Looks good, I think I need to pick up some Hirst Arts molds for myself! What's your preferred casting material?

These were made with the slightly more expensive dental plaster, I have to really recomend this over regular plaster. The blocks are very hard but not real brittle, in fact I dropped several from my table to a wooden floor and didn't break any of them, Never would have happened with regular plaster, at the very least they would have gotten chipped up or possibly shattered all over the place. Making them can be a time consuming experience, dont' waste your time with reg plaster.

  4. I have to say that I am not a big fan of the japanese spirits in general, however as soon as I saw this box set in the e-mail they jumped out at me and I have been thinking about them ever since. Great job on the fig's they are really stunning.

  5. I have used mine in 3 games so far, first effort he got munched by a steambord executioner, second game he lasted several turns of shooting from my opponent before he died(feeing up my other models to get in position for the kill). In the third game he got one of the vickies before my opponent took 3 models to destroy him, over all he has been quite fun to play. He does draw lot's of attention but can move quite fast when needed.

  6. I have played 3 games with the peacekeeper so far and I have enjoyed playing it. I have only really used it as a distraction piece so far, moving it quickly up the board to help freeze my opponents crews in place. No one wants this thing beating on them, it takes a bunch of resources to destroy most of the time. Just watch out for other big nasties a steamborg executioner easily destroyed it in one activation.

  7. We are very sorry for those who had issues with their orders in the past few weeks. We have been selling for many years, and normally have excellent stock levels. However we had some major problems with restocks from our distributors, just in the past few weeks on the Malifaux line. Apparently our distributors have had problems with supply from the manufacturer, because of the recent spike in volume. I guess, in the long run, that is a good thing!

Anyways, we are doing our best to keep everyone informed of delays and the recent issues. Thank you for your patience. We have been assured that supply will be returning to normal very soon, so please check back with us soon!

    Best to everyone,

    The FRP Games Team

Well it's good to see that they are aware of the problem, but to say well we didn't get them so it's not our fault is crap. Everyone understands that if it's not in stock then it's not in stock. But to advertise that it's in stock when you know it's not in stock is just bad business.
