  1. @DangerousBeans I gotta say I didn’t event think about the creature from the black lagoon. A mega silurid would be awesome to see on the table. Even though having Ash for the Death Marshals I’m not so sure mostly because we would be introduced to a very unbalanced rule… the auto win. @Ciaran Don’t take this the wrong way but I have to disagree with you on your post. There are no werewolves in game but there are shape shifters but not the same. The vampires I can see what you are talking about with the neverborn twins but I see them as more demonic than vampire like. I mean they are some cool looking demons with some great rules.
  2. I think those are your parents telling you to clean your room not the voice of humanity dude.
  3. Darn I guess I have been taken out of the loop of all humanity. That sucks and stuff what ever am I ganna do?
  4. You know I thought the same thing about a lot of characters they use in game but you know it seems to work pretty well. But if you don't like the idea that is your opinion. Me on the other hand would enjoy seeing them in game but its not up to us its up to the developers.
  5. Love to know myself I can’t wait to put a construct army together for my guild.
  6. Not for nothing Ciaran but you sort of missed the point of the post. The rant and examples I was making was to point out what seemed some of the origins of the great characters and where they came from. I didn’t mean to say that they were in game as exactly as described from myth, religion or some other media. One thing that makes me sad is the fact that anytime anyone brings vampires and werewolves up the first thing people think of is what has become somewhat of a fad of popular culture at the moment with different shows on tv and the insane popularity of twilight. Personally I can’t stand the movie which is only because of the convenience to change a very interesting evil undead creature to a chick flick. Now werewolves had some ok movies but never have they got it completely right but hay that’s Hollywood for you. As for the vampires and werewolves in game I just thought it would be cool to see the in game. Just the mechanics alone would interest me. I mean come on tell me that wouldn’t be cool if you are playing a Seamus(Jack the Ripper trained in the arts of necromancy) with his bells(reanimated undead hookers) and an old school eastern European vampire with a twist to fit in the malifaux world I think would be extremely cool. Werewolves in game I would hope that wyrd would do something I haven’t seen in a game for a while. For one make the curse on a character new or otherwise existing. Two have a huge hulking model not Lon Chaney Jr. style and for those a little younger Benicio Del Toro style but a huge hulking beast that would be a little unpredictable in game terms that looked like a huge feral wolf man hybrid but more wolf than man but still bipedal. The only reason I brought this topic up is how much I thought that these two monsters that everyone knows and loves would be a great addition to the game and to the world of malifaux of course with the wyrd spin on the rules and background.
  7. Ok so let me get this straight I’m talking about the “classic” vampire and werewolf not and I repeat not the prancing little clamato juice drnking hot topic shopping vamps or werewolves from… twilight. Or any other sorry Hollywood crap that deals with the two monster types like underworld, true blood or any other. For those complaining about the fantasy aspect that vamps and werewolves are too much look at some of the stuff they already have in and where they came from. Nephlim- Demons Greek mythology and folklore adopted by Christianity and Judaism Old hag- baby yaga Russian myth Lilith- Mesopotamian storm demon or jewish folklore as in adam’s first wife who mated with the archangel Samael and we know what happened there Pandora- greek mythology the fist woman and punishment of mankind Stitched together- nightmare before Christmas oogie boogie for god sakes Nytemare- the boogie man Lady Justice- Neil Gaiman comic book character And that’s only to name a few. One of the reasons I love the game is it’s a virtual mixing pot of all the coolest myths and spins from historical characters, comics and literature. Would a classic Bram Stoker style vampire be too much for the Resurrection faction? No not so much I think as long as the rules stayed true to the source material. Like limited shape shifting or ability to turn to mist, stronger with blood counters hated by neverborn undead of course, susceptible to decapitation i.e. cant discard a control card only soul stones. How bout a werewolf that would have a special rule that would attach to a mercenary like the ronin or convict gunslinger. Let’s face it they would never be attached to a faction but able to work with one. Rule would be Lycanthrope curse would attach to said model and be around 12ss have some beefy stats and have a hatred for undead and neverborn, but would be susceptible to attacking your own party if they were too close. And I think at the start of the activation you have to make a flip to see if you trigger the change but also makes you burn control cards if you want to hold off the change. I was thinking something like 3 inch claws and a poisoned bite along with hard to wound and slow to die. After killed revert back to the merc it was attached to or on the flip side if the merc is killed it’s an auto change to the beast. Yes a lot of game companys have werewolves but none of them do it right. Ether they use weapons or bs political structure or are a bunch of tree hugging hippies (no offence to any out there). What I’m looking for is a curse that you have to aim or hold back and not let loose on your own gang. I personally think that would make for some fun game play.
  8. Coppelius or the Black Shaman? I was thinking a little more on the human looking side with the fangs and all. Or are you talking about the big bat for the ressers?
  9. I was just wondering if wyrd is thinking about doing a werewolf model for the beast, nightmare? Or a vampire for the resurrectionists? I think that would be very cool to be able to play as them in some mailfaux games. Or even take my Lady Justice gang against them,
  10. Any word on when we might see the Desolation Engine, Steampunk Abominations, Guild Peacekeeper, Guild Austringer, Bete Noire, Canine Remains, Hooded Rider, Young Nephilim, or Teddy?
  11. Thanks for the info I thought that mercs were an acception to the rule of plus one soulstone but that makes sence. I think I might have to pick up the Executioner and might be holding off on the mercs for now. Looks like ill wait for some of the new models like Guild Austringer or Peacekeeper to come out to fill out the rest of my force. I already have the Whitchling Stalkers for when I start expanding my force. The stalkers seem fun with the anti magic thing going for them can't wait to try them.
  12. Just put together my Lady Justice box along with a blister of whichling stalkers. They get the paint next then hitting the table. I have some questions about the Lady J and her crew. I know they are a melee force but what is good to add to them to balance them out to take on all comers? I noticed they are very good against undead but what about the rest of the factions? I very much like the Executioner, Hans, and Taelor not to mention the Peacekeeper looks cool but is not out yet. Any info on these would be helpful like if they are any good to use in my force.
  13. Hello hello from Cleveland Ohio. I was blown away with the demo and the minis at Gencon I had to get a starter set. Decided to go with the Guild and Lady Justice will be my master. Can’t wait to get some more games going at my local game store as I have been everyone interested in it.
