  1. Ummm...I have some bad news...

Situations beyond my control are going to prevent me from making it to Orccon to run demos. I'm currently looking for someone to take my place, but things don't look good.

    Kel,

Were you ever able to line up a "replacement kel" for the convention or should I simply cancel the event at this time, we are getting the program book printed up and I have to make the call today.

    :(

  2. Keltheos,

I'm really looking forward to your two days of demos at Orccon (http://www,stategicon.net) over Presidents day weekend: February 14th and 15th at the Radisson Hotel/LAX in Los Angeles, CA.

It will be very exciting to have one of Wyrd-Miniatures prime developers at our home town gaming convention.

We have been advertising the event hard, and know that several gamers have emailed us stating that are looking forward to talking/gaming with you!

    :)

  3. I tend to hang out at GMI Games and collectibles in Riverside http://www.gmigames.com. A great store run by Catherine and Rob!!

I have all my box set assembled and they will be primed with the first coats of paints. I am going to the store on the 24th of October with my box sets and will stumble through the rules along with several friends. Anyone who would like to join us, come on down and join us!

I should be there by 1pm on Saturday.

  4. One method I have discovered instead of pinning is to drill 2 holes as if you were going to pin the pieces but use the smallest drop of 5 minute epoxy instead. It will flow into the holes you made and, once hardened, it will make a reasonable connection. Don't be afraid to use a little too much as you can file off the excess once it hardens.

Now that is an idea I could kludge on to.

    Thanks!

  5. Thanks for the suggestion on transport, I actually have plenty of Sabal bags, as I have been playing miniatures for a while. :)

I would go with 1 1/2" or 2 " personally to stand them up rather than laying them down and placing any strain on the the attached arms.

The problem I have with thin arms is that they are too small to pin easily (given my clunky large fingers) and I am concerned that while bumping the arm or weapon, it will pop off.

I actually like the witch hunter box set is that most of the models are one piece, so my clumsy handling will not be sch a problem.

  6. Chris,

I haven't demo'd the game yet at my Lgs, while I have purchased about 5 of the box sets, I haven't assembled them yet, and I was hoping to get Ketheos scheduled to come over to my LGS and give us all a run through as he is the local expert at this time.

Once I get a run through myself, then I was hoping to schedule more demo days locally at some of the lgs' in the area.

  7. I'm down for Orccon, Robyn. I figured we'd get it shaken out for at least demos if nothing else.

I have you signed up for two demo events, one on Saturday and one on Sunday for 10am both days.

I have a place holder on the schedule for you, so if you want any changes in the description or the time, let me know!

This will be a demonstration event of the new diceless miniature system called Malifaux

    10am - 2pm demo event

  8. So will Wyrd be making it presence felt out here on the west coast this fall or this coming spring?

I know of several conventions coming up

neoncon - First weekend of November in Las Vegas (http://www.neoncon.com)

Orccon - First of 3 conventions in Southern California in the Winter in LA - President's day weekend (http://www.strategicon.net)

    others?

Of course I ask about these two since I will be in attendance at both and wondered if Wyrd might be also, or might be convinced to run some events or demos there.

I figure that 2010 is the year of Malifaux right?

    <fingers crossed>

  9. I have a great gaming room available out in Riverside at GMI games and collectibles. If we could get some games in, I know that we could recruit many of the regulars out there into the game.

Else, I also have gaming space available on my campus in San Juan Capistrano if everyone here in OC would be interested in forming a regular gaming group (once a month saturdays anyone?). Both places are air conditioned, just let me know.

  10. Hey Charlie,

Yes I would like to get together with some locals to get some games in.

It would be mostly a matter of getting the right place to game at (The Bunker is definitely out :) )

I know that I will be busy with Strategicon , the Socal gaming convention, this coming weekend, plus I need to get the book in this week to begin reading it over, but maybe we can arrange something later this month!

  11. We'll have a full restock of all the miniatures within two weeks, much of it before then as they are being cast in groups and forwarded, some of them being overnighted (for instance, Warpigs come back in stock in the morning, which puts us back in business for all the Gremlin box sets as well as that was the only thing missing to complete that).

We've been a full speed since the first of August, and haven't slowed down. That's great, and we're naturally very pleased, but its a growing hoop we're having to jump through and appreciate the interest and enthusiasm that has been show for Wyrd and Malifaux.

Ooh, does that mean gremlins box sets will be back online on Monday??

  12. I see lots of familiar names here on the forum (hey everybody), so I know I'm in the right place, if they give a thumbs up, then I know the game has to be good.

I got to see the game at gencon, and I look forward to having the book within a week.

I've picked up singletons from the booth at Gencon for years, now I get a game that is tailored to them.

I look forward to demonstrating them to friends in Riverside, and I would love to see a demo rep come on out to Strategicon at one or more of its conventions.
