  1. Hey Everyone,

My 13y/o daughter picked up a Rasputine boxset recently and I have it all cleaned and assembled for her, ready to be pinned to a base. She wants Ice Bases (like glacial ice for the figs to be 'walking on') with little to no snow.

So any tips on how to make 'glacial ice' bases for her? Most importantly, does anyone have any good pics of ice bases so I can show her to get a better concept of what she wants?

    Thanks!

  2. Which, according the current understanding of the rules, is not voluntarily blowing himself up... :tongue1:

haha.. he is actually MUCH more dangerous with the "Take ya'll with me" then he is when he dies and blows up. I like to run out in the middle of the enemy, "Take ya'll with me" then have another of my models shoot and kill him for the mini-explosion.

    :)

  3. Yep. Just like you do in the book.

And that should be fine. Going to take some jeweler's chan and put it in manacles?

Cool.. that was one of my concerns of the game in a tournament format. Still have a few concerns on the card decks, but that is for another conversation. :)

As for the conversion, yep. Going to greenstuff some manacles on a terror tot and bind him with a huge ball and chain. I'll be curious to see how the real one is sculpted when it comes out. But mine should work for now.

    :)

  4. Looking good man!

If you wanted to make them really look great though, I would do two things that make a huge difference without a ton of work.

    1) The figs look a little bit flat, lacking some edging and details if you get what I mean. A super easy way to fix that is to give the minis a quick wash / ink. For example with the Ice Golem and Gamins, I would use a watered down blue ink, and go to town on them. The darker ink will sit in the recesses and really make the details pop out. Simple to do and will make a huge difference!

    2) Get some playground sand and glue it to the bases. Dry brush it 1-2 different earth tones to add some texture to the base.

Do those two quick and easy steps and your figs will go from good to great!

    ;)

  5. whoa... three pages of fellow rabid hockey fans?? Awesome! :D

Yeah I am a huge hockey fan, Pens' obviously the primary team. But I am also a huge Red Wings fan. So for the past two seasons, I got to watch my fav 2 teams duke it out in the Finals I had been hoping, dreaming, and praying for my entire life!

    :)

  6. oooh.. just remembered that... Obey gives you 1 AP or a Charge.

In that case... Perdita activates and casts Obey on Fransisco. Fransisco Charges, resolves attack. Perdita then has 1 general AP and +1 Fast AP remaining and must use those or Pass.

NOW Fransisco activates and can use Flurry as well for 3 Attacks... 4 Attacks total this turn.

    muahahahahaha

  7. Correct me if I am wrong... but when you call for Companion, you finish activating that model first before moving on to the "Companioned" model. So as as example...

    Perdita: Activates

    - 1: Announces Companion with Nino

    - 2: Casts 'Obey' on Fransisco

    - 3: Fransisco performs a single 1 Action (not being able to charge then)

    - 4: Perdita has 1 general AP and +1 Fast AP remaining and must use those or Pass

Fransisco: Now that Perdita has completed her activation, Fransisco may take his activation as normal.

  8. One of the biggest things missing is what Repeter said... in a 35SS game, the cards are fewer and far between. In a 20SS game, you can burn an extra card cheating the WP roll so yeah it is more likely that in the smaller games, the WP tests are going to be passed a bit more. Where in the larger games, you are far more likely to save cards to cheat something more important or critical.

  9. Krylon Gloss, then Krylon 1311 matte sealer. the 1311 gives the same results as Dullcoat, costs the same, but it's a full-sized can, not the little mini can Testors hits you up for. Dead flat, and a great way to cheat some blends, too. ;)

Cool... I have some of that Krylon 1311 in house now as I was wanting to test it out. I just didn't want to test it on a good figure first.

I love the Testors, but DAYUM it is pricey for that small can.

Good to know the Krylon works just as well!
