  1. I played the game at the beginning, through the 1.5 update, and at the start of 2. I have the cards for some of my crews for version 2 but not all.

I'm at a loss for how to get back into the game. I would need the current/complete rules and the version 2 cards. It seems like the cards are scattered now between the wyrd web store and the cards on demand store.

If I order cards from the print on demand site will they be same size and quality as they ones from Wyrd?

Any advice or info? Had there been any rumors of a new edition? If so just wait for that?

  2. I wonder if he's meaning time to render the pdf as opposed to downloading it. On my system (2mhz intel core2 duo, 4gig mem), WC #1 renders almost instantly, whereas WC #3 takes a noticeable amount of time to render a page. WC #2 is even longer, but that's due to the typeset being 'imaged' as well (and thus a much larger filesize).

    I can't tell why #1 & #3 render at different speeds though.

(All 3 are downloaded in the same location on my 'puter... and opening with Acrobat 8 Pro, if'n that would make any difference)

Dito that. I have a beefy system and it stutters on rendering WC 2 and 3 also. (I do have the PDFs saved locally and am viewing them with Adobe Reader).

  3. 2) With christmas coming up you should be able to find some of the following http://www.michaels.com/art/online/displayProductPage?productNum=ch0895&channelid= at a local Arts and Crafts store such as Micheals. Much easier for large ares but will look very precise and artificial.

Lemax also makes a 18"x 36" brick mat. Glue two of those to a section of hard board and you are most of the way there. To get closer you could dig out some of the bricks and fill in with sand or model railroad ballast.

Edit: Wanted to add that I'm 99% sure these brick matts are textured. It should be pretty easy to prime, paint and wash them to the color you want. I remember looking at them at a store last year and thought they'd make for a quick city base.

  4. Lasers make everything better, right? So why not Malifaux?

There are a few affordable laser line levels on the market now and they work quite well for checking LOS and charge paths. I picked up [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Black-Decker-BDL220S-Laser-Level/dp/B000B8GBBS/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1251936084&sr=8-6]this one[/ame] at my local home improvement store for $14.

The one that I have projects a bright enough that it can easily been seen in the well lit game store that I play at. The level can be sat on the table or held above the table to position the line where needed.

Also comes in handy to mark the deployment line at the start of the game and apparently these things can also be used in construction projects or to help hang pictures level. :)

Just thought I would share in case anyone else thought it was useful and liked playing with lasers too.

  5. I attended the Intro to Podcasting seminar at Gen Con and The D6 Generation had a good tip for fledgeing podcasters. They suggested starting out doing a segment piece and offer that up to an existing podcast. That way you can play around with the content, recording and editing side of things with a smaller piece without the worry of setting up hosting and spreading the word.

Just throwing this out there in case anyone is interested.

  7. Well, is this the site redesign we've heard so much about? I'm excited! Let's speculate wildly-- I'm guessing announcement of sitcom tie-in. (Oh that wacky Seamus!)

lol The sitcom that has you laughing so hard you will bust a gut, die, get resurrected, and become a new cast member!

  8. I was going through the rule book and came across the glossary entry for Malifaux and noticed the bad-things-happen.com url in there.

This is just mean, cruel, and exciting! So what is going to happen in 65 days 20 hours and 29 minutes from now?

    Let the speculation begin!

  9. I just wanted to say congratulations to everyone that had a hand in Malifaux. I picked up a copy (and a boatload of minis) at Gen Con and was impressed with the quality of the book right away. I finally finished reading it and it is truly great. Both the rules and fiction are top notch.

I am now a totally converted Malifaux fan.

    Malifan WyvernX86 :)

    P.S.

When is the RPG and novels coming out? The Malifaux setting is just screaming for this. :)
