I'm at RIW more often (when I get out), but not far away. Maybe we'll catch a game some day soon.

I'd definitely like a shot at Ramos.

So, I played my 2nd game last night. Like everyone else at RIW, I borrowed my Justice boxed set off Bowen and have a game against Mav man. I asked to play vs Lilith as she was one of the sets I'd considered. As the Neverborn swooped in on me with frightening speed, I thought "Man I'm hosed!"

That was until Justice got a bead on Lilith, who had gotten close enough, and cut her down in two swings.

Wow!

After that she dropped the big Nephilim and two of the tater tots as well. I lost 1 marshal and took some wounds from blood splatter

I don't know that Mav is very familiar with Lilith. I think he's an Arcanist player. Even so, it was disgustingly one-sided. I had the impression that Lilith was much more melee capable, but she seems pretty tricksy, where Justice seems rather straight forward.

In all, I'm glad I chose the Justice set. I'm sure theres some beginners luck in there, or maybe I'm just getting baited in on demos...

Anyway, as soon as RIW actually gets some models....

I picked up the book and cards today, but there were no minis! Is this another core mechanic?

I blame it all on Bowen. Seems like everyone else here does, so.....

Recruit him a closer LGS first. That way he doesn't have to drive ~45 minutes every week down to mine!

...not that I don't want him coming - I love the group Grotto brings. You guys are good, solid, play-for-the-joy-of-it gamers.

They have to have an LGS first. So far as I know, the Gamers Square thing didn't happen. So much for an east side game store.

Rob, who walked away from buying? Just curious. I'd like some clearer detail, but it sounds a little silly to dump a buy over not getting to swap a free mini. I also have a sales position (in addition to the many other things I do) and when you have clearly worded promotions, going outside the stated deal often ends badly for the company, resulting in potential $$ losses for having to give that deal to X others because people talk.

Nerd Elemental gave me a demo tonight. I had Death Marshals vs Rasputina. I made it out with one wounded Marshal.

Figure I'll pick up a Death Marshals box down the line here. We'll see where it goes from there.

So with Death Marshals, they kill undead, but mostly in melee? Ranged options being limited/supplimental?

I wouldn't say I'm looking for a particular playstyle per se, but I am a bit more of a direct player in general.

Rasputina sounds like she is ranged/magic with melee followers?

Lillith sounds all melee.

The Outcast look like a mixed bag.

What about Death Marshals? More melee? Ranged? Mixed?

I've taken a look over teh site here an talked with some of the locals. I'll probably grab a starter box, but I'm trying to decide between a few.

Based on models, I like the following:

Death Marshals

Rasputina

Lillith

Victorias

Based on the write ups and talk about how they play, they also all seem like good options. Each sounds to have things I'd enjoy. When I get a chance, I'm going to try a game or two, but I'd appreciate some more in-depth discussion about each set.

You can blame nerdelemental and others for me being here. I've loved some of the minis that have come out and the card mechanic looks interesting.

I would like to know where I can read up more on the different factions backgrounds etc. I can't seem to find anything on the site, but maybe I missed something.
