  1. Unfortunately Nerd, I just did move (for work) and thats why I'm in the situation I'm in. Lincoln, Nebraska is the closest gameshop that I'm aware of, but its nearly 100 miles away.

    ...

Actually, there is also a Hastings store nearby. I wonder if that would be a place to get gamers. They've got a nice little area with tables and a coffeeshop for reading too....wonder if we could use that as a public gaming area for a while???

    Hey Tang,

if you have a local rec center you could try looking for players there too. One of the local game groups here rents out a local rec centers room for game every month. There is also a local BloodBowl league that rents out one of the halls at a local hotel now that they are pushing 30 players.

  2. I think Malifaux is perfect for a "class" based system. The characters in the game are already under a class type system. If you look at them in terms of jobs and skill sets. You could play an Undertaker (Nico) or GraveWatcher (Mortimer) on the dark side or (Death Marshal) to be heroic. There is the Merc class already set up. And you could be a Mechanic if you wanted to run someone like Levi. The hunter class could encompas people like the Acolites or Hans. Just a few ideas off the top of my head.

As for running IK in D20...it was never the right system for Iron Kingdoms. Too much emphasis on the high fantasy and not nearly gritty enough. I thought that Alpha Omega was a much better fit for the world...a bit too far on the si-fi side but it could work...maybe.

  3. They moved there from Victoria Dr. I was wondering where they went, what is the new address?

Khail - I dont have an official memebership yet but you can find the few posts I have made as "White_Guy". Im still working on something special for the ThunderBowl finals ;)

  4. The only idea I would suggest tang is maybe buy the tracks in the scale you want to use and then find a train club localy and see if you can get an old broken engin or something? To cut the cost and give you a platform to build your own on. If you want the train to work that is, if not then yeah just build your own. They are quite expencive!

... another possiblility I just thought of was to get one of the Christmas trains that you see in stores in the next few months. You could re-do the body and use the rest of it so it would run. The holliday specials dont usualy cost AS much as a hobbiests train would. They tend to be a bit bigger than the HO that I have and would be passable for Malifaux size. They dont look as nice but thats why you would have to "re-skin" the train for the look you want.
