  1. Thanks to everyone who has visited the site so far, i'm still working on new content and templates to enable others to help. The weekly poll has been quite interesting so i though i'd give people a chance to suggest next weeks poll. It needs to be a simple question with 5 or so answers (plus or minus a few, but obviously who is your favourite master wont be practical).
  2. updated to add in the terrain section
  3. Thanks i think that would make a great addition to the site, let me think about how to integrate it then get back to you. Cheers
  4. Thanks folks, yes i will be looking for some people to write tutorials at some stage, initially i need to get the basic content and template sorted. Unfortunately the blog back end is a little unwieldy at the moment so some basic html skills would be required although i'd happily convert stuff from word etc for people. At the moment i plan sections something like Spells : Obey A section covering the use of the common spell Obey with alot of examples and suggestions on its use. Ability : Slow to Die etc etc So each common spell/ability would have its own page, then supplement that with a page for each Master as the site grows.
  5. Taking a break from making Terrain boards i've started work on a new Malifaux website. My aim with the website is to provide a regularly updated news site with tutorials covering everything from basic game mechanics to advanced spell/ability concepts. The first version of the site is here http://www.malifaux.info (not much content yet but it will grow over coming weeks) Interested in both peoples feedback and suggestions for content. Thanks
  6. carts are Hornby O gauge off ebay (averaged around £5 each). Track is Peco O gauge, sold in 1m strips (about £5 for 1m)
  7. The actual label i photoshopped Was made from a set i found via google images, i think it was someone doing an ad project showing what a variety of labels might look like, it worked well as a swap out for soul gin.
  8. probably not, but i do plan to make treasure markers out of the bottles.
  9. So, took a few attempts to decided on what my third board would be, but i've decided to go with a factory look which evolved into a soul gin distillery/bottling plant.
  10. Looks good my only concern would be how enclosed some of the fights are going to be, on my boards i keep finding i have to leave walls out or make they ruined just to allow a fair play field.
  11. Yes, heres a step by step i posted for my 2nd board, the sewers http://www.wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=14926 Although i've decided not to proceed with the gothic board now, i've had a different idea that is shaping up nicely.
  12. Not sure about this one so far, but it will probably look better painted. This is the first section in my gothic ruins board, it will either become an attacked guild HQ or some building in the forbidden zone, depends which way the theme goes in the end. The building will take up the centre 3 boards, with the 3 boards on either side forming a courtyard, all will be walled off (as per the front) with some sections of wall broken. Possibly some outbuildings, i.e. guild stables, not sure yet. This is my first board to include a second level, at least a broken one. Interested in opinions on this one, not sure if it works or not
  13. Very nice, a very different style to the way i make my boards but i think for a true city theme yours works better.
  14. Looks really good, as you've found the thing that makes these boards work well is thinking about little details that add realism. Cant wait to see the finished board.
  15. On the sewer board its pretty fixed, but the board can be played from any side. I plan to make a few "alternate" tiles for the sewer to add variety, its not as flexible as my first board because the sewers had to flow together well, i could have made it fully modular but would mean alot more very similar tiles.
  16. Thanks, Guild HQ is actually starting to get me thinking. Is there any actual guild logo (proper guild logo, as in not the rams)

Sorry for the quality of the pic, my photo skills arent great However, the mini is lovely, really nice details
  19. Now i've finished the sewers board and i've done a ruined pump station i'm looking for a third board that will probably be a large central building in malifaux. I was wondering is there any church/religious style buildings that you see as being in Malifaux, i.e. cathedralesque, perhaps ruined in the forbidden zone. There is nothing i've found in the background to indicate any presence of religion, either old or new. Or any other building that might have a gothic feel to it ? I like the idea of doing a large gothic building, alot of arches and cover, but the fight being mainly inside the building. Would appreciate any hints at anything i might have missed in the background, or any other suggestions for a largish building that will fit the background.
  20. Yeah i had considered doing something like that, but thats alot of work. On the train yard one, its impossible to cheaply get trains to the quality i'd want them, i.e. you can get cheap toy ones but the scale is off Temple has merits, as does something in the city waste zones. hmmmmm
  21. Thanks for the all the feedback. I've started having a few ideas for the next project, i might park the city board for now (i'm worried it will end up too enclosed). I'm possibly thinking about some sort of board where the majority of the board forms one building/ruin, i.e. the centre 3 tiles. Re-reading both books for ideas atm.
  22. In the case of the sewer board probably try and make it a bit more modular, in order to make the theme work and the boards unique i didnt make it as modular as i would like. The first board i made (the ruins) will work in pretty much any combination of the modules, this one is much more fixed to one pattern, although it will rotate well (i.e. you can play from any side). The third board, the city is pretty modular, but only 2/9 modules done so far.
