Looks good!
What colors/process did you use on the gold?
-
I've made the SS count somewhat low in hopes we can draw in some of the new players in town.
So...no swapping. Same build for each round.

Nice work!

Glad you signed up Eric. Welcome!
Looking forward to seeing some battle reports. :-)

I would up Nicodem's Defense slightly. I understand he's meant to be the master mage hanging behind a huge undead horde, but with a Defense of 3 he almost has to avoid combat directly.
Of course, Pandora has an even lower Defense, so I guess that's something.
Try playing Ramos!

With the coat, would you use a darker green or darken the same green with some black to create the wash so I can layer it in the shadows?
It really depends on what you like best.
You could use a dark green wash or a black wash. Heck, I even us Privateer Press' "Armor Wash" on a lot of colors. It gives it a nice shadowed/dirty look.
Again, a lot of painting comes from trial and error and finding what you like.
Check out this site, they have some good tutorials.

Impressive for your first model. Nice work!
A few things that could help:
1. Try some washes/inks. The green coat would be a good thing to start with. Take a darker green and cut it with water (approx 3 parts water and 1 part paint). The paint will settle in the lower parts of the model and bring out some definition. Same for the white (grey wash).
2. Start dark and work to light. I tend to base with a darker color which allows to highlight up without making the figure too bright. (opinion only of course)
3. Most paints are on the thick side so try adding a little water to thin them down. It will avoid losing detail on the model.

Very nice Pete. Love the Dead End sign.
You going to be there Saturday?

Very clean paint work. Nice job.

Nice vibrant colors. Well done.

LOL.
You did play someone you havent played before and Zoraida isn't exactly a straight forward master.
Hope to see you there.

Please join us for a multiplayer free-for-all Malifaux tournament.
When: 02/28/10
Where: Knightfall Games
Time: Check-in will be 12:00-12:30. Late arrivals are out of luck so be there by 12:30! It should wrap up by 5pm or so.
Cost: $5 entry which will fund the prizes.
Rules:
25ss crews
Players will be organized into groups of four per 3x3 table. There will be two phases in this tournament. Each will consist of 6 rounds or two hours, whichever comes first. Players will be repositioned after the first phase.
The player who makes the killing stroke on an enemy model earns points equal to the models soul stone cost. Masters are worth 10 points each. Friendly models sacrificed or accidentally killed do not earn anyone anything.
Please note: Structure of tournament heavily depends on attendance. The number of opponents per table could change or be combined entirely.
Hope to see everyone there!

A nice matte coat will do a lot for that crew. They look good. The bases are excellent. Well done.

Great conversion on the Executioner! Your crews look great.

Thank you for the feedback all!
If you click on the picture it's makes a little bigger but sadly, that's as good as my camera will get.
Whenever I look at spending cash to upgrade to a new camera I breakdown and buy more metal!
-
Well done. That works perfectly for dem Gremlins!
-
I've decided to try my hand at my Ortega crew. We will see how far I get....
First up:
Perdita
-
Yeah she's still one of the best masters in the game.
One of? I still think she takes 1st with anyone else as a distant 2nd.
-
Very impressive freehand. Well done!
-
The custom bases look killer!
-
With a shirt like that, her DF should be 10+! Well done!
-
Very nice work. Well done.

First thing I did was get the book spiral bound. I would recommend it for any book you intend to leave opened flat for any amount of time.
Agreed.
I have Kinko's rebind all my rulebooks now days. Typically only $5 per book and it makes life so much easier as i can have it laying flat on the table without damaging the spince (or flopping closed).
