  1. I was curious, as it happens (always). That embroidery piece on her knee is so good that it almost feels wrong.;) How can anything really be that good?

Suppose my only crit would be that the great bits (most of it) are so good that they accent the less good bits and make them seem a bit lacking in comparison (skin particularly).

    Thanks for sharing!:)

  2. Morf: For what it's worth, I think you've done the wrong thing (specifically) for the right reason - interesting quandry though for my ethics.

Artificial exclusivity always bugs me (from micro to macro it's exactly the same thing, different only in scale) but rewarding the true fans and your line about some things not being available for money only, made me cheer!

I've read the details of the Herald programme and all of the posts on TNG (a place I hate going) before commenting. Perhaps if you changed the requirements for becoming a Herald, the problem would be solved to everyone's satisfaction - great flexibility in the programme itself though and kudos for that!

Though I'm glad to see so many people on TNG being against LE minis, it would have been better if they'd found out the relevant details before commenting and it's notable that the comments only seem to come out in force against a small company - that servile power worship you see everywhere these days: if it's big and powerful you can't criticise it (but save up the resentment and put the boot into the little guy first chance you get)*....:puke:

I'd mention to some of your defenders that 'well, everyone else does it' is not any ethical defence whatsoever! Anyway, it's your call and your business; and like I say, you've shown that your heart's really in the right place, so cool. You've shown a lot of imagination and creativity in what you've done and I hope you can focus some of that on resolving this: you actually can please pretty much everyone with this if you're nimble in your thinking.

I suspect you won't but if you'd like some actual, categorical suggestions about this then feel free to pm me (I'm not just a theorist and will happily help whatever I see is deserving of help).

*EDIT: Oversimplification obviously and yes, there are other dynamics in play....

  3. I really like the pale blue used on Cheshire (the AT mini) - unusual is good! I suppose my only crit would be that it all looks a bit aetherial and all the detail too similar in tone - I'd bang some more shading in there to give it a bit more definition (dark blue in the feathers and dark grey/black/slightly blue on the metal - polished metal has dark, dark shading).

  4. r2-j1: I totally get your point - it's this particular product I think's a bit daft, with it's combination of high price and uninteresting finish. For the price, if it had modular exterior detail that you could attach according to what type of game you're playing, it would make more sense (say Oriental, Western, Gothic Horror etc).

Peterdita: I'll be your George....:puppy: []

You're talking about economic growth and wanting somebody to make/release a robot arm? And want us or somebody to pay about $20,000 US...you got jokes I see!!!

    That'd be me!;)

  5. I'd say the orange, transluscent plastic 'fire' on the wizard's ill-advised. REnt have tried to peddle the marketing BS that their PPP are serious minis, the equal - or superior! - to anything that R ever released.

And to be a bit charitable, some of this PPP does occupy a kind of 'worst of both worlds' nether region between, say, GW plastics and Wizards of the Coast 'collectable', cheap, nasty tat. [some AT$£ minis are alright, though way too expensive for what they are.]

That 'fire' is pure Hasbro to the eye....

  6. Another funny bit of computer shenanigans: I wanted to change my signature to this:-

Just to save time in my posts: Yannick Hennebo:inlove:.

And did, as far as I was concerned (I've copied it directly from the edit signature bit in the User CP, having saved it).

But no - check my sig: them computers always know best!....

EDIT: Really don't care but curious....
