I use primarily P3 and VMC. I also really like some of the Reaper Triads, some GW, some Citadel and VGC. It is mainly to fill out color ranges and give some variations. You may find that you like the consistency of some metallics better from one line over another. I like P3s silver metallics for the most part, with oily steel being one of my favorites. However, I prefer Vallejo golds better, with the exception of P3 Brass Balls. It is all a matter of personal preference and how the paints work with your style of painting. My friends have some differing thoughts that work for them.
Try different colors and how you mix your paints. Eventually, you will find what works best for you.

I may try that myself... how did you secure the pig to the base?

While using your pin vise you drill through the mini and into your finger...

I am still interested... I will go sign up on the WAMP forums... I assume you are holding the classes online there... Hopefully I will be able to find the time to keep up with this... I have been meaning to paint him, this will hopefully help motivate me.

I agree with Peterdita on the scale of the cattails, but would like to know how you made them or did you buy them ready-made...

Great idea... I would love to participate... It would be a great way to learn new techniques by following Anders' examples and trying them out...
When were you planning to start? I already have Sebastian, I just need to assemble and base him.

Duplicolor Sandable Primer. Available at pretty much any auto parts store in the US. White, Light Grey, Dark Grey, Black, and Rust. $5 for a full size rattle can. best primer I've ever used (and it's actually a primer, not a black spray paint like what GW sells).
I have used Duplicolor for about 5 years now with great results! I have used all of the colors that AOM mentioned. The can nozzle which sprays in a fan for better coverage.

Tough little start to the Wings season. Sharks had a tough first game also, losing to Colorado, who we really should beat, but we rebounded nicely against the Ducks...who I HATE
It was nice to see the Avs win it for Joe!!! Go Avalanche!!!

I am bad with names... I apologize... It was good to talk with you and Chris on Tuesday. I will try to make it out Next tuesday... If I can, I will bring my Guild and Nephalim...

Happy Birthday Rob!!!

My vote is for the simple green to strip the minis... When you reprime, use light coats and spray a little closer... As far as a good primer that I have found that helps keep the fuzz to a minimum, Duplicolor Sandable primer works really well...
Good luck, I hope that this helps.

Looks Great!!! I have been working on trying to get mine done... I think that, after seeing yours, Blonde is the way to go...

I use Duplicolor Sandable Primer for everything. I have gone through the painting evolution from black to grey to white. There are advantages to all of them. You can learn from experience what works best for you. These days, I generally use white for most projects, but i also keep a can of black, grey, and rust for projects that I am trying to get a specific effect. Good luck and feel free to message me if you have any questions.
