Excellent. I really should buy them and the bottles too.
-
Yes good idea.
-
The other option would be to add a terrain category to existing contests. I can see the Rotten Harvest one having some very interesting ones.
Not sure as people prefer painting miniatures than taking time to build a diorama. There are only a few entries each time there is a deadly duel category.
-
No one actually has time to enter Iron Painter (except super fast painting moa), we're all just crazy!
I am the craziest may be....
-
I'd be interested in it but not entering so much. ..... change the thread title and I'll add a yes...:
Second that : terrain contest, not Iron.
-
It can't be exactly as IP. I think you should not pair people for a terrain contest. The best entries go to round 2 and so on.
You could start with categories and each winner in a category goes to the next round.
If we have many rounds, it should start with simple pieces and go forward up to more complicated pieces of terrain or scenery.
You can also do it as a one shot contest such as Femme Fatale, TT or Rotten Harvest contests and if people are interested then think about a kind of IP contest.
BTW I am interested in organising it and why not being a judge (that would change).
If I have to enter such a contest it can't be before september.

Maybe instead of Category by type (Fantasy, Sci-fi, etc.), maybe categories by size. Like a 30-50mm base sizes, 50-300 mm, and 300+ for the big pieces. Then break down each size category by type (urban, landscapes, abstract, whatever). This way you wouldn't have to compare, say, a cleverly done base sized for a single mini and something the size of a gameboard. Maybe even a seperate "Hirst Artistry" category for those into making pieces with that.
Just my thoughts on it.....
That's the idea IMO. It should be gaming terrain or scenery as Rob said, not a miniature diorama.
-
I agree you should have categories as Rob said in the IP thread. As a terrain maker I know that a complete terrain board takes a long long time (about 100 hours at least). If a terrain contest comes to life one day it should be for small sceneries such as a building, trees,....not a gameboard.

It's a fantastic diorama. Awesome.
-
No just different, I meant that they are usually painted in black but white is a good idea for the alignment.
-
The white base is unuasual but that's a good idea. Nice painted miniature Bex...and a purple one
-
Hi Darklord, I would be glad to enter but with Ip and many other things to do I won't have time.
-
It's always the problem with limited edition miniatures. But who cares about "la voyageuse" as she only is a mercenary.
-
Yes it's almost no more than 1 Euro. I just checked the Ebay store and the Hell Dorado miniatures are about 15% less expensive than in France...one of them is 30% less.
I also realised he sells Warmachine miniatures I used to buy in USA. He used to sell GW miniatures only before.
-
You're welcome. I already ordered from him He has an Ebay store and he is really serious.
FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE !!!!! and the miniatures are less expensive than in other shops (even Games Workshop stuff.
-
You could also try a Uk shop such as Maelstrom Games (free shipping).

Try here :

I looked for Illinois and there are 8 shops selling them I think.
-
Can't you find Helldorado miniatures from another US retailler ? At least buy them from a european retailler if shipping cost is not too high.
-
I didn't notice this thread before. Thanks for the photos Nathan.
-
Which terrible experiences ?
-
I am looking for a Helldorado (may be Warmachine I don't remember) terrain I saw on Internet a few days ago but I lost the link. It was a dark blue table with dark blue sculpted columns and lava on the floor.
Have you seen it and do you have the link ? Thanks.
-
Lol. I'll have to do that at some point - I've refused to have anything to do with the game until they released it in English.
J'te posais la question surtout parce que je viens de passer la derniere semaine a mettre a jour les regles et les chroniques de Zaebas pour la sortie prochaine aux USA.
I didn't know you were working on this translation. That's great.
-
Not sure about the terrain yet as I need to read the rules (there are specific terrain pieces for Helldorado) but something with a huge Hell door. I might be tempted to use my Alkemy ruined temple too for buildings.
You should browse the Helldorado forum : there are many nice terrains and tables.
-
No rather : "Fast February 27th!!"
Right. I am going to buy them as soon as they are released on February 27th...I'll have to buy the rules and make a new terrain for Helldorado.
