bertmac Posted February 14, 2014 Report Share Posted February 14, 2014 so played my first couple of games with kaeris and she seems pretty good without any upgrades. is anyone going with a particular upgrade for her more often than not? what part of the game are we finding her particularly good at suupport killing objective grabbing? CRC Posted February 15, 2014 Report Share Posted February 15, 2014 Grab and Drop + Flare gives her piles of schemes, and for 1 SS I've never regretted it. She's an Arcanist, and we get some pretty awesome upgrades. I take Arcane Reservoir and Imbued Energies if I have nothing better planned. As for her niche, she's a generalist. I've used a rail golem a couple of times and it gets ganged up on a lot as its pretty nasty in combat. Usually kills at least one enemy model and takes as fair bit of fire. Rail golem is a melee beast to run in and bash enemies in the head. Firestarter enhances kaeris burning and the captain is an awesome toolbox. Only tried captain and firestarter once each though. But yeah i can totally see the captain in a lot of kaeris crews. Moves people around, gives out burning, creates cover and smashes people. He's a real utility model. He activates, get Flight from grab'n'drop, and if you've tanked him up on burning from someone else in the crew can Locomotion almost anywhere then give a battering, he only discards burning at the end of activation so just have none left. Imbued Protection brings her up to Df 7 and coupled with Armor +1, SS, and a healing totem, she can take a lot of punishment for a good while. It also puts her in position for the mid-to-short-range game, which she does really well with. I'm also a fan of the Firestarter. He's a steal for his price, although you have to be careful with him as he has no way outside of SS to stop damage. Also, I Did It! just gives me a happy. CRC Posted February 28, 2014 Report Share Posted February 28, 2014 Kaeris' limited upgrades are both strong and cheap. I would definitely take one. I have never regretted taking Imbued Energies. To be fair I'm pretty new as are my mates I've been playing against are too so I'm sure I'll find more difficulties later on but right now it seems like there's nothing she can't do!
