Trigger activation sequence question

Mastablasta77

Question

OK, so here is the set up. War pig with 1 WD charges an ice gamin. He flips a red joker for damage and the ice gamin dies.

Now the War pig has a trigger called "Eat your fill" which states: "After killing or sacrificing an enemy model, this model may choose to heal all damage it has suffered and end its Activation", however the Ice gamin explodes upon being killed doing enough damage to kill the warpig.

Which one goes first? Go!

Neither of these abilities (Warpig's Eat Your Fill and Ice Gamin's Explosive Demise) are triggers however in the case of simultaneously timed abilities (which these would be since they both function off of a model being killed) page 46 General Timing call out at the bottom of the page states that the acting models would resolve first. Warpig heals via Eat Your Fill then the Ice Gamin causes damage via Explosive Demise.

What about in the instance where one is a trigger and the other is an ability. Such as a Gupp triggers "Adulthood" on an attack against a model with black blood. Both models are at 1 wd left. The black blood is after damaging and the trigger is after killing. Does the Gupp turn into a Silurid in this case?

Same call out covers that eventuality as well. It states that "whenever an ability happens at the same time as any triggers, the triggers are resolved first." Since these dont resolve at the same time though (the trigger works off of killing while the ability works off damage) Black Blood would go off and then the trigger would resolve (if still able). If the Gupp would die due to the damage from Black Blood then the Adulthood trigger shouldn't be able to resolve.

For completeness sake, if the triggers were to resolve at the same portion, page 32 would give that to the defender (if they resolve at the same time, i.e. "after succeeding", "after failing", "after resolving", etc.).

"After damage" is before "after killing"...

That is the way we resolved it. I just wanted to be sure since this thread was up. Thanks
