youknow12
For this germinate ability, the restriction for placing the markers say, "These markers may not be placed over any other Markers or models." The question is does that mean other Markers and other models or just any models with the other being only for the Markers. I would think he should be able to place it on him, that way he can up his range to 4 on his own without relying on whatever terrain happens to be on the board. But I don't know. So let me know if there is an official response, or if anyone has thoughts. Thanks in advance.
Joel
"other" applies for both IMO - so he can germinate under his own base if he wishes. to get range though, he only needs to be in base contact with the severe terrain however, so he could place the germinate just touching his base and achieve his 4" range that way. I think for "Other" to apply to both the models and markers it would need to precede both words. Probably needs to go the rules forum for clarification, but my reading is that he can't drop it on models period.
Aesop
to get range though, he only needs to be in base contact with the severe terrain however, so he could place the germinate just touching his base and achieve his 4" range that way. I never noticed the word "other" in the ability but I read it as "these markers may not be place over any other markers. They may also not be place over any models". The above quoted text is really the important part IMO.
Joel
Yeah, I generally germinate ahead of me and move forward twice. Or germinate, move, attack. So not placing on models or markers doesn't really come up.
Cunning
Dont the germinate markers disappear if you move? I dont have the cards with me but I thought it said that in the ability.
Joel
Yeah, sorry, brainfart as I'm ill. It's move-germinate-attack most of the time, or move-move-germinate so you can place where you need it.
Csonti
Yeah, the marker is gone when the model moves (or even gets pushed). So you can walk, Germinate and attack with the bonus range. However you can't Germinate and for example charge into the marker.
