Viks Wave 2

It's interesting... a quick preamble. Most of the masters that I own came out in wave one- the exceptions being Colette and Kaeris. Most of my other masters were available, most with a great core of their models, missing one or two optional beaters- Ramos missed his Large SPA, Raspy the "Snowstorm"- Extras.

Vikis were another story for me in wave one.

So- I played a few games with Viks in wave one, but I kept feeling like they were missing something. I thought that something was the movement shenanagans of v1 sisters in spirit... and partially I was right- I really do miss that. Healing was the big one. The ability to switch in and out- use SS's to heal, or use friecorps models to heal... I understand the philosophy of wave two Viks, they're much more about coordinated assault- a front line duo of destruction. But with Vanessa and the Librarian back, having more heals that can be interspaced between activations has given them some non-ss and non-(lackluster)-malifaux child healing. And that has tempered my resolve to find my lost love for this master again.

So- they'll probably be what I playtest next, as I've had hands on the new masters I wanted to play around with (The two aforementioned, as well as Lucas and Ironsides), now I want to use my meta to make sure we're getting balance with new models in wave 1 crews and Wave 1 masters vs wave 2 masters.

I'm excited. I love these whirl-winding monsters...

Any wave two experience with these ladies? Am I excited enough to re-buy the models? I do love the new ronin... And the new Taelor. ... And the new student.

I have played with the Viks pretty much exclusively for the last 2 or so months. I love them.

They didnt seem to get much in Wave 2 but then again I didnt think they needed much. Vanessa is a given and you can combine her with Lazarus or Sue to do a couple of basic tricks.

The Librarian is a nice addition if you done want to use Vanessa for healing. I am also trying out other Merc models like the Performer as well as an alterative for the Oiran.
