FlammenKrieger
Hello, I am using Alice Madness Returns as a theme for my Leveticus crew and I am looking for some basing help. I have decided on a 'Vale of Tears' look for the bases and have in mind little mushrooms and autumn leaves but overall I need suggestions on how to make each mini appear as if they are standing on a little curved hill. Any help would be great. P.S. If you don't know the Vale of Tears, here are some links http://farm5.staticflickr.com/4141/4815331277_a68966b85c_z.jpg http://www.electricblueskies.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/American-McGees-Alice-Madness-Returns-1080p-Wallpaper-47-Vale_of_Tears-Royal_Suit-Dress.png http://farm5.staticflickr.com/4142/4815355091_f4d7855b1a_z.jpg

FlammenKrieger
Had I quick go at a Vale of Tear base. Tell me what you think. I have done another with a difference technique and will upload when finished http://www.flickr.com/photos/106345933@N07/sets/72157636858911386/
edonil
Oh very nice! That looks excellent, there's a lot of contrast but nothing on there is overwhelming anyway else.
FlammenKrieger
Thank you. Here is another attempt where the static grass and tea ground were applied together (grass coming out of the dirt effect) and then flocked. The mushrooms are a little tall and look too straight but having no putty I couldn't adjust any of that just yet. http://www.flickr.com/photos/106345933@N07/10436231635/in/set-72157636858911386
edonil
What are you using to make them, if I might ask?
FlammenKrieger
The mushrooms are just nails that I clipped down. The handy part is that by keeping the bit you clipped off, you can then sculpt new 'shroom head on what you have left =)
Mister Shine
Might want to use a bit of green stuff to round the mushroom tops a little? Looking good though
Wings
Yep, when you have some putty the mushrooms would definitely benefit from being given a more organic appearance. Looking good apart from that though.
