Hagisman
Hey just wanted to ask if anyone else was having problems putting this box together? The models are very detailed, but assembly was very difficult for me for some of the models. The instructions helped for most of the assembly, had trouble with on of the models legs. Putting the Judge on a 30mm base was very difficult cause his legs are so far apart that he has to balance on the rounded edges. One of the Marshals, one that looks like he is sliding down the side of a coffin, is very top heavy. I'm trying to find metal to weigh them down. I have yet to put Lady Justice and Scales, but they will probably get touched sometime later this week. Anyone else put this box together? I don't have the new box, but this in particular is a fairly common problem with dynamically posed models. I usually just mark where the feet need to go, then file those sections down flat with a small file so they are flush with the base.
Phototoxin
If you put basing material on the bases first then put them 'standing' on it their feet will overlap the lip but they should be level. EG: Base: /|_____|\ Base with material: /******\

I had some of the same problems with my M2E Lilith Mother of Monsters box set. Barbaros' feet are SO far apart that if they were any further they wouldn't even be on a 30mm base (hence why I have a thread on here where I asked if he was supposed to be 40mm). My solution was to buy pre-made bases like these http://www.shop.microartstudio.com/shale-bases-wround-30mm-p-48.html that have a feature on them that's just slightly larger than 30mm and mounting him to that. Tombanjo
Taelor from the new Vik's box was like that too, just barely on a 30mm base, so I just built a little platform for her with some plaster and such Dave
ThatDarnSatan
I had to buy this box twice, because I mangled Lady J pretty badly the first time. Issues: 1) If you attach her head to the body properly, so it's nestling in the spot where it seems it's meant to go, her face presses against the sword blade. The blade, in addition, ends up too high on her face and covers it. The solution I found was to add a little blob of Green Stuff to her back, so that I could place the head more where I wanted it. As a result, her neck doesn't connect quite right but it's such a small area, covered by both her chin and the sword, that I'm not worried. 2) The scales on her scabbard and the gun on the back of her belt are very fragile. I don't know if it's possible to glue those after pressing the head on (maybe the hair covers them, I dunno, I glued them first both tries), but either way, be careful not to put any pressure on them or they're likely to break. 3) Her wide stance, small left foot and the off-angle of the right foot do make it difficult to stick her to a base. I'm using the metal Wild West base inserts for my Guild models so have been pinning them, so this was an extra challenge. In the end, I drilled her left foot between the heel and instep, up through her butt; I'll paint the exposed bits of brass rod black, hopefully you'll never notice. The Scales of Justice should be handled carefully, in that the connection between the scales and cross beam are so very, very fragile. I haven't touched him on the second box I bought yet, but ended up having to drill and pin the points of articulation on the first one. It doesn't look too good so I'm going to try it again, just being much more careful. I presume it won't matter much and they'll eventually break anyway, but hopefully I should get some photos before that happens. Hagisman
I got Judge and the Marshals primed right now. The squatting one is so far my favorite, but I haven't added the casket on him till after I paint him up a bit more. I'm worried about getting the details in so I bought a set of new brushes. And friend of mine got me an extra set of just detail brushes. I'm priming white to help get the lighting right, but it doesn't lay down as visibly as black so I feel a lot of sections of the model aren't hit. I might go over with a white layer to even the coat out a bit. The Peacebringers are very fragile at the death marshal's hand. When I put him together and cut some of the mold lines(which are few and far between imo), where the gun meets the model's hand bent slightly turning the grey plastic to white with the stress. If I end up playing on Tuesday I'll have to play a 20ss match. I'm not going to have 30ss assembled by then. Painting isn't going to be till next week most likely. ork56
Maybe metal models would be better? (Runs away to hide)
Wormwood
Maybe metal models would be better? (Runs away to hide) I'd, generally, agree with you. I like the weight of Metal models. However, you can't beat plastics for Conversion potential! (and price points, which is obviously important to Wyrd, with good reason...) Necris
I'm currently working in the lady J box haven't based anything yet as I'm waiting for inspiration for the bases to come to me, but so far the judge and the death marshals have been a dream to put together except for the marshal using the coffin as a stepping stone the join there is particularly small (more so than mei feng and misaki) and resulted in me adapting and resorting to super glue to get an immediate bond. The scales were tricky with the hands but otherwise easy to fit together. Lady J however was a bitch she is so slime of frame that she is very fiddly to get together again I resorted to super glue for the most part to stick her together but her sword was my biggest issue getting the blade into place with plastic glue (asthe bond in the long run will be stronger) is a nightmare, the part is too small to pin even with my 0.05mm drill bit which is the smallest bit I've ever been able to find and the join for her scabbard is vague at best. I had no real issue with her head though it sat nicely away from the blade an if looking at her face on looks like she would be staring over the blade (if she wasn't blind) I know there was a lot of hate for the hair but I can understand the idea behind it I think it would have been better at a slight different angle to make it look like she's just rapidly dropped down into the stance and he hair is following behind. Out of the whole set the judge is so far my favourite model followed by the crouching marshal Looking forward to painting them up, and since starting this post I think I'm going to mount them n wooden boards
nagash13
another location for textured resin bases that i have had really good experience with. http://www.secretweaponminiatures.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=79_33&zenid=0a6b46cef377a73f747bd5b8b5e0dce7
