bonesandsinew
This witchling stalker came free with last month's Game Trade Magazine and I always wanted to try my hand at painting miniatures. I watched a few You Tube videos and bought an Army Painter starter kit and this is what I came up with.

Iamwyrd
Very good for your first time. You'll only get better and that's an excellent model.
Lussuria
Hoooly coooow. First time painter who is ALSO a master of black cloak shading. AMAZING. Teach me your wisdom on how you did the highlighting on that cloak?? I can NEVER paint cloaks, nor black for that matter. Haha. This turned out brilliantly! I really hope you pick up some more minis to paint and show us!!!
Turelio
For a first mini, this is excellent work. How did you find painting it? Is it something you will likely continue to do?
bonesandsinew
Thanks for the kind words. The starter kit didn't come with grey so I just mixed it myself roughly so that there were different hues and used that for the highlights in the various areas after I had applied the dark grey base coat. Then I used the ink wash and finished with a coat of anti shine. I've never played any miniature games but am really into board games so I'm going to buy Puppet Wars Unstitched and paint them up. A great hobby to sit and relax in the evening after work. Edited September 8, 2013 by bonesandsinew
Lussuria
I hope you share your puppet wars painting progress with us!! And I also got the Unstitched boardgame - the minis in this box are all really really nice! I hope you have fun with them
Turelio
The new puppet wars minis are pretty cool, and look like they will be slightly easier to paint than the last one (I haven't got a chance to test that yet though). Nice clear details, and a few added bits that wouldn't work on the previous models.
Sybarite
Looks great!
Sephiroth
Nice for first one. You could paint the base and dry brush it. This would connect the miniature better with the base.
